  1. Clean it real good. If you have to just loosen it up and then spray the crap outta it with some liquid wrench to clean the grit outta there. I like gun oil myself to lube it with.
  2. Then that's right. Your speedo is normal I put the speed-o-healer on and its correct now. Really like not having to figure what my speed is in my head.
  3. Yep, I don't even get outta 3rd till 85. Take second to 45. Then 3rd and full throttle. Just remember to hang on..You're still thinkin V-2. It'll take a little practice to get to windin her out.But they like those high RPMS the best.
  4. Check and see if there's a speed-o-healer already installed. It may need to be reset.
  5. Lived in Stockton for 16 years. Those guys are pretty good. They're Over off Cherokee.
  6. http://www.swmototires.com/ Try here. I think they offer us a discount also.
  7. I run 35 in the back. Nada in the front. You can only take the fronts to like 7 I think. Are the Schrader Valves in and snug. You'll need one of those tools for removing the valve stem valve (Schrader valve) to check. You can get them at Walmart for a couple of bucks.
  8. Ah Man, Now we won't be able to call you FireBall..... Where did you wind up taking it? I got mine from Folsom Yamaha. Don't even know if they are still there. And the tank was warm on those hot Valley Days. But then again everything is warm at 110.
  9. Isn't that the speedo is now a VU Meter feature... I would start under the fairing and unplug everything and plug it back in to clean any connectors. Also put a volt meter on it and see if its fluctuating. Double check all grounds.Theres a ground on the fairing frame by the cassette player. Check it also.
  10. You have cupping on them. Mine still had tread at 8 k but had begun to cup and was loud in the turns so I got the Avons.
  11. On the OEM Bridgestones ?
  12. Your rear tire is trash. Run your hand around the edge and you'll fell cupping. The OEM's only last about 8k and are done.
  13. That's why they made 2nd gens.... :rotf:
  14. His destiny is unforetold . The GPS just tells him where the next gas station is. Jeeze, You mean you can't get bolts bent like that already ? Looks Good.
  15. Wanted to know how bright they are. Looks like they may be better the HID. http://www.levineautoparts.com/ledheadlight4.html
  16. I'd hotwire it and see if the problem is solved.
  17. I prefer looking thru it as long as its not raining. Then I want to look over it
  18. No worries, I hate the way the Baker airwings look. Mine look a little better. Problem is when you trying to push air in one direction or the other its not a matter of looks anymore. Its a matter of what works.
  19. :rotf: Define NORMAL..... And then there's your handle...:rotf:
  20. Here you go
  21. I gotta ask. What did you use to get the RSV up into the back of the pickup ? The tailgate took the weight of rider and bike ?
  22. All you can do is try. I can make a set in clear if you like that way they aren't so noticeable.
  23. Thanks goodness, Your going the wrong way.....Jude wants to go south.
  24. You'll know when it starts slipping. Usually in 5th or 4th. You'll crak the throttle and the engine will go faster but the bike don't. Its very noticeable when it starts. I think mine started around 32k.
  25. Cliff, make it just thick enough so you have to squeeze it in. Use some velcro to get them to stick. After a year or so the stuff usually get compressed so you have to replace it. The polyethylene (stuff you find computers shipped in) is stiff enough to push up, but will still compress if you hit something with that lower fairing.
