  1. He's definitely in the zone on that ride
  2. Nice find, dont care what anyone thinks, those scooters are fun to ride
  3. The roads heading into Tehquamenon Falls are nice, along the northern shore of Lake Superior are reasonable too.
  4. Just so you folks know, the '83 to '85 use a different style of Markland hitch it wont work on the MKII's '86 to '93. You'll have to buy a Markland hitch for your specific year, theu wont interchange without major modifying
  5. And there you have it from a pure amature
  6. Have a safe trip back Dennis
  7. All the best to you John, mind your P's & Q's and get yourself better.
  8. Cool seeing a M&E in Michigan!!
  9. Happy Birthday Alan!!!!
  10. Just an update... WOW! What a Weekend!!! Had an awesome time, as usual, with Kenny, Beth and the bretheren. Lonna said she had an idea about Brad and Rhonda coming down, but I had been so busy I never really gave it a thought. It was a great surprise and I really want to thank all 3 of them for coming down, makes the homesickness for our northern friends a little easier to deal with. Lots of work got done, I will start putting the plastic back on the '86 this week and start riding it. Did a lot of work to it and changed all fluids and fork seals/progressive springs. It was nice having an extra long weekend to be able to stay that extra day. Thanks to all who came and made it a very memorable time, even got to meet a couple new to me members. Of course no good deed goes unpunished, made it home with zero traffic issues, only to walk into a house that was 100 degrees AC decided to stop working! That pretty much sucked and ended up running around at 8pm buying some box fans to try and cool the house down. AC guy will be out this afternoon and charge up the freon and clean the system I'll try to get some pics up in a few days, Thanks again to our Bogalusa hosts, you 2 ROCK!!!
  11. We drove strait through to Kenny and Beths last night. Got here at about 2:30 this morning and I'm already tearing MY, yes I said MY bike apart (I know it sounds fishy, but it's true) Looking forward to seeing folks when they get here, have a safe trip to those that are on the pavement!
  12. It doesn't look familiar to me, but then there aren't that many RSV's with Motor Trike kits on them. It's a shame they quit making them for the RSV, I think they look great on the 2nd gens, better than the Hannigans or any others IMO
  13. Even with a Dum Dum, I still carry my truckers atlas on the bike. It's spiral wound and laminated, you never know when dum dum will decide that it wants to die and that can make for an interesting run if you have no clue where your at
  14. You know you just fried his brain there Bobby Fried part of mine too
  15. I have done this method a few times, works like a charm
  16. Thanks for the update Paul, you folks take your time and heal up right. Let us know if we can help y'all with anything...all the best to you both!
  17. Mike, Sounds like you have a stuck float issue, if this happens take the handle end of a screwdriver and tap on the bowls of each carb. Many times this will reseat the needle and stop the flow. As far as setting the bike up for the winter, Seafoam can be used as a storage chemical for the gas, or Stabil. I would also do like Dan mentioned and run a can through your tank, it will help to clean anything out of the carbs. Another thing you might want to consider is to turn off your gas when you set the bike up for the winter. Run the carbs completely out of fuel and then you dont have to worry about gas being in them and setting up
  18. If you get the chance to meet up again with IH Truck Guy aka Driver Dan make sure he brings Shari, his wife with him. They will tell you stories that will have your guts hurting! Have fun you 2! MOOSE!!!
  19. Good to hear you folks are on the mend, if you 2 need anything please let us know....all the best in your recoveries
  20. According to the chart, (Bill Vinson emailed me the same one, thanks Bill) it states if the 3 AC volt readings aren't equal then the stator is bad. Thats what I am leaning towards, Thank you all again for your input on this
  21. We are going to try to head North into Michigan in September for a family reunion. Gonna try to take atleast a week off but 10 days if we can swing it. We'll be in Ontario at some point then and perhaps an inpromptu M&E could be arrainged We'll definitely hook up with you folks if we can get close enough
  22. Hey Kenny....you folks getting excited/scared yet!?
  23. Just to clarify a bit more, I did do a resistance test between the 3 leads with the bike not running. In every combination (I did 9) and it all came back at .9, this at 1st lead me to believe that it might be good. When I had it unplugged at the main harness connector (plug is in great shape with dilectric grease still in it) and checked it while running, the variations of AC Volts is what spoke to me in the thought that something wasn't right. I will also check the wiring at the Regulator, but I'm still leaning towards a toast stator. I had a good spare stator that I pulled out of my '89 and have given it to Monkey Boy to see if he can get it rewound while he is up in Michigan on vacation. Thanks for all the input guys, do appreciate it
  24. Just looking to hear from some of the electrical gurus out here. Monkey Boy's '90 is having a charging issue and I went to check it out today. I did an AC voltage test on the stator and wanted to make sure I did it correctly. Bike running, negative lead of multimeter directly on the negative battery post. Tested each leg of the 3 wires and came up with 4 VAC on 1, 6.1 VAC on the 2nd and 11 VAC on the 3rd. In my head this is a bad stator that needs to be replaced, I'm just wanting to confirm this with more educated electrical brains. The battery was fully charged and installed right before I did the test....give me your opinions.
