    Thank You

Thanks for remembering us Ken, even as screwed up as this country is, I'd do it again.
  2. Thanks Peg for thinking of us. God bless ALL our warriors past, present and future. Semper Fi
  3. About 14 years old I got my 1st "Real" bike which was a Kawasaki KX 125. Had minibikes since about 11, then my 1st street bike was a Kawi 750 triple 2 cycle '75 I think it was. Lost count of how many bikes I have had since.
  4. You keep trying to convince yourself of that my friend
  5. We'll be here when your ready to jump into it....you old goat
  6. Rick, Thanks for pointing this out, it's good when you the members point out things like this. It sometimes seems that when the Moderators have to get involved it becomes a freedom of speech issue and we are being "Heavy Handed" Many times we will let a post or thread go to see where it ends up. The line we walk sometimes is very fine and no 2 situations are exactly alike even though their content may be. All we ask for a is a little restraint, and to post things that you wouldn't mind say your 6 year old granddaughter seeing. This isn't a bash against anyone, just how we like to keep things around here....we are bikers after all
  7. It's funny, but I would NEVER teach my wife or SO to ride. They will never listen correctly to you (because your their spouse) and we dont have the paitence with them. I would pay for them to take a course and be done with it...way less headaches.
  8. Good to hear your back home Lowell
  9. Bob, I know that they offer a bit of wind protection, I agree they look better off, but I know that when I have ridden on cold mornings, without them a blast of wind comes up my legs and drys my eyes out. With them on this is drastically reduced BTW both links that Ponch posted are great products
  10. Thanks Mike, do appreciate the info
  11. Hey Folks, I know there are a few of us that have other bikes. Seeing I am still layed off I am trying to pick up some extra work doing maintenance on other motorcycles. I have a fella that has an '08 Vulcan and wants a rear tire and oil change. I wanted to see if any of our members have had one and what the filter is like to get at. Just so I can accurately quote it for him, any advice for me?
  12. You should know better than that by now
  13. Wish I had my starter clutch done Dale, I'd ride over and show you how to to the Carbtune
  14. Thanks for the update Mini and let bhim know we are still thinking about him everyday. The phone is on if you need a chat too, remember to take care of yourself!
  15. Mike, You have hit upon the secret of the success of this website. Although it is a technical forum for Ventures, Tour Deluxes and the Royal Star, it is 1st a family. We have many members that ride other makes and brands, Eck, Black Owl and myself are moderators and we have different bikes other than the Venture although I have an '89 VR as well as a '79 H/D. Were happy to hear that you feel comfortable enough around us to want to stay. Were glad your here and look forward to seeing more of yoy on the site...enjoy the RSV
  16. You might say that
  17. Come to think of it Larry Skeels (Carbon One) and B2Dad triked their RSV's they might still have their rear rims as well.
  18. Nice Buddy...you got yours coming
  19. All the best to both of you, I know the stress you talk about, were living it too. Take sometime for you and try to relax, even if for a few minutes each day.
  20. Well at some prodding I am 43 on #2 marriage to Lonna for better than 12 years, I'm not going to tell you how old Lonna is. I have some good days and some bad, ask Mom why she didn't tell me going into my 40's was gonna suck so bad on my body....she just smiled
  21. Another beach visit....have fun
  22. You better stop by and raid the fridge, he got all over me for not stopping on our way down
  23. Dale, The best way I can describe it, and forgive the analogy, is that God was with us. I reacted even before I could think of how to react. I held the bike up for 3 times of the rearend swaying right to left. I have no idea how I did it besides saying that subconsiously I immediately reacted to the bikes inputs with inputs of my own. Fortuntaely when the bike finally was too out of control for me to do anything else, we were in the grassy medium sliding between I10 just west of Baton Rouge.....The man upstairs has other things for us to do here, as we shouldn't have made it through that one
  24. I have to say that for less than $100, you might owe it to yourself to try it. Worst case if you hate it is someone WILL trade you a seat for yours if you wanted to trade
  25. Dale..... I can 1st hand tell you that the rear tire going suddenly flat, say at 70 mph....SUCKS!! Glad you had an uneventful day BTW....Thats not my pop rivet
