  1. Wel, don't know who won it or for how much, but5 I didn't...
  2. Yes, I'm bidding on the rack that ends today. I need it for a larger '85 trunk that is on my list of "to do"for this winter. I like the '85 trunk because it is removable and is the bigger size. I am also in the process of modifying a set of newer saddlebags to work with my rear bumper for additional room there as well...
  3. Hmmmm, I WAS bidding on that one...
  4. Hey!! There's an idea whose time has come!!! I like it!!
  5. We saw snow at Old Faithful at the end of May when we went a few years ago...
  6. The '83 was the only year affected by frame cracking. They beefed up the wqeek point with more metal on the '84`up. I believe the frame cracking was around the rear shock mount but I'm not positive on that. I own an '84...
  7. I've often thought of using bungee cords on Becky just so she doesn't fall off...
  8. I have an '85 that I originally bought for parts but decided to try to get running agsain. I'm pulling it into the garage next month to turn it into a winter project. Hasn't run for about 10 years. Turns over but no spark. Got my work cut out for me too!!
  9. Keep in mind that the right hand one is reverse thread...
  10. Start with the lower fairings, followed by the headlight fairing (bottom vent comes off as well, and then the upper fairings. The top pieces (Dash pieces wioth the radio and class, etc.) and windshield have to come of as well along with the mirrors...
  11. Almost pee'd my pants laughing while watching the video!!! Need the Whiz thingie myself...
  12. I have a markland for '83 to '85 that I may be interested in selling in a few weeks...
  13. Yes, we seriously thought about it but 1. We had some shoping to do and the trailer hitch is off of the bike, and 2 We knew it was supposed to rain and get colder later...
  14. That's OK Lou, I'll still ride with you... As long as you aren't too far away in my mirrors:stirthepot:
  15. .....You hit your hand on the window as you try to wave to a passing bike. (I've done that!) .....You lean harder and harder but the car keeps going straight ahead. (Friend of mine did that) .....your foot is under the brake pedal pulling up but you casn't get it to shift. .....You insist that your wife set behind you rather than next to you. .....you have bungee cords wrapped around your rear spoiler. .....you stop under an overpass when it's raining to put on your rain gear.
  16. Sorry for your loss, Peggy, and I understand. I make it a point to spend quality time every day with our cat Sonny...
  17. Hi! I've been known to associate with these other NY riders as well! I'm about an hour south of you right now. Don't know if I can meet up with you, though, as I work a lot. I'm actually off Sunday!! I'm sure Big Tom will keep me updated if anythng comes together...
  18. Yup! Would love to meet up during your visit. For the third year in a row I'm going to try to make it to Don's. Maybe 3 is a charm...
  19. I'm thinking parachutes would be more appropriate than helmets...
  20. That's called "Oldtimer's" disease Gary...
  21. We will be soon if everybody keeps changing their screen names by reregistering...
  22. Congrats!!! I'm working this week for money I spent last week...
  23. Yah! pretty much packed it in for the year. May get out one more time but for all intents and purposes it;s over until spring. Oh well, next spring Goldie will be better than ever with new and improved Mk 2 brakes and front suspension, heel/toe shifter, and maybe an electronic rear view mirror...
  24. I would suppose not completely, Sherry! If anything, I would think that you will never completely forget Tom, nor should you. He meant the world to you, as did you to him, and that's something that should never cese. In a way, I can understand that as I am still in love with my first wife, who may or may not be alive. Of course I love my present wife with all my heart and soul, and would never be untrue to her, but even to this day I stil think of my first. You see, at one time, I had a strong enough commitment to her to ask her to spend the rest of our lives together, but some times things don't work out the way they should. My point is, don't forget the past, but don't live in it either. Live today for today. I am so glad you are moving on and are coming to grips with things. Remember we are famliy here too, and keep in touch.
  25. Hmmm, wonder what my new screen name should be...
