While killing some time at a local Harley shop before the Pig roast Saturday I saw what I believe is the perfect 200 mile and under bike for me. It's the 2010 Harley Fat Boy Black Corduroy Wooo Hoo what a sweeeeeeeeeeeet bike only thing I'd change is the chrome handlebars and headlight ring Yup... flat black and brushed aluminum ... ZERO CHROME!

do you have 100 amp disconnect or 200 amp? If it's 100 amp you can hook it up like this. Please disreguard the satelite cables. If its 200 amp you have to hook up differently I plug my Ranger 8 welder generator into the recptacle at the bottom and then flip the switch. This hookup insures the service side is not energized while hooked up to my generator!

mark, I'd do the math on a purchase like this. I did and it's a heck of a lot cheaper for me to stay in an air conditioned Motel than to buy and maintain a camper...

:sign yeah that: We've got a BINGO! that's why I run my engines till they are outta gas. then drain gas out of the tank if i'm not going to be using it for a couple of months. If you have gas that doesn't have ethanol in it, you can get away with as much as 6 months sit time. Your smaller engines will still need stabil if they are going to sit that long.

Was researching trailers that offer brakes and found some that offer but don't recommend them as if you hit a bump it could activate the brake.??? WHAT??? look for "moderator" post on ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKE SYSTEM: http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28008 Personally, I wouldn't haul a trailer without brakes as I've pulled many in my life and they will save your bacon in an emergency braking situation on wet roads

I thought it might have something to do with all these naked chats going on...

They(cell phone manfacturers) should make them inoperable unless operated thru blue tooth or hands free technology if your moving. As said before a built in GPS could determine this very easily. excption:911 calls They(car manfacturers) should also install technology into all vehicles that doesn't allow it to start if your impaired from drug or alcohol use. They (GOV) have already made seatbelts mandatory. (a good thing) They (GOV & lawyers)have forced manfacturers to perform recalls for faulty equiptment. (a good thing) Regardless of wether or not our GOV decides to create new laws on these issues, since they have already made it against the law to drive and text, it will only be a matter of time before the lawyers come out of the woodwork to sue the bejesus out of the nay-sayers/non-compliers. That my friend, will definately motivate the cell phone companies and car manfacturers into making some common sense changes. Talks...

fixit3546: If people filed a report/complaint to the State Police every time that happened, belive me the problem would go away.... Description of driver, vehicle, license number, time of day and location/road is just about all you need. If you don't see LEOs patroling the road after about a week, go in nd file a written report. Once it's on record it kicks it up to the next level. Rt# 62 use to be pretty bad around the century aluminum plant.....Emphasis on the use to be...LOL I have also been known to tell the Leos to park at the entrance of my park... (behind my rather large Ruby Lake sign) the point is , people need to get involved, The cops can't be everywhere all the time and they are definately not mind readers. In my experience, the florida turnpike is the absolute worst road I ever traveled on.

I can only hope you guys are jesting/venting about throwing anything from your bikes. If one did they would be no better than the tailgater. And I'm sure a LEO wouldn't be to understanding about it either. In fact, if you were to throw a handful of gravel/marbles/golfballs you'd probably pepper more than one car and perhaps cause a multi-vehicle wreck. Throwing anything from your bike is not only dangerous but unacceptable and I for one won't ride with people that do.

I have pondered the idea of driving a bunch of 16 penny nails thru a 2x4 and attaching it securely to my trunk rack (so it could never come off). Then installing a brightly covered dog leash that ran from the 2x4 to within arms reach.... Thinking if i started tugging on the leash, it might motivate someone to BACK OFF! -OR- attaching the 2x4 so that it bounced around on top of trunk rack(but was secure enough to never fall off) either way... I'm betting it would get their attention

on an interstate I slow down (never below 40) and turn on my 4 way flashers. don't allow others to make you do something illegal/stupid. If someone ball bearinged my car i would definately call 911 and have them arrested. Plus... If you do that to a hothead and they will just run your ass off of the road... on rural roads: at passing zones i slow down till they pass, if they don't,i put my 4 ways on, slow down to a stop, put my kickstand down and wave them by. In one case i went back and explained to the young lady i didn't appreciate her riding my ass, as if a deer ran out in front of me or my engine died for any reason it wouldn't turn out good for me. She gave me the finger and passed my "still on a kickstand bike"...LOL P.S. she was also gabbing away on the phone.

I'll be watching this closely as it would be nice to buy a natural gas generator(s) to take care of my house and my moms house. I also have free gas. This last power outage lasted 4 days and cost well over $1000 when you add in the costs of lost contents in refrigerators and gas to run 2 generators. When I do buy a NG generator however I will make sure to get the orifices/parts necessary to convert it over to LP. as i will take it with me to the farm when i retire and it doesn't have NG. Will the regulators work on both NG and LP?

V7goose:" Those of us who value our rights do not have any way of avoiding those people who get their kicks out of knowing how much they bother others." Actually Pennsylvania has strict decibel thresholds and modificaion rules that if you cross you will be fined. http://www.ehow.com/list_6806471_pennsylvania-exhaust-system-laws.html www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter157/chap157toc.html If your in a state that doesn't have this perhaps you could get something started. Currently Jefferson county is the only county in WV to have a noise level of 65 decibels. I'm going to look into getting it implemented state wide.

Man of Steel: "I had a 74 Gremlin with a V8. Glasspacks, Holley carb and headers. My neighbors hated me." Yeah tell me about it... I'm sure they weren't in love with me either.... Now I cringe every time I hear a super loud bike or car. You know what they say : "What comes around goes around":bang head:...LOL

Ok, I'll try again... got knocked offline due to the severe storms rolling thru here. In my youth I had thrush glass packs on my 73 Formula 400. It had traction bars, 'L' width tires, 4 speed Hurst shifter and an engine that had been "tweaked" a little:whistling:. Long story short, the glass pacs while at first pleasing, became downright annoying as I got pulled over every time "I pulled something" so i got rid of them. With my current hearing loss, I believe I'll stick with my stock pipes on the RSV.

My wife and I both have electronic Hornets and they work as described in their Literature. Anyone thats ever gone hunting knows a loud whistle will, more often than not, stop a deer in its tracks. Deer are inquisitive by nature but everyday noises don't bother them. As I personally hit a deer on a motorcycle, I can tell you it's not something my wife and I want to repeat... As for other loud noises (horns etc..), yeah they might work if you see the deer in time, but thats not always the case. Loud pipes are out for me also as I have partial hearing loss..

Parkersburg, Charleston, Ripley etc... are all without power since 8pm Friday nite. I've got power only because I finally wired up a service switch to the house that allows me to use my Ranger 8 welder/generator. The switch had been sitting around in my garage for 10 yrs? The power of these storms were like none I've seen before. 70 mph + winds ahead of the storms at least 100 miles long blistered through Ohio, WV and Virginia... I've been cutting trees off 3 of my rentals. Power not to be back on till at least thursday...

Brian, Gald to hear your ok... the bones will heal although somewhat slower than they used to...LOL Hope you don't mind but thought we might possibly learn something from this. The Biggest problem I have noticed as I get older, is I get distracted very easily while riding. Perhaps it's complacency from riding most of my life, or, bad habbit or a combination of the two. Here in WV I have learned to stay 2' to the right of center(except around turns) as it gives me more time to react. It also keeps me away from those big drop offs along the edge of the road. I cannot tell you how many times in the past coupla years that I have found myself in the same position you were in. Guess what I'm trying to say is we all need to pay alot more attention while we're riding. As broken ribs take 2-3 mos, you should have a new bike picked out by then. Hopefully it's a 2nd Gen. Right KIC and Yammer Dan?

Unresponsive Cruise Control
CaptainJoe replied to TDsRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Simplest fix, There's a white electrical pigtail on the left handlebar. Pull it apart put some anti-oxidant on it and push back together... Then take her up to 45 mph turn the cruise on (using center switch) and the yellow cruise light should start flashing. After it stops flashing push the set button in for 2-3 seconds and the green light should come on steady. Note: The cruise won't work below 45 mph. Could also be the cables need adjusting (more complex) but not a show stopper... hopefully its just electrical connection, or, the method in which you were trying to engage it... -
DanG! I put over 3000 mi on mine this year, in just one week, bro... You should have come along to Key West ... Are you doing the international Rally? It ain't gonna get any closer than that...
