    Ive been watching this thread for a while. Quick question. As I dont have the tools or knowledge, would you consider making and selling a setup like you have for the gps mounting and such? David

    Is this any good. The final drive is out of my 91 vr and when I changed the gear oil it had metal flakes in the oil . WHen I removed and replaced it the drive shaft pulled out and better minds than mine says that I had broken the pinion shaft.. NOt sure if its any good as far as a repair . Or if the drive shaft can be removed from the shaft its incased in. Help please as I would hate to throw this away if it would be of some use to another person, or is it a paper weight now? David

    Thanks condor, but I dont need it . Skydoc sent me an entire final drive along with the matching driveshaft. David

    yes it did..it was still pulling but it made the loud duptruck sound when you let off the throttle....You know that roar. David

    I just finished more or less the install of the final drive bought from skydoc. Many thanks to all who gave me the courage to do this on my own. It is in for the most part. Got to put gear oil in and tighten up bolts and such an install the left exhuast. Not sure but I dont think the rear end is suposed to look like this. The drive shaft is fused to the sleeve and its not like that on the new to me one. David

    ok just an idea but did you put the key into the acc position. The class system only works in the acc key position. David

    I ve heard of peaple cutting a shim or 2 out of aluminum beer or soda cans and add as many as needed. David

    I ended up wireing the trailer to 5 pin to get rid of these same problems. I had the 5 pin to 4 blade adaptor and never could get it to work wright. rewired bike and trailer to 5 pin and all has been well since then. David

    ok as far as trashing harleys.....I dont do it as I think they are nice bikes just a whole lot over priced for a name and a stamp that syas made in america....Ill drive what I can afford.. And as for sport bike riders , well not all but most of them are either young and think they are superman and nothing will happen to them or old and trying to recalim their youth. most of them are pure idiots. As far as how do I know this I used to be a younf ,superman want to be idiot on a sports bike. Things I did on a bike when I was young make me cringe just thinking about them now. So if this makes me into someone thats slamming others for what they ride then I guess I deservr the status of ********. IUm good with that. But in the same light doesnt that make you the same thing for deciding that its your wright to call me that because I dont agree with you? David

    just an idea but mine( 91 vr ) was doing the same thing. Muffinman finally figured it out that I had a bad cdi and was only running on 3 cylinders. MIne would sputter and get that sudden exceleration at 3 grand. Changed out the cdi and all was better. Turned out that the cdi would kick the 4th cylinder on at 3grand or so. DAvid

David And Squidley the idea of a seperate update thread that is hooked to only moderators would be nice.

    thats a great river to raft on.........benn doing it every year for 15 yrs now...we rent the one man rafts and take 15 or 20 down at a time. Good luck and oh yeah that water runs 42 degrees year round. The falls are a blast. David
