Big question is ...did it wake anyone up? Must of been confusing for all those political types, they think they are the only movers and shakers.

There is a scam where they call you and tell you to press a certain number, if you do it opens up your phone lines and they can call anywhere in the world and it gets billed to you.

when I showed up with my 2nd gen she hyperventilated for two or three weeks then settled down. I knew there was no way I could tell her in advance I was going to buy it. I had the 51 Merc for 6 months before she found out. Only one month of hyperventilating and again things settled down. Go for it. You only live once but that is enough if you do it right.

"If there were any justice in the world your dog would go to heaven and you would be kept out".....Mark Twain. Substitute the word "kid" for "dog" and you may get a bit more understanding. To most people the dog is a member of the family.

Yup, I am up for that. Rick reminded me of a thing that happened to me. I had to go to the Dr. I parked the bike and went in. Most of the folks there were elderly women. This is a retirement area. I heard a crash outside and knew it was my bike. An old woman had backed over it and was busily trying to continue backing up and could not figure out why her car would not go any further back. I banged on her window and finally got her attention. I got her to come out and look at my bike under the back wheels of her car. Her response " What is it doing under there? Get out out at once!"

The stories I saw were heavily reported in the media. Notably in the Toronto Globe and Mail and in the Vancouver Province.

Lightning does strange things. While standing anchors I heard the Jackstaff start vibrating. That is a metal pole at the bow of the ship. I could feel things starting to get tense. I moved back to the breastplate, a barrier which keeps waves from sweeping past the anchor deck, and stood on the rope tie up lines. The jackstaff was really vibrating by now so I crouched down. Suddenly everything was quiet. When I left the bow the crew asked it I had heard the gigantic explosion. I didn't. apparently they had seen the lightning come down and split between the jackstaff and the breastworks with me in the middle. All I knew was that every filling in my mouth was hot and aching.

Got some goodies here too. I forget where but it is in B.C. that a woman weighing over 300 pounds is not allowed to ride on a motorcycle while wearing shorts. In Alberta you are not allowed to ride a motorcycle to church. Also if you take a woman for a motorcycle ride you must always have a shotgun slung over your left shoulder. In Quebec you are not allowed to wear headgear which may scare an ordinary citizen. In Toronto you are not allowed to wear a negligee while riding a motorcycle. OK, I disagree with the last one but you have to wonder about the others.

Could happen, My son now lives in the center of the universe, aka Toranna.

Working on the ships we have many people who have hearing problems from all the noise not to mention those suffering, and dying from asbestos's and , as I am doing ,suffering from knee degeneration from the constant vibration. It is all serious and mostly ignored by the government agencies who are supposed to protect and help us.

I would love to go for a ride with you, especially if there is lobster involved. The only problem is all that flat land in the way, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario.
-
Well heck Rick, here I just thought you were stupid. My wife has a hearing problem, she can't hear a thing I say unless I am talking to a blond about 1/4 mile away, then she hears every word.

I had the same thing with my car. Some guy in England offered more than I was asking and wanted to have it shipped to England. They were fishing for personal info. I reported it to pay pal and they went after him. I remember some incidents back east where someone stole someone elses ID and sold their house. The first they knew was when the buyer knocked on their door asking them to move out. It had all been done on line. I also heard about someone else taking out a mortgage on somebodys house. They had a hard time proving they had not done it.

Glad you are OK. Went all the way to Cody and back and the closest call I had was 1 kilometer from home. A woman in a big black SUV made a left right in front of me. Managed to just miss her. She was totally unaware. Yesterday at the same intersection two cars were stopped at signs and I was going along on the through road. Just as I got to them both cars started through the intersection. One guy saw me and hit the brakes but the other one never noticed me. Very close.

Dingy...I saw them and they saw me but I was gone before they could react. I got word back through a friend on the force.

I am agnostic. As such I really don't care about anyone's religion, I consider it their business, not mine. If someone asks for prayers I will send my best wishes. As for politics I have my opinions and vote for what I think is the best party at the time but am prepared to change my opinion and vote at any time and I consider that my business.

I admit I was once younger and stupider. I had a Madura that hit the radar at 150 mph but they didn't catch me. I have since got older and a bit wiser and slowed down. Now I hardly ever go above 115 on the venture. I must admit when I was younger the sheer power was as addictive as any drug.

It seems a few people, myself included , have lost those. I think there was a thread on it. I am looking for a radio knob that might fit.

No issues with the slipstream. Fit perfect.

Rode to Cody through the North Cascades and down onto the flat lands. Rode Beartooth at nearly 11000 ft and down to Yellowstone. High temps to low and back to high. The Venture never stumbled or felt weak. Great bike.
