    Big Rear

Yes, I remember that report. It was the Metzler and it was the one size larger that they claimed was approved.
  2. ahhhh....that is why I couldn't find anything. It's all somebodies wish list. Nice job on his write-up though.
  3. I have no reason to doubt the info but I wonder where it came from. I've searched and found nothing online anywhere. I'm probably just missing it. Unless they really changed the styling, it's just not for me. Sorry...I love the cruiser styling of the RSV. Put an 1800 in it and THEN I MAY consider trading.
  4. Email sent. Thanks for doing this Eck.
  5. The newspaper article would look a little different when Eileen catches me doing the spanking. You would need to check the obituaries to find the story.
  6. This isn't going to end folks. Everybody just has to make their own decisions I guess. I would just say that if you have ANY doubt, don't do it.
  7. Don't they have the Yamaha version? I think they both work well but from what I've seen, the Yamaha version looks much better. UNLESS Baker has changed their design. I haven't looked at their's lately.
  8. It's certainly not in my budget. I do expect to see something from Harley in the near future though.
  9. Here you go. http://www.diamondraccessories.com http://www.utpr.com
  10. Or a trike version. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Must-See-Unique-Harley-Davidson-VRod-Trike_W0QQitemZ250230788165QQihZ015QQcategoryZ49997QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
  11. I said long ago that Harley might do well to build a touring bike around the VRod engine. I expect they will do so at some point but at least one person got tired of waiting. Here is what he came up with.
  12. Sorry, I should have posted differently. My comments are listed within the quoted text.
  13. Marshall's site has been linked here many times. I think I even have an article and link from him in the tech library. No problem that I can see.
  14. hmmm.....I'm actually a bit disappointed. I was looking forward to seeing the tattoo. I guess I will have to settle for spanking you.
  15. I would have to see some supporting documentation to accept all of these "Facts".
  16. I'm not going to say much more, I've already stated my opinion on this issue and there is no reason to do so again. I hate to see any further confusion though regarding other tires. As far as I know, it was never determined that Squidley's problem was due to tire failure. It may well have been damaged by something in the road. That can happen to any tire. Also, I may be wrong but I don't THINK he was pulling his trailer. I know that there have been problems with the Metzler tires but I know of no such problems with the Michelin and hate to see such information being spread around unless it has been confirmed that there is a problem. I've worn out two Michelin tires with no problems at all. Most of the miles were riding two up and pulling a trailer that is usually overloaded. If it does turn out to be a problem with that tire, one failure does NOT mean that they are all bad. I know of very few car tire brands that have never experienced a failure at one time or another.
  17. Not a dumb question at all. Here is a write-up that explains it pretty well. Since the time it was posted, Diamond R has started making and selling them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=492
  18. I'm willing to participate. If you get enough without me, let the freebies go to the other members.
  19. I agree...just loosen two of them and they should move. As for the notices, you shouldn't be getting them now. Let me know if it's still a problem.
  20. Peggy, As has been said by others, I am truly happy that you and Ron have added your dream bike. It's always great when our friends dreams come true. You leaving this site would turn the dream into a nightmare for the rest of us though. I've said it many times, the bikes bring us here but the friendships keep us here. Don't you even TRY running off.
  21. They sure look the same as OEM. If they aren't, I would sure like to know who is making them and what else they may be manufacturing. Since buying my RSV in '99, I've NEVER seen an aftermarket supplier of these.
  22. No reason not to do it if it's comfortable for you. For many folks, it causes pain between the shoulder blades but you will just have to try it. The only other thing is that you can't lower them TOO much with the stock bars without the grips hitting the gas tank if you turn too sharp.
  23. Yep, I've had wing nuts on mine for about 3 or 4 years now. They have worked great for me.

    Car Tire ??

Yes, a simple yes or no would have been too easy. It was a good question and nothing at all wrong with it. This is an open discussion forum though and when such a question is asked, it generates interest on both sides. Some for, some against, some wishing to learn. There is going to be discussion and there is no avoiding that fact. Nothing wrong with that. I actually think that it was a pretty good discussion and many people probably learned from it.
  25. That would have been great but this was one of those trips where they had every minute of my day and evening scheduled with meetings, trade show, etc. Never any time at this one. Well....I seem to have brought a little of it home. 45 here this morning, that's much better than when I left.
