Your neutral light problem is most likely dirty contacts on the gear imndicator switch. It's a rotary type switch with a contact for each gear position. Without the neutral signal the bike will never start (probably the reason it sat for years). Consult the service manual for proper procedures for removal. There is an electronic PDF file of the manual on this site. I'm assuming that the green neutral light does not light as well... -

The signal from the brake light fires a relay that engages the anti dive solenoid. Soooo, just splice a line into your brake lights to the primary of a relay with the other side of the primary coil to ground. One end of the relay contacts goes to the battery, and the other relay contact goes to the anti dive unit. Easy enough? IMHO the conversion is well worth the time but you should change over the rear as well to include the rear master cylander for maximum benefit. Anti dive is a good thing to have, but so is progressive springs. To my knowledge the springs are the same from the mk1 and mk2... -

Wow, thanks for the heads up about 4 rooms being left, Dave! Just made our reservations for Friday and Saturday. Soooo, I guess that means we're committed and have to show up this time... Man, there could be quite the group ride coming from Ontario and New York!

I think you did just fine thanking us, Yama Mama. We really don't expect the world to be handed to us on a silver platter, nor do we ask anything of anyone, other than what you have already done, which is to recognize us for what we are, just an ordinary person who chose to serve our great nation. I served in the Army from 1967 to 1970 and was in Vietnam from July of 1967 to June of 1770 with the 101st Airborne Division. I also want to thank my fellow Veterans for serving their country with pride!

They are sort of similar to the ones Nash used to have on theirs, but if I recall they were flying ladies...

That's possible, but more than likely is the fuel level sendor unit, which is actually a rheostat to ground, has developed issues. This is a common problem. You can remove the sender unit and carefully remove the tin cover over the resistor element and clean the accumulated crud off of the element. You can also increase the tension on the slider with a screwdriver adjustment. Chances are you are going to find the resistor element is warped. You may end up replacing the sendor unit with another known good one...

No got the backrest. PM sent. Stator is used but should be good...

Yah, I should have left and right saddlebags, perhaps even with a key! Also have a spare antenna. What color seat, brown or black? I should have a used stator around as well...

It's only been a few weeks since we last rode the scoot, and already I'm going nuts!!! Depression is seting in and I can't wait to rework the scoot and take it out again!! Winter projects include upgraded front suspension and brakes, along with bigger saddlebags and trunk. Came up with a few minor mods as well. The big winter project is getting the '85 running and start it's restoration! What are your winter plans?? Maybe we need a mid winter get together somewhere around here...
