rear brake lockup-help please
BuddyRich replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Check to be sure you don't have an exhaust leak or something heating up the brake line if all else fails. Any moisture in the fluid would boil and cause your brake locking problem till the brake lines cooled -
I have read that the throttle cable may need adjusting to solve this.

Yep,, You forgot to let off the brakes.... :rotf:

I changed my own tires a couple of times. I'll take them to the dealer if he reasonable. Like 20 bucks a tire. Its a fight to do your own tires. Once you get it on your gonna need to band it to get it to inflate...

Pads will mount the same as the factory. Easy is a relative question. They were simple for me. Never tried those. I have always used EBC Double H Sintered.

I have put 40k miles on laptops in the trunk. Toshiba and Dell. Trick is to carry them in your basic padded laptop case.

Oil in air box on top of carbs
BuddyRich replied to BigShell's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Don't know but I get oil around the carbs and necks also. Always has. I have just taken to cleaning them once a year. You run any Seafoam thru it lately ? -

Do I have a problem?????
BuddyRich replied to Buzzard1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Don't think so. If you took off kinda of fast it could just be low oil level. I found that mine will come on if I am gettin on it from first and second pretty good if I don't have the oil level all the way up to the top mark. -
But I thought everybody liked this song,, That and Alice's Restaurant ... :rotf:

I guess the strangest is when a white owl flew up from next to the road out of some tall grass one night. Just enough time to duck under the windshield. Don't know if he made it or not as I did hear and feel something hit the windshield but there weren't any scratches on it. Or the time a deer ran in front of me but changed directions just in time. I had gotten slowed down but we were close enough that I could hear her hoofs clattering on the asphalt trying to get traction.

Does this mean there won't be a 2010 HD.. :rotf:

Avon Venom-X MT90B16 won't fit
BuddyRich replied to Trimster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Took some doing but I mounted my own. As mentioned I used a ratching tie down strap around the center to get it to mount. One time I used and extension cord and a bar and started twisting it like a tourniquet. It work also. Takes a little bouncing and pushing but it will take air sooner or later. This was also needed for the stock size tire once. -
Sounds like you may need a clutch spring. I have a second gen and it won't allow going past redline but a lot of 1st gen riders do I think. Welcome to the site.
