The first thing I thought off when I picked her up was she was close to the color I had a 73 cutlass supreme painted. Brandy Wine burgandy. So brandy has been saddled on the old girl ever since then. Daviod

you could also just take out the plastic caps on the handle bars and install a standard set in them. Right ahnd side cap is just beside the break master cyliner. Not sure where left side is as it6ts dark and raining. David -

35,000 miles is just getting broke in. My 91 has 71,000 on it and I have no worries about climbing on and going wherever I want. Good luck and keep the shiny side up. David- 11 replies

Thinking quickly, Beer 30 yelled out it was the Sons Of Anarchy and I got one of their pink chaps to prove it.So being the guys they are the Del Fuegos bought another round of ice cream and thanked us for our info and then left. We sat there enjoying the freedom of the revenge of the Del fuegos when Sam crow pulls up on his bike and asked who told the Del Fuegos that him and his club kicked in the Donalds door. We all looked around and just decided that they were on harleys and couldnt catch us so we left there on our VR's.......

I tend to burn them on a disc. Now as for your comment on getting broke or scratched, I went to walmart and baught a cd holder that holds 200 cd's and use it to hold the burnt disc. When zipped up the case keeps them protected. Not sure if this will work for you but it works well for me. Good luck David

Putting on New Tires...Should I balance them?
painterman67 replied to jonsmyth's topic in Watering Hole
not saying you all are wrong but I'm at least a year old and 7000 miles strong on a rear Metzler. Of course I check the tires meticulasly for tread and pressure. And the reason I say at least 7000 is they were already on the bike with some wear on them. 7000 miles is what Ive put on the bike with all of it being one up and a few times with the trrailer. There is some debate as most who have had the delaminaytion probs ride mostly 2 up and trailer with a lot of weight. Just something to think on. No disrespect intended to my elders and betters as I still consider myself a newbie to this bike. David -
90-93 TCI on ebay
painterman67 replied to Dano's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
you asre exzctly wright there dano, and no problem on the tci as I want go any higher than my max bid. Someone else had already beet it after I posted my statement. Why spend more for a used one when I can order one from the chec( spelling) company for about $200. Ive been following that thread and sent them an email they said it would be about that much for everyting shipped to my door with a 3 year warranty. So I'll keep looking. Also jrichards has one for sell in the classifieds he would probably let go for close to that price too. David -

I am thinking about getting a new windshield for this antique. I want to cut down the original for warm weather and have a full shield for winter. Lokked at one on ebay with side extentions but it had a crack down by the bolt holes. I did like the side extentions ,even though Ive never seen them before. David

OK took a ride this weekend to help my cuzin get his bike back together and hang out. On my way there the first tank of gas I ran out at 65-70 mph and got 43 mpg. The second tank was ran out at 75-80 mph and I got 33 mpg. On the way home today I ran 70 mph all the way home and got 40 mpg. Is it normal for a first gen to get such varying mpg and espcially such a drastic change when over 75 mph. it all seems to be pulling fine with plenty of power all the way through the gears. Just been wandering as I have niticed varying changes in fuel economy but this is the first time I ve been able to get a hold on the mph to mpg issue. Tahnks for all and any answers. David
