  1. So last night I submitted an application for a part time driver job to give me something to do during the winter. I received an answer and everything screams SCAM!!!! I looked up the address and it exists, I looked up the name and address and one of the returns directs me to a 419 scam web site. E-mail, request for information including scanned DL, most of the phone number, the language in the reply, everything throws up red flags. This is just effing great! just what I don't need. It's even worse I got the "lead" through a online job search engine (hotjobs.com). The answer to my application was sent at about 0400 local. 2. I have an HP 23 tri color. pay postage and it's yours
  3. DUI Dang Annie, you guys don't mess around with these PSA's do you? Maybe Americans are too sensitive for such graphics ....
  4. I need a new keyboard. :happy65::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  5. I've owned Ford's without major problems. I've owned one Chevy, which I got rid off because the seat was hurting my back every day! And I've owned a number of Dodge's. After this bail-out crap, I will never buy another new (2009 or later) Dodge or Chevy again! Which leaves Ford if I want to purchase a "domestic" product, or one of the foreign offerings.
  6. I pulled the hard drive and looked up the part number. There is a refurbished one on Ebay which expires in 23 hours. any thoughts on refurbished drives?? Guess I might need a crash course on snipping (I think you guys call it). As far as digital drives; I had the option to get one when I purchased this thing, though I like the concept it would have given me smaller capacity and a higher price.
  7. Thanks guys! I found the original paperwork and it turns out it's a 120Gb/5400RPPM, which Dell sells for $190. I did a search on newegg and found only 2 drives for laptops of that capacity but it appears I'd have to know exactly what I need to since their chat line can't/won't give tech support or recommendations. If one of those works it might save me some money though. Thanks again!
  8. I've finally retrieved my Dell Tablet XT. No data was recovered, my power supply has gone missing and I still get a message that it can't find a drive (duh!), anyways, i would like to see about getting it back up running but I've had to many "discussions" with Dell about this thing. Looking to find a 40G, 4200RPM, 1.8inch ATA hard drive. Any of you techies know a source?? Thanks
  9. I cut 2 inch of the top of mine using blue painters tape, a veneer blade and the jig saw on two with no problem. Turned out great, allows me to look over while still preventing the wind buffet. I do have a bad shield from a MkII (which was an inch shorter then my MkI shield) from which I cut three inches off. I did not finish it! I do like that height, but the wind hits the helmet and gets annoying after a while. Anywho, if you want to try it out and see if you like a shorter windshield before cutting your up, you can have this one, come and get it, or pay shipping.
  10. And why would it be your responsibility to pay for shipping. If ligit, I would suggest to tell him that you will be glad to prep the bike for shipping but he has to make his own shipping arrangements after you get paid.
  11. If you're referring to the cover on the downtubes from the rear cylinders, they're OK. Though i don't rightly know what a bad front wheel bearing sounds like, i went ahead and put lithium grease into the speedo head, pulled the cable out of the jacket and squirted grease up in there and re-inserted the cable, then also put greease in the wheel connection prior to taking it for a ride (5mile or so). I can still hear it though it seemed less loud then last night. Got a couple thousand left on the front tire, so I think maybe new wheel bearings in front when I replace the rubber. Unless something goes drastically wrong:doh: Thanks
  12. We went to get a cup off coffee last night and on the way home I seemed to have picked up a new sound. Brenda describes it as a stuck leaf or something stuck somewhere that is flapping around and I concur that is seems like something is vibrating. Engine temp and voltage are good, tach is solid and the speedo has an occasional flutter around 55-65 (but the cable has been replaced by the shop last year and I know what a squealing speedo cable sounds like.). Brake disks were cold to the touch when we arrived home (it was in the 30's). The sound is not continuous and will vary in intensity, starting abruptly and fading out or vice versa. It does not appear to be speed or RPM related! I'm kinda stumped but am leaning towards checking the speedo cable or maybe an exhaust leak at the front header?? Any other ideas??
  13. Not trying to diminish on your new MC, but a bigger question for all you guys who buy a scoot to ride around town. If you drive a Suburban or something else big, do you go buy a "Smart car", a "Geo metro" or some other cookie box to ride around town? NO! But lets go buy another scoot for around town, yeah; right!! Or as a backup in case the other bike has issues (like you have a back up car of course) If you ride a full dress bike, what difference does it make if you go to the corner store or cross country? If you want to buy another bike, buy another bike and admit you "wanted" it. I'm just saying ......
  14. There is this "zoom" feature ........ :stickpoke:
  15. well, they do make right side hacks ...
  16. I lost 5mpg on the secondary and about 10 on the interstate running 85 running 2 up. Power is not an issue with my MkI.
  17. Hey Annie! Get a sidecar!
  18. have you looked at the Victory?
  19. First come first serve ...... (if that's worth anything:confused24:) I have a box of scouting stuff that I'm wanting to get rid off. There is some American stuff, but for the most part it is from Scouting Netherlands (before it went to s*/* and became totally sissyfied) Anyone interested send me your address.
  20. I've been thinking about doing some tinkering with my dash, but since I ride year round, that would require me to get another dash housing. anyone have one? I ride an early '83, so no shift lights and cruise, won't need a tach, speedo, volt meter, temp guage or computer either, clock doesn't need to work either. I.e. basically I just need the box. Let me know. Thanks!!
  21. Had to look up and see what an SLA system is, looks very bulky. Right now I have about 20 inches between bike frame and sidecar, maybe another 6 to get to the wheel hub, unless they make something like this for a go cart this may not be a viable option. It's been 20 plus years since I sat in a plane and most of what I flew was the tricycle gear variety, heck I can't even remember if steering was hydro or mechanical. and I used to be an instructor ... and yes, I'd be interested in pictures (or links and part numbers), thanks. also going to check and see if there is a trashed Flexit out there which obviously doesn't need the actuator anymore Thanks guys!
  22. style over substance, hmm, you a politician??
  23. barend

    that is funny as s***!!!
  24. Thanks Curtis, Guess I'll break down and schedule an unarmed robbery
  25. There is a system out there which uses D cams and chains, it seemed to me that using hydro (or air) would be a lot less bulky while saving weight. I had assumed that since fluid would be pushed both directions you would not really need a reservoir. I'm also thinking that you should be able to stop flow either direction and basically lock the system so that the unit cannot lean? how small is small on the cylinders? I would be interested but at the price I suppose I should wait till my wife's got another job:whistling: Thanks for the info though, I'll keep this on the back burner and see if i can revive it at some point
