  3. I have that setup on my Vstar 1300 and I tried to swap speakers for better sound quality and found out that my J&M had 3 wire speakers vs 2 wire for the MotoCom. setup, I also tried a converter plug, that didnt work either, They must use a different wiring for the mike and speakers than the J&M, if you do succede, please let me know, I havent been able to find anything, so I have to have 2 helmets with different headsets, 1 for each bike. Good Luck.
  4. Thanks to you and the others that have posted and donated, every time someone donates, Nancy, Marks wife receives an email about the donation............Thanks again.
  5. Who's coming for some great fellowship and fantastic BBQ?

  7. When I was looking to get another bike last year, I went to the local dealer here that sells 4 brands, the salesman asked me if I wanted to dema a couple of bikes, so I filled out a form and he gave me the keys to a Vstar 1300 and an 06 Roadstar and told me to take my time and have fun........It didnt take me long to return the Roadstar, but I really didnt want to take the 1300 back, I kept it for a couple of hours and he was surprised when I brought it back the same day, I think he expected me to keep it for a day and put some real mileage on it....But the Yamaha's were the only demo bikes they had...............go figure.
  8. Brad, maybe the motorcycle gods are tyring to tell you something, like maybe you shouldnt be on a G2, Hint #1...1st 99 G2 totaled while being ridden by Charlie......Hint #2...2nd G2 totaled while you and Lonna riding it.............Hmmm......is somebody trying to tell me, get that 1st Gen back and forget about that Harley clone...........Dont ever recall any posts about you owning a 1st Gen that got totaled.............If it was me, I might re-think the whole G2 thing.......:stirthepot:

  11. I have been using some, the last 2-3 times I rode the Dragon, I was using the rear braking friction zone to keep me stable in the turns and was able to take the turns much faster and more stable than before.............My u turns are better, using his techinique. I really need to watch it some more, as soon as another VR gives it back to me...........
  12. Larry, I never thought that the bike we picked up after your accident last year would ever be the same again, but I have to say, that is one fine looking machine you have built. You have done a great job in transforming that torn up bike into a beautiful showpeice.............. Congratulations............awesome.........fantastic........if it rides half as good as it looks you got a real winner on your hands........cant wait to see it first hand...............

  16. I know in these troubled economic times, that not everyone can easily donate to a cause. If you are unable too, thats okay, any amount we raise will go to a great cause in Marks honor. But please, please visit the page and sign in even if you havent met Mark, or messaged with him, lets show our support and love, like the big family VentureRiders are. If you have a memory or something you want to say to his family, here is the place to do it. Dont do this for me, do it for Mean Dog.. Thanks
  17. If anyone has any pics of Mean Dog, Mark Still, if you could send them to me I would like to post them in an album that is located on a Tribute Page for Mark, on the St. Jude Children's Hospital web site. There are some pics there that I had from Vogel 2007 and the Memphis ride to St. Jude. This was a charity that Mark was passionate about, and in Marks honor we can donate to St. Jude via this page. There is also a guest book that you can sign and leave a message or memories of Mark. I know Mark would be happy if we could raise more money for the hospital to help find a cure for the disease that took his and many other lives. I have set an ambitous goal of $10,000.00 to be raised in his honor. Every time a donation is made, Nancy, Marks wife will receive an email stating that a donation has been made in Marks memory. Mean Dog's Tribute Page @ St. Jude

  20. Guess I missed that one, but it not a real 1st Gen..................its a 2nd Gen, 1st Gen...............:stirthepot::rotf:
  21. I just find it hard to believe, that if that is the case, they didnt realize that something like this could happen............I hope it isnt. No offense taken, If I loved La. so much, I wouldnt have moved to the Atlanta area now would I. :whistling: I do believe that we should all take much more care to avoid those reflectors at all costs, less we have another incident like yours or one of the others mentioned in the threads I posted. By the way, I see there is a 1st Gen for sale at a good price, you really did look at home on mine when you sat on it..........:stirthepot:
  22. You guys really sound good, so keep up the good work and have fun, and keep us posted on new music you guys record..........I like what I have heard so far...................Its a lot better than some of the stuff that passes for music............
  23. As long as it isnt Dueling Banjo's:rotf::rotf:
  24. Brad, can you tell me where you got this info from, I have my theories after learning that some of the reflectors down south are spiked into the asphault. Perhaps one of the reflectors was missing or broke and allowed the retaining spike to puncture the tire. Seeing as how I lived over 50 years in that area, this is something new to me. I have been behind many a state DOT truck putting down those reflectors, and I have wittnessed the process, which is applying a lot of epoxy to the bottom of it and placing it on the roadway. Maybe they have changed the technique by which they do it, and I would say, if that is the case that they need to go back to the old way to prevent accidents of this nature from re-occuring. I did a little research and came up with some alarming findings. http://cbs2chicago.com/local/Blindsided.road.reflectors.2.324840.html http://cbs2chicago.com/seenon/road.reflectors.2.324518.html http://www.newsnet5.com/news/7410125/detail.html This is pretty scary and eye opening...........The pictures they show look like the reflectors have a metal base and are epoxied to the roadway and the heavy reflective part is breaking loose and flying into unweary drivers...
  25. My 2 cents, is that they make motorcycle tires for bikes and car tires for cars...............it works for me and thats the way I will keep doing it..........I trust the engineers that build tires and test them to the limits for us so we can be safe in or on whatever we are riding. For those that want to push the envelope, ride safe and keep the shiny side up.:080402gudl_prv:
