Yep, Its suppose to get all the way down to 34 down here tonight. But be back up in the mid 60's by Sunday. I thought Alabama had nice southern weather too and a lot more humidity than Houston. But Texas has always had work so thats a plus

I did do my own shims and I seem to remember the lobes facing away from each other but its been a year or more since I did them. It could have been like you said. I would just verify the stroke by watching the valves stems and bring it to TDC on the compression stroke and shim it. I seem to remember that I was also thinking that when I did mine if one was opening then the other valve was surely at its 0 point so I could shim it then.

need more wind deflection for RSV?

Yes. I don't get any air on the knees now. I have the lower wind vents on also. They work really good in the summer to cool the feet and shins but have no effect on the knees where as this mod fixes that. -

The RSV has a lot of wiring and relays inside the lowers. I don't think these will work.

Alan, Here's the pics. Its not rocket science. Just cut a couple of pieces of abs, I think I used 1/8 thick. Heat in a toaster oven to 275 I think . You can tell cause it will get soft. Too hot and it bubbles. With a pair of heavy gloves take a piece out and slide about 4 or 5 inchs of it under the lower fairing and push up to form it to the lower. At the same time form the cup shape on the exposed part to push the air up and out. It will cool fairly quickly and get solid then. Then apply velcro to the under side of the lower and the mating side of your new wind deflector. The wind will be forced up and out. You can see a basic shape to use in the pics. Its a trial and error thing to get the size you need but these have been on for 2 years with no problem. Lots of velcro and maybe a small piece of form on top of the air cleaner to maintain upward pressure on the velcro after it gets a couple of years old. Good luck. -

Theres no after market except maybe the Baker Air Wings. http://www.bakerbuilt.com/yamaha.htm I made a much smaller set that attachs the upper part of the lower fairing. Its fairly easy to do with some sheet abs, a toaster oven, some gloves, and some velcro. -
This what I did.

Seems a little high to me. I had an 01 Nomad FI. I let it go for 6k in 05. The Nomads did not go to 1600 until 05 I think . Earlier models are 1500. They are ok but will seem like a dog compared to your 1st gen or a second gen.

I have some female 5 pin connectors and a male stereo. I'm in CA this week so when I get back to San Antonio I'll fix up something. You just need like 3 ft long ?
-
Actually you want a female 1/8 in stereo jack to a 5 pin female don't you? Since the helmets headset is male and most mp3 players use a 1/8 jack ?

I'll see if I can make something up for you if nobody finds one. Its not to hard.

With the City nav you can transfer your history from the Garmin to the pc. It shows where you were, when you were there and how fast your were going.

After Cougar'swrite up last night I started looking for some 400's. I did some checking and the 400 are 1 13/16 thick and the 401's are 1 15/16 thick so I guess we should stick with the 400's if the 401's are 1/8 inch thicker.

Mine did the same thing after sitting out in the rain for a few days at the airport. After it got dried out good it has not done it again. I was thinking Ignition switch as it was the part most exposed to the rain. -
There ain't no sticks out there. Lots of rocks though...
