    Tents

These are a little more pricey but set up quickly: Apache Tents Dave
  2. Friction Zone Magazine just did an article on this ride. Take a [ame=http://s470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/Ouray%20Colorado/]Ouray Colorado pictures by utadventure - Photobucket[/ame]. Click on the title!! Dave
  3. You must have a great seat!! Best of luck on your third Iron Butt. Be safe!! I look forward to hearing about your trip. Hey, if you decide to come back west, stews on! Dave
  4. I thought you might be ready for another Iron Butt!! Dave
  5. The Superbrace is a great product. I added one to my 1st Gen. Keep in mind it isn't a cure all and there may be something else associated with your vibration. Easy to install. Four bolts is all. Best to have a torque wrench and the appropriate torque spec for your bike. Dave
  6. Ron- I, like you wife, have broken my ankle. Indeed, it will take a while to heal (even after seven years I can still feel it at times) My wife has had two shoulder surgeries. These don't heal quickly either!! Absolutely do what the docs and therapists tell you. Eventually you'll start to feel good and think you can push it...... DON'T!! Move to fast and you'll get to start all over again. You can guess how we learned that fact. We pray for you and your wife to have a full recovery. Thank you for your willingness to serve us all by defending this great country. Even if you can't deploy at this time, what you do is important and appreciated. Dave
  7. Praying for all the best for your daughter and her family. Dave
  8. I felt like I traveled back in time. Great realism!!
  9. We had to put down our beagle of 15 years recently and it was hard. I often find myself looking at his kennel, expecting him to look back. How much they become a part of us and our families, enough that we know we have to let go. Dave
  10. I got a Utopia backrest for my '86. Might want to check them out. It made a huge difference. Add the Butt Butler mod, and I have no problem riding. Dave
  11. I'm not sure if this is the exact helmet my wife and son both use. But HJC is one of the helmets that we found that was more narrow and significantly reduced/eliminated the wind noise. They both have faceshields installed. My son installed a headset in his with little effort.
  12. Karl- Praying that all goes well!! Dave
  13. Prayers sent for a quick, full recovery!! Dave
  14. Easy to do: http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/ Dave
  15. I live in the Salt Lake City area and with just have hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and many of the US training facilities here, we are atuned to the Winter Olympics maybe more than others. I've seen quite a few ads by the TV network talking about the Olympics being televised but I don't recall any ads by Vancouver BC promoting BC or their hosting. Maybe more as it gets closer or during the Olympics. It's a great experience and an exciting time. We didn't have the chance to see any of the events live (lots of $$$) but we did go downtown a couple of times to the awards pavalion and just hang out outside the venue and listen to the presentations and music and still had a fun time. Dave
  16. Somehow the adjective "sweetie" just doesn't seem to fit someone named Spear. Good mate, great guy, OK but sweetie? It was really great Spear, keeping us in the loop. Dave
  17. Glad to see back on here!! Heal quick and well, your ride will wait for ya. Dave
  18. Doug- It doesn't sound like you have any serious problems with your bike and you probably aren't too far from Don's place in Ohio. You might want to look into attending Maintainence Day. They have lots of great, experienced guys there that can teach you how to take care of your machine. Plus I understand there's a pond monster for entertainment! Dave
  19. If Vic can't get it working, you can purchase a replacement power supply for about $75.00. I like to use Mozilla Firefox. It does run into a compatibility issue every once in while but doesn't have near the virus exposure of Internet Explorer. Dave
  20. Well, as of a few minutes ago, Jan is taking off to spend a little more than a week in the Big Apple! Last year work took by to NYC and Jan was able to go with me. We had a blast visiting sites, going to a play and seeing her brother and sister-in-law that live there. Jan managed to do a little shopping etc while I worked. For Christmas, Jan asked to go again and visit and hopes to be able to take in as many plays as she can. So now, what to do with myself. Maybe I'll get her engine guard installed on her sportster that she doesn't know about (the engine guard, not the sportster). Think, think, think..... Dave
  21. I have an extra large Clearview shield with the vent and love it!! It doesn't stop passenger buffeting as much as it does for the rider. I haven't ridden in much rain but didn't have any leakage during mild to medium rain. It's an excellent windshield purchase. Dave
  22. Welcome Digger. We need more of us here in SLC!! Nice bike!!

    1991

Phil- Thanks for sharing. Helps remind me of what's to come this summer. It even helps alleviate the cabin fever for the moment. Keep 'em coming!! Dave
  24. MamaMo- I don't know what they are called or what brand but nurses have some pretty good shoes they like because they are on their feet most of the time they work. I can ask my son-in-law when I get home tonight. Dave
