  2. Figures only a DUTCHMAN would count exactly how many coffees a guest would drink. On the other hand I'm not sure just how Dutch he is. You see I noticed that when he tosses a cigarette that he has been smoking there is still 1/16 " of white paper left, No true Dutchman would waste that much tabbaco:rotfl:In the end it was a good visit, although Carl may not feel the same way seeing as how I cut into his nappy time. BTW since he dropped his pants for me :225:I can honestly testify that he has a legitimate excuse for not being on the job, that leg looked nasty, I mean even more so than his good one. You know he actually has it pretty good though Marca really caters to him, I wouldn't be suprised if he milks this for all he can.
  3. Sooo Sorry to once again have to hear of a biker down. Here's hopeing and praying that James makes a speedy and complete recovery.
  4. I have the scala rider as well and i use it with a half helmit. the velcro back speakers stick nicely to the helmit liner and have them just ahead of my ear and just up from the edge of the helmit and can hear them perfectly, I actually have to turn the volume down a bit.
  5. you can straighten them. DON"T USE HEAT. secure the part in a vice use wood or other material to keep from scratching. Get hold of a large adjustable wrench. close the jaws on the bent tabs and carefully pry them back in shape.
  6. A simpler solution would simply be to reduce taxes to the working class. The working class are the ones who keep money circulating. It would not require additional expenses to the government because its not like you would have to set up another expensive program, which costs tax payers money in order to implament it. Companys are suffering because the working class is not buying. Giving away tax payer's money does not increase sales since in order to provide it you must further tax an already tax burdaned working class. As the old saying goes moving manure from a pile behind one barn to a pile behind another does nothing. You got to spred it around the field to make things grow.
  7. Ditto
  8. That goes for me to Don:bowdown::bowdown:
  9. Me too,a burgandy second gen I passed him ( on my 1st gen of course) on wellington rd 124 just above acton ( ok I admit we were going in opposite directions) looked like he was headed towards kitchener.
  10. Sure wished I went. I have the week off but but the little lady with the big stick say.s I'm not allowed to go out and play until I put a dent in the honey dew list. Oh well I'll just make up for it by going over to Marcarls one day this week and dish out some of that good old VENTURE SYMPATHY
  11. Hey I know it has been suggested putting hamburger on your leg but I really don,t think you needed to add mustard and what ever other condaments you felt like adding.:rotfl::rotfl: BTW I am on vacation this week so don,t be surprised if I come rolling up your driveway one day soon
  12. The bell works best if it is a gift received. Maybe you two should buy one for each other.
  13. Yes the Tom Tom updates are free and contineus ( EG: no one expiry)and much simpler to do than the garmin. ( my friend has a garmin and since he does not have a computer I do his updates for him so it gives me a reasonable comparison base). As well Tom Tom recocmends you do your updates on a weekly basis because thet have what is called map sharing and map correction. If any Tom Tom owner notices an error in the map or a new road not yet on the map he can put that info directly into his gps. the next time you do an update Tom Tom downloads this info, and as soon as it varify's that the info is correct makes it availble to all other Tom Tom users. Another nice feature is You plan an itinarary and if riding with a group then you share it with other members in your group.
  14. Hamburger???---What ever happend to using steak? ---Has the recession gotten that bad:big-grin-emoticon:
  15. I was told by a company that makes plexi glass windshield for bike boats and all sorts of other things to never use regular glass cleaner on plexi glass. Boaters do it alot and apparantly this causes there windshields to turn yellow. he recomended clear water only. With respect to rain-x I have used it on my car and hated it, could not wiat to get it off. I found it was cause headlights from on coming cars to glare as though i had a greasey windshield.
  16. I have just one question , I looked real hard at the pics . so which is the bad knee? Ok maybe two questions, you older than dirt what the heck were you thinking? seeing as how I am an understanding sort of guy I'll say a prayer or two for you just the same and ask the good Lord to allow you a speedy recovery. I may even drop by when you least expect and lecture you  PS Wizard no fair, for a minute there you had me right bummed out:95:

  18. AHH THE TRIVIAL THINGS 2ND GENS HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WITH A 1ST GEN IS HOLDING ON WHEN YOU OPEN HER UP:bikersmilie::bikersmilie:
  19. i have a Tom Tom rider 2 my only grievence with it is that the screen is hard to see in bright sunlight. For the rest it works greatIt comes with a blue tooth headset which attaches to your helmit the speaker is the size of a quarter and simply uses velcro to stick it any were in your helmit without making any modifications. mine is currantly stuck inside my 1/2 helmit and the sound is clear as a bell. The mike attaches in the usuall fashion. If your cell phone has blue tooth it ties in real nice and works great right through the gps and the head set. When the gps senses motion you can only answer incoming calls , you have to stop to make an out going call , but once conected you can continue to ride. I find the mapping excellent and updating is free. I find it more user freindly than the garmin as well.
  20. thats because ventures are like well trained quarter horses, turns with just the slightest shift of weight.
  21. Personally I don't like going much over 70 mph. Whenever I do I get this distinct THUMP THUMPING thing going on. It only seems to occur when I am riding 2 up, and it tends to resonate from the top of my helmit. for some reason only I notice it my wife never does.:think:
  22. NEW FORM OF KIDNAPPING Please take a minute to read this. This is very scary and could happen to any of us.. Seems like every nice thing people do for one another can be perverted. A new twist on kidnapping from a very smart survivor: About a month ago there was a woman standing by the mall entrance passing out flyers to all the women going in. The woman had written the flyer herself to tell about an experience she had, so that she might warn other women. The previous day, this woman had finished shopping, went out to her car and discovered that she had a flat. She got the jack out of the trunk and began to change the flat. A nice man dressed in a business suit and carrying a briefcase walked up to her and said, 'I noticed you're changing a flat tire. Would you like me to take care of it for you?' The woman was grateful for his offer and accepted his help. They chatted amiably while the man changed the flat, and then put the flat tire and the jack in the trunk, shut it and dusted his hands off. The woman thanked him profusely, and as she was about to get in her car, the man told her that he left his car around on the other side of the mall, and asked if she would mind giving him a lift to his car. She was a little surprised and she asked him why his car was on other side. He explained that he had seen an old friend in the mall that he hadn't seen for some time and they had a bite to eat, visited for a while, and he got turned around in the mall and left through the wrong exit, and now he was running late. The woman hated to tell him 'no' because he had just rescued her from having to change her flat tire all by herself, but she! felt un easy . (Trust that gut feeling!) Then she remembered seeing the man put his briefcase in her trunk before shutting it and before he asked her for a ride to his car. She told him that she'd be happy to drive him around to his car, But she just remembered one last thing she needed to buy (Smart woman!!) She said she would only be a few minutes; he could sit down in her car and wait for her; she would be as quick as she could be She hurried into the mall, and told a security guard what had happened, the guard came out to her car with her, but the man had left. They opened the trunk, took out his locked briefcase and took it down to the police station. The police opened it (ostensibly to look for ID so they could return it to the man). What they found was rope, duct tape, and knives. When the police checked her 'flat' tire, there was nothing wrong with it; the air had simply been let out. It was obvious what the man's intention was, and obvious that he had carefully thought it out in advance. The woman was blessed to have escaped harm. How much worse it would have been if she had children with her and had them wait in the car while the man fixed the tire, or if she had a baby strapped into a car seat? Or if she'd gone against her judgment and given him a lift? I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only; but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.., you may want to pass it on to them, as well. Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that The world we live in has a lot of crazies in it. Better to be safe than sorry. PLEASE BE SAFE AND NOT SORRY
  23. Also the lock assembly has a seal and were the pins go through, water will get in if the rubber is worn there, another spot is between the trim band and the plastic on the upper lip. the water tends to wick through. rather than take it apart to seal it go to a gm dealer and ask for the liquid silcone they use to reseal sunroofs. you just run a thin bead along the edge and let it run in. There are also some small holes behind the back rest that should have rubber plugs in them make sure they are not missing. Imagine all this knowledge and all I had to do to get it, was get wiped out on a bike by a cager, buy it back from the insurance and rebuild it. Such an educational deal !!!!
  24. Using the tailight instead of another ignition source to shut down the main power relay is an interesting concept ( i like it)
