  1. I'd like to know how much you layed out for that one!
  2. So where are you guys getting the 17.5 p jets at?
  3. Air/oil cooled engines run hotter and for every 20° increase in temperature, your oil will degrade faster, additives will burn off faster and you loose protection. So a water cooled engines should theoretically last longer just on that point alone. They maintain a more even temp during operation also.
  4. mine works fine
  5. Heck, that's where I met my wife 28 years ogo. But I was on the USS Constellation. Beautiful place and very nice people!
  6. When my 99 was acting up I found the vacuum actuator under the left lower fairing had come loose at the adjustment nut. That fixed mine. Sure there are plenty of other issues it could be though. The vacuum pump is under the right fairing. Just tear the bike all apart and I'm sure you'll find it! :whistling:
  7. PO just put on new 404's week before I bought my RSTD. Now I have to ride all that much more this year just wear them out!!! :headache: Can't wait to get some Avon's!
  8. You need to check those wires then for a good ground and proper power. If brake light is working then I'd guess bad ground? Hope you have a meter.
  9. Are all your lights working? That same fuse powers brake light.
  10. Speedbleeders!
  11. Just start tracing it with a volt meter from the battery to relay, relay from horn switch power, you'll find it. I had mine first hooked up to the acces 12V power under the seat. That eventually blew because it's only a 5A fuse. Now hooked to battery with 10A fuse and using the acces 12V for GPS.
  12. This prob won't help on a Venture, but on the RSTD with all that chrome up front, I put 4-5" of Black Limo tint just above the support of WS and that really helped. I have blackened all the lower plastic to match the "Midnight" of the bike!
  13. How do you have the Stebel wired up?
  14. Totaly agree. I'd like to add a Concours 14 along side my RSTD!
  15. Let us know how you got that bolt out from the top. Kinda a pain.
  16. Ya, like I said at the first reply!!
  17. My first quess would be are you slightly turning to one side at all when comming to the full stop? That will pull you down to one side at the last second.
  18. I've seen a few RS (2nd gen) pics without the front ss rotors covers. How many people have removed them and kept them off?

Under the right lower front fairing along with the cruise control and one other thing, slips my mind.
  20. Bubs are of course much louder, but man do they sound good. Your MPG might go down just because your twisting the throttle more just to hear them. I do. I've disconnected the AIS so I don't get backfiring anymore. At $500 for Bubs, I'd get'm. You cam always pick some stock ones up cheaper later if you want.
  21. I've had 2 of these bikes with a little backfiring, pluged or got rid of AIS and no more. Heck drive to my place and I'll rejet it for free. Lynchburg, VA. Might be someone closer that could help though.
  22. Thanks!
  23. Guess I'll do that. Wonder why Yamaha would put it there if you can't use it properly?
  24. On RSV and RSTD there is a switched aux power plug under the seat avaliable for use with small rubber plugs covering the pin holes. Does anyone know what pins to order to be able to use this? Dealer not sure what I'm talking about. Both of my bikes have it just sitting there.
