clutch friction zone
saddlebum replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The easist way I know of getting a feel for the friction zone and (and I use this when teaching people to drive standard caras as well ) is with the vehicle parked, in gear and brakes applied slowily let the clutch out until you feel the engine rpm drop or the engine about to stall then pull the clutch back in ( with a car push it back down) Do this over and over again and each time try to do it a little quicker. After awhile your mind and hand just seem to instinctivly know were to expect this transition to take place, and you dont even have to think about it. -
What do these plugs say
saddlebum replied to BuddyRich's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
A little rich on the fuel but not too bad for a bike, check the condition of your air cleaner. Also that insulator is very white indicating that the plug itself may be just a little too hot try going down one heat range on the plug. the perfect colour of the insulator should be a light to medium tan. Use extreme caution on the water trick. Yes it does clean the carbon, but on a badly carboned engine it some times frees it up in chunks which in extreme cases can do valve damage. Sometime its safer to use one of the commercial cleaners because they soften the carbon up, rather than just kind of blast it of in pieces. -
How is the TOP of your HELMET I am sure Marca must have been doing a drum roll with her fists right about then:rotfl::rotfl:

Glad your Ok must be the weather . I had a car in the third lane but behind me want the ramp on the right . I nstead of lowing down and cutting across behind me to get over for which he had lots of room he had to speed up pass me and cut across right in front of me squeezing between me and the car in front of me as well as force me over to give him room. Wish I had the truck instead of the bike at that moment.

Yes good luck Bob may the force be with you

There is nothing the matter with you, You are a MOTHER and what your feeling is right and natural. Prayers and best wishes sent your way, and as Boomer say's just be ready for that big smile when he steps back onto the ground and give him the biggest hug a mother ever gave a son.

Good luck Carl and make sure you take your list of signatures with you. Small operators like yourself need to be heard.

Lonna whos infamous cheese cakes I finally got to sample (hope I didn't cut into your action to severly Big Tom:innocent-emoticon: ) Squidly Who I found out actually only has 2 tennn ahh I mean arms' who should hire himself out as a professional MC Great job Squidly,Of course Bongobobny was there handing out spare parts a man with not just a golden bike but a heart of gold as well ,And A real big hand :dancefool:to all the guy's working on others bikes ((a special thanks to Carl (aka Marcarl) who helped me out with some of my issues)) they were all just an awsome bunch of guys. Man that really sucks Bob I am real sorry to hear about this. More importantly however is that you are OK and Here to tell the story. That as always is our #1 concern. Ps on our way home we saw a big black dog trying to drag a dead deer away from the road wonder if that was your deer:think: Take care Bob hope to see you and Becky again soon
