I had a Tribar black dot Adjure on mine for a while. I really did not like the light pattern. It seemed like a W pattern. Went and put a Bosch in it . Its much better now. Was using the PIAA's in both. I'd check the pattern out in the driveway with a battery and a bulb before I do it again. .

Anybody that ordered these heres some pic of what they look like installed. Remember, The tall side goes inboard. The small block goes underneath to keep upward pressure on them.Any of you that didn't get that small block of polyethelene let me know. Or you can use some thick foam or sponge. Just velcro it so the airfilter doesn't suck it in if it gets loose. Also you'll see a red line in the pics. It shows how the edge should kind of line up. Not exact but like that. Also BE SURE to clean the underside of your lowers with alcohol so the Velcro will stick good. Thanks

vibration at 70mph

I get no vibration even at 120. Probably need a tire balance. -
Tar Snakes are used to keep the road from getting potholes in it. Asphalt is basically whats left over from refining oil, add some rock and you have today's roads. When the asphalt cracks water can get underneath softening the compacted base under it. That creates the pothole. Tar bonds very well to the asphalt and seals the crack . Don't think they will stop using it till they make the roads outta something else

You know, when I was a young'n those cops just didn't take kindly to me ridin my dirt bike to the races. So I been using a trailer whenever I want ever since. And I'll bet I can out ride most . Now that's :rotf: Seriously, Like its been said. As long as its not being used as driveway jewelery then its OK with me how you decide to use it.

Another Cruise Control Problem
BuddyRich replied to Freebird's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think there's a sensor on the gear selector. Mine works in 4th or 5th and not third. Doesn't care about speed as long as your above 35. Just as soon as I switch to 4th the light comes on to engage/Set.Even if I'm only doing 35 in 4th.If I go back down to 3rd it goes off just as I shift it down. -
The replacement lowers are just that. They are only for replacing the plexiglas on the Yamaha Wind Vents. You will need the hardware that comes with the Yamaha Wind Vents

Need your input.

Clean the CRAP outta the bottom and the sides. Use what ever you have to to get it squeaky clean.Don't ride it. Then follow the oil path back. That's the way I always find them. -
I am making the knee blockers now for those who want some. Takes me about a week after you order them. This week I am in CA for 4 days so that will delay any orders made this week by about 4 days. They don't change the amount of wind noise you hear as far as I can tell.

BuddyRich replied to V7Goose's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Gotta replace mine and the lower triple tree. The accident I had in 08 sheared off one of the stops. This is gonna be fun cause all that stuff has to come off. -
Hottest summer in 150 years here in San Antonio. Braggin ??? MAYBE.. I see snow and I have a tendency to run south. Can't get much further south. And you can keep that fog in the CA valley. We don't get fog, we get steam ...

Take 2nd to about 45 or so before you jump to 3rd and watch the fun begin. That is if its broke in already. If you can't beat them in 3rd your probably not going to.

Gerbings Heated Gear and my 09 RSV
BuddyRich replied to csogbk's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Here's where I have mine at. If your running everything you may want to turn the passing lamps off. I have the Kuryakyn volt meter and its always let me know when I was pushing it See post 9 of the thread. Check the bottom for the knee blockers http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=41128 -
We just had a whole summer like that Jack. Jeeze, you guys in CA are spoiled.

If you want to stay a little warmer look at these. Your knee caps won't be frozen anymore. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36265&highlight=wind+knees

I had a set of those hand guards on the RSV. You have to grind away some of the bottoms or they will slap the tank when you go lock to lock.

Yea, Was using the vest in CA all winter. Don't use it much here in TX. They make good stuff. Have the heated gloves also. Hardly ever used them with the vest on though. Had to run the wires to the gloves down my sleeves. They make a heated coat which has the plug ins for the gloves already on the end of the sleeves

Vic, :rotf: He's really short if that's on top of his helmet. We'll I guess it depends on which helmet your referring to. :rotf:

I use to use the first one. It basically just cuts the vest on and off at intervals. Well worth it. http://www.gerbing.com/Products/tempControls.html Its Velcroed on. That's the plug in under the seat. Perfect position. Its also velcroed on. Several times I got off the bike and forgot to pull the plug. The quick disconnect pulled just enough to let me know I forgot and then disconnected.

:bang head::bang head: didn't need that mental image either... :rotf:

Get the adjustable controller. Then you can adjust the temp on the vest and gloves. Put a light fleece jacket over the vest then your jacket and you'll be toasty warm.
