Welcome Pete, as Eck said, come out and join us at our meet and eat next weekend. Here is the link to it.....N. Georgia Meet & Eat 4/10/08 If you come out you can get some first hand info on the bike, and who knows, some 2nd gen owner might even let you try out their ride.........wont be me, I ride a 1st gen, the real Venture...........but its down for a facelift right now so I will be on my other ride.........You will meet lots of great VR family......and have a great time to boot. So much for the pitch..........Welcome to the site hope you find a comfortable ride for you and your co pilot wether it be a Venture or what ever, you will always be welcome here........... -

I hope and pray all of our Virginia members are ok after all those storms passed through that area...........Looks pretty bad on the news coverage...............Prayers for all those left homeless and injured..........hope there were no serious injuries or death.

Thanks again for being the high bidder on that flag at Vogel.............Money went for a very good cause........St. Jude. At least I still have a photo copy of the letter that was attached to it.......I will treasure that also............. And thanks again to Cliff Fargason for donating the flag and his time serving to protect for our freedom..........

Yep, know what you mean, I found a pair of pliers and a screwdriver and some sort of connector when I took all the plastic off, didnt even know I was missing those tools..........:confused24:

Bunches of zip loc bags for all the small stuff, labeled where and what for.................been there, done that, aint going thru looking for the needle in the haystack, learned the hard way plus got plenty of spare screws and washers left over from previous projects.................:whistling:

To get a lot uglier before it starts looking any better, thats for dang sure...................I have been putting this off for some time now....but there is not time like the present.:whistling:

The more plastic I take off, the more I find that I have to fix...........this is gonna be a tedious job..........25 year old plastic is pretty brittle...........parts that werent broken or cracked suddenly decide they need to be.............:confused24: Off to the parts store for more supplies..............$$$$$$$$$

Was that the flag that was donated by Gray Ghost, Cliff Fargason? He donated one for Vogel last year and it helped raise funds for St Jude.........glad its in good hands and showing the family of that serviceman that we care................That was great of you to donate if for that cause...............Thanks for sharing.

Now that the weather is nicer, I am finally starting the makeover of my black beast, havent decided what color to go back with.......but I will have time to decide while I tear all the plastic off and start repairing all the cracks and tabs. Hopefully it will be finished before Maint. dayt at Freebirds, if not the V Star will carry me there. Wont be as comfortable as the Venture but if will be a good ride. I will post pics as per rule #1...........If anybody as any helpful tips I am open for them. So here is the start............
