  1. I was off for 15 years myself. When I got back on it was an 89 venture. Can't think of a better way to start again. When I get real old:backinmyday: and need to slow down some, then I guess i'll have to trade it in for a 2nd gen . But right now my 1st gen and me are bonded.
  2. I am afraid I have never been subjected to all these terms and acronyms. I ride my bike like it is an extension of my own body , I do not have a specific time to look as I am looking constantly at all times. I negotiate a turn by dropping speed into the turn and powering through and out of the turn. As mentioned early I seldom lean with the bike,I think because the bike is top heavy to start with a simply lean the bike under me while i myself retain a relative upright posture during a normal turn. having said that I may lean some with the bike depending on how fast i am going through a turn.
  3. i ONLY OPENED IT BECAUSE I THOUGH IT WAS POSTED BY SOMEONE CALLED BUFFY:innocent-emoticon::doh:
  4. WAY TO GO ANNIE. NOW THAT YOU GOT THAT NICE BLUE MACHINE YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO BE BLUE.:dancefool::dancefool:
  5. You make this all sound like a bad thing. I don't get it... After all why would you even try to change perfection:big-grin-emoticon:
  6. If like adventure, and have good sense of direction, get a map. If you need to be led on a leash to get were you wanna be, get a GPS:big-grin-emoticon:
  7. That scoot looks just fantastic. Can't wait to see it close up. I don't know how you do it though, if it was my scoot I would have hovered over it like an old mother hen from start to finish.
  8. Good luck and ride safe Yammer.
  9. sweet rig !!!! But like Yammer say's practice handling in tight manouvers at a crawl, because that is were the venture differs from other bikes and is at its most awkward. Above 5 mph and at high speed the venture practically handles itself and you just need to enjoy the RIDE:thumbsup::dancefool:
  10. 1000? congratulations you finally completed your apprenticeship:ice_congrats-vi6886:group cheers: now quit slacking off and get down to some serious posting:big-grin-emoticon:

  13. Tan before you photograph your moon :rotfl:
  14. those tires were well past worn out. Look for a date stamp on the side of the tire I bet there fairly old, tires tend to start cracking when age catches up to them. in any case they should have been replaced many miles ago. The dunlop 491 E2 has wear indicators in the tread groove those tires have far surpassed that.Another factor is being as they are as badly worn as they are the rubber is probably starting to separate from the cord.
  15. The jester is good in merit but the bad side effect of this is everytime one group gets something from the government a dozen other special interest groups pop up wanting something, and not all with the best intentions. I say it was ok with the government in power at the time so leave it be. tell the ACLU to go pound salt and get off of the tax payers dole.
  16. forgive my ignorance but who is the ACLU and what bussiness do they have to dishonour men by dessicrating a monument that was probably put up before they were even born. And so what if it is on government land, it was for the government and the nation they fought and sacrificed. Canadians should also be aware, because once it starts in the USA it will soon start here too.
  17. This is sad news for all. I was really hopeing he would pull through. Tom be sure to pass all my sympathy on to the familly, my prayers are with him and his family. May he know everlasting peace.
  18. He's pretty tame right now since he has a gimpy leg, just the same stay clear of his teeth......... :rasberry:
  19. I wear black terra lite work boots that have a zipper on the side instead of laces. they work great. They have good traction soles a steel toe, And if you rub snow seal, dubbin ey keep you or bees wax in them every once in awhile they keep your feet dry. I put lots on then let them bake in the hot sun so the leaqther soaks it right up. Best of all they are affordable and available at any work boat outlet, but look like a biker boot.
  20. Another option is to heat the head of the bolt red hot then quench quickly with cold water (may have to do more than once ) this causes the bolt to shrink slightly and loosen in the threads and avoids heating parts you would rather not replace. replace the bolt with a new one after, as the temper will have changed. Another way to heat it If you don't have a torch but you have an arch welder handy is to place the ground clamp on the bolt place a carbon rod in the rod holder and ground the carbon rod right to the head of the bolt and hold it there until it is red hot (use a large dia. carbon rod), then again quench with cold water. beauty of this tecnique is no flame to burn anything else BUT DO DISCONNECT YOUR BATTRY CABLES
  21. There was---a deer boy with a drinking problem---:dancefool:
