  2. Seem to remember seeing a map of our active members somewhere...??? Found the: " Venture sightings" map. ????????????
  3. flyinfool"Unless I win the lottery, building my own plane will most likely just remain a dream. But I still might just buy an older plane if the right deal should happen along at the right time." Is this kit when built an "experimental plane", Vaguely seem to remember about factory built and kit built http://www.experiencefestival.com/experimental_aircraft_-_faa_definition_of_experimental_aircraft "In the eyes of the United States Federal Aviation Administration, an Experimental Homebuilt Aircraft is not constructed by a licensed aircraft manufacturer. Instead, at least 51% of the aircraft is constructed by a private individual; the remaining 49% percent can be purchased from a kit manufacturer. In the past, far less than the allowed 49% of the kit was assembled by the manufacturer of the kit" My 8 th grade math teacher "Mr. Hicks" flew one into the ground first time up... in hospital for 6 months, kind of ended any yearning of mine for kit planes... Seem to recall a break even number of 200 hrs? per year or so when comparing renting a plane to owning/hangering/maintaining. It's a very expensive hobby. I'm with you unless I hit the lottery... almost no chance of building or buying one ... That being said, if I do hit the lottery, there will be a Honda Jet in my hanger! http://hondajet.honda.com/default.aspx
  4. Just a thought but are any of our members close to you that have risers installed? That way you at least get the feel of what they will do. I know of at least one person that raised his forks in the triple clamps after they sat on my bike ... Right FRED?
  5. Please use Florida Keys Spring Break under rallies for comments and suggestions. Created the thread, to condense the schedule at top of page to make our itinerary easy to find... Sorry for any inconvenience http://www.venturerider.org/forum/sh...threadid=66499

  7. I'm thinkin it would fall under the experimental category???
  8. check remember me on signin read up on : Manage my stored network passwords in the user account that you want to change. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306541
  9. Just make sure you have the gas petcock turned off and a fire estinguisher close by... probably not much danger doing it with a hair dryer but I'm thinkng some well placed hot water(say from a tea kettle) would be a lot safer. OR My wife bought this little steamer deal for under $20... and would definately warm up a cold hose....
  10. "Top Speed: 3330 MPH" Fraid you'd fly the wings off of the ole girl long before you hit that speed...LOL
  11. I'm dissapointed! Thought FAT BOY on the HD that was riding and texting, would surely make the list... Oh well, One can only surmise he lived to talk about it? Besides the story is false about the supposed winner... as confirmed by Snopes http://www.snopes.com/critters/malice/feces.asp
  12. i took 41 west side bout 6 years ago.. remember a lot of stop lights in places(around and north of Napels), but it was good road. Might do a (41, 75, 17, 27) or (41, 75, 41 scenic spots and return to 75) till I hit some of the scenic roads north of Orlando. Although 29 does take you to 27...Hummm. On the down side, 41 last time i rode it, was almost completly void of life... couple of swamp boat rides and an unattended visitors center, not to mention the Love Bugs...LOL. Guess what i need to do is find the Best motorcycle roads in florida and go from there. They just seem to be centralized around Orlando area? Thanks Joe
  13. Eck would need to add at least one "emergency Cell phone", in addition to the one he carries, to that list...
  14. "This is not an issue about piracy or artist rights this is an issue about freedom of the press, and YOUR your ability to exercise that right fully." Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) I'm not disagreeing with what this act will allow the government to do. But do you really think they would get the permission of the people if they didn't float the idea as they did?
  15. Don't worry street tires and gravel roads aren't the best combination... not to mention the dust kicked up for the people bringing up the rear...
  16. Karls, Well now...that's what I get for clicking on florida before readng entire page...LOL Thanks Joe
  17. "How is it that if you steal a loaf of bread because you are hungry, you will go to jail? And certain people will line up to put you there. But if you use the internet to steal another's life work, those same people scream freedom of speach issues. " There's a big difference between (digitally copying and stamping a cd with lyrics in a nice case offering it for sale) and (copying the songs from say youtube....to your HD) How many of you oldtimers can truthfully say you haven't recorded songs, off of the radio onto a cassette tape :whistling:so that you had the songs "YOU wanted to hear"? there's absolutely no difference with copying it to your hard drive.... as long as YOU arent personally profiting from it, I don't have a problem with it. Besides, I cant think of any artist that has a CD that I would want to listen to from start to finnish... and , if i can't copy a song off of the internet...I will copy it with my dvd recorder from MTV or VH1. Or buy some cassettes and record the sound from "anysource"... Hey I think I may have just found a use for my cassette player....
  18. "Have you ever tried this web site." Yup.... been looking at it for the last couple of days... Still haven't found a legend as to what the green and blue colors mean. Rt 27 is green from Miami to above Lake okechobee? Thats why I asked here. M61A1MECH, Brakepad both said it was a boring ride... Better to get first hand info from people that have actually ridden it. I rode the eastern portion and there were a couple of spots around the Lake O. that was scenic... Think if were gonna do anything Scenic its gonna have to be north of Orlando... Might come up the west coast and cut across middle of florida on the way back... Thanks Guys...
  19. YUp that worked! they are all in your last reply 10 pics thats weird now there are 10 X's above the "maybe this will work cross fingers emotion con" but below that are 10 good pics ! there are also 34 x's in your the first reply hope this helps...
  20. +1 on handlebar risers Adjust you bike to fit you... http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/streetsurvival/adjusting_your_bike/index.html
  21. "Yamaha customers can now get many models for the same price they would have paid 7 or 8 years ago, even with the product technological advances that have happened in the meantime.” did they change something on the 2012 model that isn't on the 2004 RSV??? Flames on the tank? Doesn't make sense unless of course they are trying to reduce inventory? I'm hoping this a signal that they are going to come out with a NEW IMPROVED RSV, and not a sign of it's demise.
  22. Either you had x rated pics or.....
  23. Dont see anything in the Favorite Roads and Destinations for Florida? On Way back from the keys in March, I am thinking about talking Rt 27 on 3/30-31/2012. Took the southern leg of 27 a couple years ago then jogged east of lake okechobee. Was 2nd week of June and the love bugs were terrible. 1. When is love bug season (there are 2?) 2. Would like to do the west side on this trip... Anyone travel it from start to finnish?
  24. might need to turn the packing nut to the left.(left hand threads)Doubtfull though... you can always soldier the supply lines. since thats a garden tub, it will require a garden tub faucet which delivers a lot more volume than an ordinary faucet...and yes ... you gessed it THEY COST MORE! atleast a couple hundred bucks, so be careful, as most are rebuildable normally held on,from the bottom and have a quick disconnect plastic water line to main faucet. Packing??? I haven't seen that since the bullet-proof Gerber faucets. faucet mfgrs. don't make em like that anymore. Think about it, why would they sell you a piece of packing or a rubber washer for 25 cents, when they can get $50 out of ya for a valve replacement... We live in a throw away world... oh go to lowes and buy an access door 6 x 12" and install shutoff valves above floor on hot and cold(i perfer the shark bites)
  25. before I had multiple computers I went thru like 6 screens and did screen prints of the settings for Outlook express... that way ther's no guessing. Now I just carry my laptop to wherever, and scrool thru the screens.
