How Happy Are With Your Auto Cancelling Turn Signals
gunboat replied to YamaDude's topic in Watering Hole
after rideing my used '99 rsv for over 4 years i don't think about it anymore. but when my son joe took his m/c rideing test on my bike. the texas driver license person, counted points off his test grade for not turning off the turn signals soon enough. i did not even try to explanen how they work on the rsv. joe was kinda mad about it but it was only a couple of points off a good test score. don c. -

we are limited as to what size tires will fit the rsv rim, those 2 sizes are: 155-80-15 or a 165-80-15. now the c/t manufactors are: b.f.goodrich radial t/a kumno power star 758 165-80-15 nexum vernerstien makes one as does mickey tompson but these 2 tires are about $165.00 each. the bfg cost me $45.00 and the kumno about the same. their maybe a few others but i can't find all my notes right now. thanks for the info. hope this helps don c.

carb float level with Bubs?
gunboat replied to Reed's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
hi reed i have a 99rsv that i bought used in '06, it had bubs on it. i guess going on 2 years now ken came down to tom's in blanco. and we had a float setting class we were also doing the valve adjustments with buddyrich's help also. i have punched a couple of vent holes in the filler neck of the gas tank. i seem to be getting better gas milage out of the schoot. i realy need to start tracking it again to check. i know when i drove from houston to canada for the '08 international rally. my mpg veried from a high of 53.2 to a low of 30.0 mpg. ( my average was about 43.85 ) now this was with towing a fuly loaded trailer and my daughter sarah on the back. but this again was before the carb & float adjustments. i feel you won't have to set the floats with the bub's. this is just my experiance. reguards don c. -

hi kreg you are welcome & always glad to help. was a great weekend to spend time with friends. weather was outstanding, got about a 100 mile round trip in on saturday to look at the new toy. the finger is better, but it's got a lump on the left side behind the finger nail. may have something to do with the squid's medical "kiss". might have to go to the emergency room and get a shot for rabies. didn't i see brad foaming at the mouth when he has MANHANDLING that "little" bush? reguards don c.

hi all i have mounted 2 c/t so far and they have both been over 100 psi. flab 78 & squidley had stated that the wheel should be very clean. i concure with this thought. but my two tires have seated only after 125 psi, i have mounted one tire by my self. the other had to have a bead blaster to seat it. but as always be safe. reguards don c. l

hi all & welcome to the darkside. i have run the bfg for over 31,000 miles and no ill effects. i now have the kumho installed. i have about 6,000 miles on the kumho with a avon corba radial on the front. i am well pleased with this combo. attented the 1'st lousiannia mx day this last weekend, ran about 350 miles in the rain, tires ran great. i do have a spare rear rim that i will look at having the rim cut down a couple 1,000th's. to see if we darksiders can use less air pressure to mount the c/t tire. will keep ya'll informed as to how things are going. best reguards don c.

allright mojo gueen you better watch out i'll stick the cheif on ya. i can now say i've rode in the rain, not regular rain, cold ass rain. man it's bad when you have a depuity sherrif in a squad car in the next lane to you just shaking his head. but you know what i gladly do it again to have the fellowship i did this weekend. reguards don c.
