  1. Deb- The more the merrier!! Dave
  2. Erv- Congrats to Terri on the nomination. Things never go quite a smoothly as we hope do they but we'll keep an eye out for you on Monday. We should be up riding but we'll get you checked in as soon as we return. I'm not sure where we'll be riding on Monday but if a group is in Yellowstone that day, you could possibly link up with us/them there. Which way will you be coming to Cody? Dave 801-918-7999 (cell)
  3. I've used it a little bit as well. I've found it easier to use than mapquest or google. When are you coming? Dave
  4. The temps look perfect Kurt, thanks for making that arrangement!! Jack- Once you get the lights working on the trailer, don't think about fixing anything else. Dave
  5. Reinyrooster- If the one fork brace is a heavier that stock for a first gen, I'll take it. How would you like to do the shipping. Dave (Utadventure)
  6. I was thinking of the saddlebags and rear fender. Dave
  7. I have one off of an '86. Do you need the chrome fender as well? Dave
  8. Jon- If you can't find an entire working CLASS unit, I have one that the display portion is in good shape but the second circuit board (with the connector) was previously broken and repaired but no longer works. Maybe between the two units, you can assemble a functioning one. Dave
  9. Jack- Whether on the '91 or the '83 (or bring them both), there is going to be some great riding. I see you added the proposed ride schedule to the flyer. If you guys haven't seen it yet, take a look. Dave
  10. Congrats on the class and great looking bike. Now, just try to keep up Leadwolf56. Dave
  11. We love the place!! Have a great time and don't forget the pics. Dave
  12. I was thinking of some football, riding and bbq with the family. My wife has suggested canning some salsa (I love the salsa dip - maybe I'll bring some to Cody). I wonder what I'll be doing this weekend. Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Enjoy and be safe. Dave
  13. Are there enough owners (probably on this site alone) that you could group together and file a class action suit? That might get their attention!! Better to fix a few bikes than to have a recall on all of them. Dave
  14. Sounds like a cop out to me. If as he says, "These models have an inherent engine noise that is considered normal", why isn't it consistent with all of the bikes. Instead, some have it, others have it worse, while some don't seem to have it at all. Thing back to the '70s Dodges - their starters had a distinct, inherent noise - ALL OF THEM. You could tell a Dodge starting up from blocks away. Dave
  15. One of the first things that happened to me was, I went downtown to a festival and parked in an open parking lot. Wanting to secure the bike, I locked the steering. What I didn't know and couldn't see because of sunlight, was that there was a position on the iginition switch that not only locked the front forks to the side but also turned on the park lights. When I came back to the bike at the end of the evening, the battery was dead. Is it possible that this is what's happening to you? Dave
  16. Pics!!! http://s470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/2009%20Ride%20for%20the%20Fallen/
  17. There were three Ventures here on Saturday. My White/Cream '88, a black cherry '83 (told him about the site) and a MM Venture. We also had Pegasus1300's RSTD. Had a great time. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Dave
  18. Same here. I place my right heal on the center stand, make sure that both sides of the center stand make contact with the ground and lift up on the passenger grab rail. Good luck! Dave
  19. The easiest way I've done it is to use an extended spark plug socket I purchased at the dealer. I has the socket on one end and a hex on the other end. After removing the heat shields, I place the spark plug socket on the plug and a ratcheting wrench on the other. I lossens right up and then I can remove it the remainder by hand (still with the socket). Replacement is just the reverse. Start the new plug by hand, finish tightening with the ratcheting wrench. Worked slick for me. Dave
  20. Tomorrow we get to ride in honor in of the fallen soldiers. It is a wonderful way to remember those that are willing to place themselves (and their families) between us and those that wish to do us harm. Thank you to all who have or are now serving in the armed forces. Anyone local that would like to join us but didn't know about this event, please come out. http://www.rideforthefallen.us Dave
  21. AWESOME!! I look forward to seeing it in Cody! Dave
  22. You do what these guys have suggested and you'll have it ready to ride for the Cody Roundup in September!! Welcome to the site - if you have a problem, someone here (usually multiple someones) has the answer. Dave
  23. What a great accomplishment - 25 years!! Congrats to you both and best wishes for the next 25. Dave
  24. Herb- Glad you had a fantastic trip!! Any pics? Wish we could have met you in SLC but - there's always next year. Dave
  25. Good on ya Randy. We don't want Jack stuck at home, missing the Roundup, because he doesn't have a bike to ride Just given you a bad time Jack. Glad to hear you're getting the '91 rolling! Dave
