disconnect the wires from the capacitor , take a screw driver being careful not to touch the metal shank and touch both poles on the capacitor(discharge it) take an ohm meter and set on 1k OHM put black on one post and red on other post if capacitor is good the needle should rise quickly then drop slowly if it doesnt the capacitor is bad (if capacitor is bulged on the end with the posts don't bother ...buy a new one)

The reason we don't have the pipeline from Canada is politics not the free market. If you have evidence that the oil company's are price fixing bring it forward because that is against the law. " thats what i did, disconnect two wires, two screws slide fan unit out, take electric motor squrriel cage out of unit. take to PAM or other electric motor place and they can match Hp and shaft ... cost me about $105.....

Oil companies... ie refineries in the US, are at this very moment selling our refined fuel overseas because they can get $5,$6 or even $7 a gallon instead of $3.50.... If they imposed a $5 per gallon export tax, or, did not allow our fuel to be exported...perhaps we could have gotten that pipeline from Canada... ....................... And our fuel prices would have dropped like a rock!

Everyone knows If you pull a DUI, that doesn't even involve a wreck or any physical damage, your rates will go thru the roof. Progressive has a device you place in your car that takes a "snapshot " of your driving for a possible discount. PEIA offers a discount for being a non-smoker(that way they didn't technically increase the rates for smoker). If you buy that, I have some land for sale...LOL PEIA also wants to offer discounts if you prepare a living will... Soon they will ask if you wear a helmet... Soon they will ask if you wear seatbelts... Soon they will ask if you talk or text on a non-hands free phone...... The health care costs in this country are spiarling out of control. Saw a program that said 10% of US companies will drop health care entirely within the next year. Like I said before: if we as a people cannot logically make some common sense decisions... Others (insurance companies/GOV/lawyers) will force theirs upon us.

Consider this... sell all but one(your favorite one) and use the money to buy a trike... or better yet buy a trike and keep them all! It's a win win situation:whistling:

I noticed a distinct increase in whine using yamalube 10-30 (they were out of 10-40). Do yourself and go with the yamalube 10-40.

Bought a farm in March and discovered about 100 tires in various places. I gathered them up and stuck in a stall in the barn till i can find a place that takes them. :bang head:Tire shops want $5 .

I filed a saftey complaint against Yamaha about a month ago. Seems everyone I talk to with a V-star 650 is having final drive /differntial problems. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/index.xhtml There are three of us here in Ripley that have had Final drive problems and all of us filed a comlplaint. all you need is the VIN number. This problem has been ignored by Yamaha for years started in 2002 if my memory serves me. Yes the Virago 535 pinion gear will swap out with the 650 and they were bullet proof??? File a complaint... If enough people do they will have to do a recall.

Check and lube your linkages. Switch could be sticking also. just depress switch and let go. if it works ok, its your linkages... -
Dan, Swear to God... this bike had less chrome on it than any bike i have ever seen. Probably need to get out of town for a couple weeks so i don't buy her! I know I'll go to Asheville! Redneck, no way! THE OTHER THING i found out is, they already make black handlebars... now if only we can dis that ugly chrome headlight ring...LOL
