  1. The 8" will work fine, I would suggest that you take the bearings out and replace them with a "Good" set of bearings like a Timken. Make sure you use a good quality wheel bearing grease and I always use bearing buddies on all my trailers no matter what size. Some of the HF have a grease zerk in the rear side of the hub. If yours does I would remove that one and tap it to the next size up and put a screw in zerk fitting as the factory ones will pull right out. I have made several trailers from the Hf frame kits and have never had an issue with them when I did the things I just mentioned
  2. Deep breath in Dan....breathe out, and again deep breath in....breathe out. You'll get the hang of it, you have no worries, your retired right!? I even made the words in Blue to calm you down...I'm thoughtful that way
  3. I'd love to get over into the mnts in Vermont and New Hampshire, very beautiful from what I have seen. Good to hear you had a nice trip of it, a little wind in the face can cure just about any ailment!
  4. Yes it can be removed/replaced, it can be a bear to get at and is easier if the left side plastic is off the bike.
  5. I love a successful stalking story
  6. He mentioned that to us and please Thank Leslie for being a sport and taking the pic for us
  7. Replace the springs and the fork oil, if they are the original springs they are shot at 116K. I just installed a set of Progressives on an '86 I have and it firmed up the front end very well. Use 10 weigtht fork oil and you'll be in good shape
  8. Bubber, I wouldn't recommend getting the HH's for the rear of the RSV. The back brake caliper locks up way too easy and the HH will add to that as it is very aggressive. Put the HH's on the front and a strait organic on the rear, you'll be a lot happier not locking up the rear caliper
  9. It's the rear caliper not fully releasing and the pad is dragging a bit Jeff, very common issue with that back caliper on the G2's.
  10. Happy Birthday Patti!!!
  11. Happy Birthday Buddy!!!
  12. If you talking about the Oring that is between the intake manifold and the head you could do that, although I haven't run into a failure there. The cracking on the actualy intake boots looks ugly but many times do not go all the way through to cause a vacuum leak. Something I will mention is that make sure that all your carbs are completely seated all the way on all the intake manifolds, it's easy to not get them all the way on. Another tip is do a carb sync as many time if it's off it will be slow to come down to an idle...just some babbling on my part
  13. Just recieved another call from Ray this morning, his son has been coherent and talking with him. He went in this morning for another surgery and as soon as Ray fills me in about it I'll let y'all know, thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers, it means a lot to Ray and his family
  14. It's good to hear your liking it my friend, I enjoyed taking it for the ride. Unfortunately for 2 up, with Lonna at least, it wouldn't work for us. It is a great machine and I'm glad after all the manic searching that day presented you got it
  15. Well...our Buddies left about 30 minutes ago to get back to Bogalusa Sure did have fun with them for the short time they were here
  16. Just got back in from a 130 mile run up north of Huntsville to meet up with Kbran and Bethy Boo! There headed back to Louzianner and are spending the night with us! We may not have went to Cody, but I started the trip with Ponch and Kathy 10 days ago as they headed north out of Texas and now Kenny and Beth here as they are headed back home Life is good when you have buddies on VRO!
  17. Ok He's not joking anymore
  18. Thanks Folks, I know it means a lot to Ray and his family for the support. He is going to be in Indianapolis today as I understand this is where his son is, thank you again.
  19. Folks, Last night I reciecved a call from oldschool, Ray Crosby in Temple TX. He is on his way to Chicago on his bike as his son, Chris, was involved in a hit and run. He is broke up pretty badly having had to undergo surgery to pin and screw his leg and arm back together. If you could take a second and send a little knee mail up to the man upstairs I know Ray and I would greatly appreciate it.....
  20. It's very doubtful Lewis, but you never know whith us I did locate the VR banner, Black Owl has it and I talked with him this morning as he was about 3 hours from his home. He will get it shipped to you, just send him a PM with your address
  21. Either Lone Eagle (Vic) or Condor has it as I sent it to the International. I'll see if I can find who has it and get to Georgia
  22. I had some info on what jets needed to be replaced written down somewhere. You only have to buy 2 as you swap a couple of the jets from their original spots to other carbs, there's 3 different size jets in the setup. I'll see if I can find it, I had a former member do my carbs on a '99 I had and I was very happy with the results after it was done, unfortunately I only got to put on about 1500 miles on the bike before it was totalled
  23. Dont let the miles fool you, I bought an '89 with over 100K on it as the body was beautiful. She ran like a clock and was/is a great machine. rode it 2 up loade3d to Freebirds MD in '10 in Oberlin Ohio from Texas and she ran great. I sold it to one of the members here with 110K on the clock and he rode it from Houston Texas to Atlanta Georgia with zero issues. As long as it's been maintained fairly well you shouldn't have any problems $1100.00 is a good price as long as it's not all beat to hell.
  24. Al, Here's where you can buy the lenses http://www.jpcycles.com/product/3300730
