  1. Beth and I made it to the show with a couple of our neighbours across the street....pricey getting in, $15 with out a discount. Not near as large a show as it used to be....heck, when it was in Cobo, it took up two floors....I was just a wee bit disappointed overall. The jury is still out on the "flaming" Venture....might take some time to adjust. We did see Larry and Joyce, and Brad and Rhonda, I guess we missed out on some others looking at the posts. Cold as a mother-in-laws kiss walking in from the parking lot, but a pretty good day just the same. It was good to get out!! gunky:shock3:
  2. I too enjoyed the movie, and when I'm all dressed up in my leathers, and standing next to my Venture, they say I look like Jabba the Hut. gunk:moon:
  3. "semi annual attitude adjustment"? Hell, I thought you were one of those 70's era rabble rousers....like me. I get an attitude adjustment daily where I'm employed......and I like it!!!! Have fun up there, and don't bother with the suntan lotion...... randy
  4. LOL.....chrome won't get me and my engine home....but it sure does look pretty! Have a good one Goose, hope your weather is better than ours right now...it's cold for these parts. Merry Christmas! randy:rudolf:
  5. Thanks Randy, I googled them, but no one had them in stock. I appreciate your response, Merry Christmas! randy:cool10:
  6. I'm searching for Yamaha engine breather covers....I know they were discontinued, but....someone may know where I could get these: STR-4NK27-15-01 and STR-4NK27-15-02 Any help would be great.....Beth says we need these accessories....and who the heck am I to argue? What a great gal!! Thanks for any help on this one! randy:hihi:
  7. Hey Big Tom! Received the denim shirt I won from the St. Judes auction.....it is GREAT!!! Could you send me your paypal addy once again so I can finish off on the shipping? Thanks, and once again, the shirt is GREAT! randy:banana:
  8. I will notify the donors of the items once you have sent you payment in, be sure to include your shipping address with payment. Thanks again to everyone for your fantastic support. The total raised for the auctions was $303.99. :clap2::clap2: Money sent! Thanks for taking this on!!! gunky
  9. The name of the company is "Power Fist" http://barrie.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-other-Motorcycle-Lift-W0QQAdIdZ152240989 That is a link to some pics of a guy selling one in Barrie, Ontario for $150....what a steal!!! Randy:shock3: http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle-lifts.htm Another site well worth visiting.
  10. Princess Auto up here in the Great White North has a sale on right now for 499, for a air/hydraulic lift....you ride the bike up on to it, I have the straight hydraulic one, and it works like a charm for the Venture. There is a lock bar on it, so you don't have to worry about the weight, but I believe the gross weight is 1,000 or over. I can look up the company name/manufacturer if you like and send it to you. It's a great lift, with a scissor jack you can pull out the rear end to change the back tire....a real nice piece for the garage. randy:shock3:
  11. Godspeed my friend!! randy
  12. Hey Gary: You and Mary have a fun, safe trip....and just in case you don't head out until Monday or later, don't forget the barbeque on Sunday....looks like a good turn out for some old dead cow and ice cream! randy:whistling:
  13. Hey David: Beth's is on the 19th..... randy:clap2:
  14. Beth and I wouldn't miss it....even if it is on her birthday!!! What a great gal!! randy(gunkylump)
  15. Wow Charlie, your dog and ours could be twins!!! Unreal likeness. Buddy is also a Border Collie Husky mix......very smart, very stubborn, very hair shedding mutt that he is. Great pet, if we could just get him to stop digging holes in the back yard. He has to be kept occupied to stay out of trouble. I'll have to figure out how to post some pics for you! randy:hihi:
  16. What an awesome shot!!! Kind of glad we're seeing it in a pic, and not actually there! randy
  17. You were long overdue my friend, long overdue for some good fortune. You're always the first to help out, the first to be there for someone else.....it's a sign of great things to come! randy:banana:
  18. Love the Hampton Inn's....great beds, breakfast is usually pretty good, and most will allow you to park the bike under the front canopy, which is well lit and DRY. Our favorite is the Hampton Inn in Sieverville....great breakfast, staff are great, and close to great riding, and Beth's favorite, the outlet mall. And, like Carl, never found any broads in our beds either... randy:hihi:
  19. Hey Doug!!! Glad to see that you made it here. Now we'll have to get you lined up for maintenance day over at Freebird's Memorial Day weekend. Freebird is over in Ohio. You'll see, learn, and eat lots!!! I've seen pics of your bike, it's sweet! Keep an eye on the meet and eats posted over the winter, I'll buy your dessert! randy:hihi:
  20. I had a similar issue with my royal star. It was the "Y" fingers in the internal part of shifter....1 of them fell off, and jammed things up. It was about a 3 hour job if I remember right. Not sure about your tail-headlight issue, sounds like a fuse to me. randy
  21. Googling shows me about a 1400 mile trip on the most direct route.....probably a 3 day ride for us. We'll see how the vacations get set up next year, and see what comes up. Don't be too surprised if we invade your space for a week.....Texas should be big enough for all of us randy:witch_brew:
  22. Bought our 04 in July of 04...now have 88,331 k's on it, but only put on 10,000 this year due to work issues.....the issues are working 6 days a week leaves no time for riding, dang it! I know, at least I'm working, but hire some more people so we can have a life! It's my second royal star, my original, which I just re-purchased, had 93,000 k's on it when I sold it....5 years after I bought it. I love these royal stars!! randy:smile5:
  23. Got ours in Cherokee, North Carolina at a shop there. Had it for two years now, slid it in between the windshield and the fairing. I have to use my gps now to know how fast we're going, as the bag hangs down low enough to make it difficult, but not impossible to see the speedo. Nice tri-bag, studded, and was about $50. I keep earplugs, garage door opener, rolaids, pen, paper, whatever in it. I like the look. randy:pushups:
  24. Beth and I are discussing where we're headed next year.....I'll have at least 2 weeks...Texas keeps coming up first.....what's the best month to head down there...June, July or August...or even September? Maintenance day installs? I'll be first in that line up!!! randy:smile5:
  25. Hi Ponch!! How about a full package, guages and all, shipped to the great white north? I'd be interested in a full package, polished aluminum plate, adapter and guages..... randy:pushups:
