These won't work for the first gens. No stems on them they just set on the fairing. Nice try though,,,,..... Jerry

Agree with couple others here, I'd be Leary of the soft floor, translates to water soaked plywood. The floor is usually plywood covered with fiberglass. If the boat leaks or has been setting with water in it, then the plywood soaked up the water and leads to the soft bottom. Kind of hard to repair and could have soaked into the transom. Out board in this size boat is usually a good choice for power. Also like mentioned above boat choices depend on what you are going to do with it. And all boats have holes in the bottom, that's where the money goes. We have owned several boats though the years and there are a lot jokes about boat owning. My favorite is "The happiest day in your life is when you buy your boat, the second happiest day in your life is when you SELL it." Have fun, Jerry

I think somewhere around here there is an article showing how to repair/rebuild the ignition switch. It might be over at Venturers.org site. But I've seen it somewhere. On the other hand, $120 sounds like a fairly good price for a new one. Jerry

Sherry, Glad to see you on here again and also glad you guys are coping. As for the Expert witness, you guys are jumping the gun a little here I think. She is going to a deposition and here in Illinois there will be not Judge there. Just the attorneys. They just tell their side of the story and then it will be decided if the case goes to court or if someone wants to settle it now. Maybe they will make you an offer after the deposition and you can get on with things. Bummer thing to have to go through though. Jerry -
Not really but I seem to favor the right side when I'm riding. If I'm on a two lane highway I try and ride the center line more. I ride with a couple and he wife's makes him ride out at the line away from the edge because she if afraid of the edge for some reason. So if they are along he has to ride the line so I would normally ride the edge then. She is so bad that if you ride the center he has to also ride the center. Jerry

I have a friend that calls my bike a "Harley-want-to-be" no I tell him it's a "Harley-ought-to-be" It's all in fun.......I think..... Also a couple of years ago I stopped at a stop light (good thing right?) and this guys pulls up beside me on waht appears to be a brand new Road Start and says to me "nice bike, what kind is it) I say same as yours and ride off. Goose, They must have changed the manual sometime during the production, my manual (2001) makes no reference to how the turn signals automatically turn off. The only mention is actually on page 3-8 in my manual. Strange they make no changes to the bike in 9 production years but they change the manual.... go figure.... Jerry

The signals do cancel on time, not sure how long it takes but they do cancel on time or distance. Mine cancels every once in a while while sitting at a long light. Jerry

Yes we have the brakes on some trailers, here in Illinois after the trailer gets to 3,000 gross pounds (weight of course) then they have to have brakes and only electric. But the chains are real important for keeping the trailer under control. Jerry

As it turns out I don't think I am going to make it there again this year. But I have helped roast several pigs and as I recall all you have to do is keep the pig turning with good hot coals under it and drink lots of beer. Don't know about 5 am though, might just have to start the night before....... Jerry

Not sure what I pay but I too have only Liability but on two bikes. Geico. Of course there is a lot of different parts to Liability. I carry a pretty high Medical insurance, I find that $10,000 or $20,000 ain't going to buy much if someone riding on the back gets hurt. Jerry

Yeah, sounds like it's starting to slip. The clutches are strange, I've always thought the clutch slips more when the oil is hot but with my RSV it seems to slip more when I first start it up and the oil is cool. Yep, going to have to start thinking about fixing it. It's not something that will just up and quit, it takes a while. Jerry

Yeah it's the PCW kit. I'm not bad mouthing the kit but I have never really liked the type spring that is in the RSV clutch. I'm not real concerned about the strength of the pull but I have another little spot in there that gives the bike a little pull before the clutch actually engages. I agree the discs are within specs so I'm presuming the clutch actually got weaker. Jerry

Just want to relate a few things about the clutch upgrade I just did on my 01 RSV. Instead of replacing the fiber disc's as I have in the past on several bikes I opted to add the extra (it's not really an extra one just a full size disc) remove a couple of washers at the rear of the clutch as well as the wire retainer and install a new and stronger spring. All the information is in the Tech section of this forum. The tension on the clutch lever is a bit more but manageable. Now when the clutch bites it bites a little more than I would like, I don't drag race. The thing that is bothering me the most right now is the engagement point has changed quite a bit, it use to start grabbing about 1/3 of the way out. Not it starts to engage at about the same spot but then releases and doesn't engage until the lever is out to about 2/3's of the travel. Maybe this is something I need to get use to? I'm really thinking about putting the 1/2 disc back in along with the washers and wire retainer but leave the heavy spring in there. I have bleed the brakes just to change the fluid, there was never any air in the system. So for the guys that are running this system, does this sound like the way yours is acting? Jerry

It's just land, the house is not worth much unless you're into the old stuff. I certainly wouldn't want to live in that house. The land looks nice but way over priced it seems to me. Then again I don't have that kind of money anyway. Jerry

I would think a 10 to 15 minute ride would be long enough to know how the bike feels, rides etc. My local dealer told me to take as long as I wanted one time when I was test riding a bike, he called me as he was closing to find out where his bike was, I took it back the next day and bought it. But he knew me. That being said I would get real excited if someone took a ride on my bike for more than 10 to 15 minutes. Jerry
