  1. Only a TCI from an '83 will work on yours, I'm sad to say, so make sure it is for that year. They come up on ebay often enough. Wish I could help you out but I've got my own TCI problems. There is also another area that can give the same conditions, the conector for the pickup coils that come from the stator cover up to the TCI. There is a connector along the frame near the gas tank and voltage regulator that can get corroded and cause problems...
  2. Hmmmm, bad pressure sensor?????
  3. Goldie is running, or rather ran for a few minutes, then the ignition module bit the big one!! Now I have 2 dead units and one that runs on 2 cylanders... I am in dire need of a module ASAP! Don't want to miss MD because of it. Anybody got a spare to part with?? I'm going to check the schematic to see if there is any reason that I should be blowing them. The only thing changed was the pickup coils but I can't see what they would do to cause the unit to self destruct. It did run fine while it ran...
  4. When you get to the Buffalo NY area maybe we could meet up for a while. Keep us posted, there's a lot of members in the area...
  5. Uhhhh, we could send Big Tom and SpankyM up there, they are real glood at taking things apart!! Oh, wait, Tom doesn't have his passport yet...
  6. My set of MK1 Anti Dives just got shipped out this week! However, I did notice something when I had them off, the mounting is identical to the MK2 electric anti dive solenoids!! You can switch over to electrics and eliminate the load on the brake system which should improve the brakes on the ffront, something that is sorely needed on the MK1's...
  7. 219 is lots of fun with lotsa nice curves. We enjoyed it last year going down to Asheville...
  8. They park on a slope and shoot at an angle...
  9. Thanks, Goose, I'm soon to find out how Goldie handles with new E3's on front and rear! Of clourse the front suspension has been rebuilt as well...

  11. Oh Oh!!! I somehow think this one has "SQUIDLEY" written all over it...
  12. OK I'll start the bidding at $15...
  13. Key Lime??? it's ALL good!!
  14. What I would check first is the connection for the wires on the temperature sensor on the right side near the frame on the front edge of the motor. There are 2 wires that may be disconnected. Just follow that big black hose running just below the frame on top of the carbs towards the front and you should find them...
  15. Hey, ahh, Carl, does the words "me" and "Bite" used together in a sentence have any meaning to you???
  16. Cool!! I went the route of soaking the cable and the housing to clean , and then completely greasing the cable before reassembling...
  17. Pulled my Air Box (again) to remove the defective ignition Module and relocater it, and decided to see how well my sliders were moving. Well, found the right front would only open halfway and seem to hit a stop. Took it apart this evening and found that the entire diaphragm and piston assembly had come apart!! It honestly looks like someone tried to replace a diaphragm and used packing tape to hold the washer for the rubber in place after prying it apart!! Found the tape on the spring! Luckily, I had a brand new diaphragm and puiston assembly I bought off ebay a couple of yearsw ago to have on hand. Also, not a single torx screw to be found on any of the carbs. Hmmm, wonder if it was the same brain child that wired my chin lights directly to the accessory line before the fuse...
  18. Darn! Interested but am repainting this summer! Oh, well...
  19. Me Too!!. Sending PM...
  20. As a matter of fact, your name did come up in a conversation this weekend. Yes, people notice you haven't been active as of late...
  21. Wiring is squared away, now ignition module snafu, and found out one of my sliders on the carbs only opens halfway and seems to hit something. Today is servicing the air box, resealing the rubber tubes, and cleaning up a K&N filter I got off of fleabay. Got some plastic to repair and by Thursday I should be riding!! Thanks for asking!
  22. That's just it, they are riding buddies, pets, whatever! Usually they have some sort of significance as to when and where they weere bought, like a souviner from a road trip. We have a pig that sings Johnny Cash "I've been everywhere" that's already been a lot of places with us.
  23. **Sigh** Some day I'll get to try out my new Progressives, along with the new brakes, SS lines, E3's etc...
  24. Gee, when you get done with yours, come on down and do the one on my '85!! The '84 has a few years to go before I worry about it...
