  1. I just figured that since he did cause damage he would at least have to spend some time sobbering up downtown.
  2. I thought about it. I did make a comment kinda like that to the LEO and that is when he started getting serious. I just got on the bike and left..... Oh did I mention I am playing golf with his sargent in a tourney on the 21st.... "te he he":dancefool:
  3. Standby for rant! Sat night - 9:PM - driving on a two lane road with center lines - going from a portion with street light to no street lights when out of the bushes along side the road jumps a man (and I use that term loosely right now). I swerve to miss him as my first thought was he was trying to know me off the bike as something fun to do on Sat night. I gathered the bike up, after missing the oncoming cars and pulled into the next road available to get my cell phone and call 911. Yes I was angry. The idiot could have caused me to go down or hit another car head on. As I sat there I could see him with the back light of the street lights right at the edge of the bushes again. This time he runs out in front of a car. Obviously a game of chicken for him. That car looses it and spins around but no harm. The driver of this car continued until she saw me and pulled over. 17 year old girls scared out of her mind. She decides to go back home and talk with her dad. As I look back up two cars are coming and the first one goes left, misses, second one goes right but makes contact tearing his mirror and door hand off the drivers side. All of us ended up sitting on the next side street for the police to show up. While waiting (took over 20 mins) we saw the man go wobbling back up the road from the direction we had all come. I went to keep and eye on him until LEO's showed up. He staggered approx a mile and 1/4 before the police showed up. (another 15 min wait) The officer put him in his car, talked with some obvious friends and released him into their custody saying, "he just needs to sleep it off." Here is the bother..... I could have hit another car head on and been messed up or worse, That 17 yr old girl could have totally lost control and hit a pole or another car, and the three other cars involved could have had similar problems. The officer kinda laughed at the guy with the busted mirror and told him he would have to pay the deductible anyway. What is up with this picture. If I would have been in my suburban, I probably would have hit and killed him and where would I be today??? Am I over reacting or is this picture messed up?

  7. Hey, 5 1/2 months is NOT too long to wait for those GOLD inlay eel leather wrapped levers. Who did you send them to. Maybe someone close can drop by with an armored truck and pick them up for you. Reality, reality...... sorry, I would be a little hacked about 5 months unless there was some good explanation.
  8. Hey....Glad to know. This was on my "motorcycle ride bucket list". Now it's not We could all politely email them and ask for reconsideration of that rule.
  9. I teach at my old Middle School. I dont think this would be fair either.... (interesting comment - My boss is my old basketball coach when I was in the 7-9 grades he has been there 42 years.)

  11. The perfect High Tech tool to protect that cassette player!
  12. I took two small blocks of foam rubber and cut them to fit in the area beside the ears. I did not make them thick enough to touch my ear but close. Then I mounted the Velcro to hold my speaker on this foam. This solved my problem by decreasing the noise and moved the speakers much closer to my ear.
  13. My light did the same. I found that the "protection" around the connector clips behind the lights themselves have hardened probably due to heat and one of mine had cracked and fallen off. (just the top edge.) This allowed the circuit to ground out blowing the fuse. Mine were connected with the headlight circuit taking out the 15amp in the fuse box and leaving my seat with a leather hickey coming down 321 from Blowing Rock, at night.
  14. I ALWAYS keep a bottle of turn signal fluid handy in the shop. I keep it right next to my wire stretcher.
  15. Tank mounted paint ball gun and holster!!!! I know, off topic, but it got me thinking when I read about those to close to you. (gone to wal-mart to look in the sporting goods dept.)
  16. I am a little confused now after my 400 plus mile trip to the NC mtns Monday and Tuesday. :confused07: I checked gas mileage at every stop and it clocked it at 43-45 each time. I have read on here that this mileage is OK. The confusing part is, I feel it is running rough as all get out. I have plans to find someone to assist with a carb sync. Reasons: 1) A little sluggish since I installed baffles and repacked the Bag Slash pipes. 2) Lots of popping with deceleration. Now I am not sure it is a sync problem. Popping is annoying. Any comments.
  17. They will let you change the wording for free.
  18. I have been looking at GPSs for my bike and decided to try out the Telenav that I have on my Blackberry and see how well it works with my Q2s. Initial test shows that it is going to give me the voice prompts during navigation. I also am still able to receive telephone calls while telenav is running in the background. What I have not had the time to check is, If I am on the phone will the telenav still send its voice prompts. Has anyone else run this type of setup and had any luck or trouble? -Blackberry running Telenav Blackberry app. -Scala Q2s set up with phone pairing.
  19. Great looking ride. :2cents:You know, sometimes it is just the little details. I really like what the front fender support and the way it is done. It just adds that little extra. Making it big and following the lines on the tank was a neat move. Enjoy

  22. Bought my 06TD from a Honda Shop down south of town. I called my closest Yamaha delaer and they said I had ten days to make the transfer. Took the bike to them for the "inspection" and paid their rate (I think it was around $85.00) We went into the office and the gentleman(?) took the registration, and proceeded to register the warranty. He cursed a few times during the 30 min process and then said everything is done and that I would get a warranty card in the mail in 7-10 days. I said thank you and left. November-March, no warranty card. I did go to another dealer in the next town and asked if he would/could verify my warranty and he went into the system and said it all looked good. His statement was that he did not think I would get a card. "BTW, I would like to earn your business. Did the other dealer actually check your bike? If not, let us take a look at it for you just to make sure you are ok" I thought this was rather interesting comment. Stay tuned for the rest of the story once learned.
  23. This is really beginning to bother me. Already have had this happen twice in the last 30 days. (yes , i have added two more big lights and flashers too) I hate having to smooth the seat back out after the tension wears off. Sign language works well also! Glad yours ended well too.
  24. Was out last evening to just ride a while and was doing some low speed weaving in my lane. (like weaving the in line cones) was doing about 20-25 and heard/felt a little bumping noise that was reminiscent of a wheel bearing. I stoped and did what I could on the side of the rode to check for a loose front bearing. Don't seem to be that but!!! I checked (searched) the forum and most people said it was probably a tire issue. They look good. Met 880's Before I get it on the rack, What are the best ways to determine the problem in your opinion?
