  1. I've pulled a trailer behind my '99 since '99. Sometimes loaded WAY heavier than it should be. It has never caused a problem with the shock or anything else.
  2. I've pretty much got to agree with the others. 15,000 out of a rear tire on a motorcycle is darn good. I have never pushed one that far.
  3. Well...if that's the case...I'm turning off the aerators and hoping for a winter kill.
  4. LOL...this would be fun. You would end up with a oil stained empty crate.
  5. By the way...I also have a motor out of the '83 that I parted out. It is complete. I never heard it run so don't know much of anything about it.
  6. No problem. I can also crate and ship it if you end up needing me to. Whatever you decide, I'll do whatever needs to be done.
  7. Don't know what year this is but it's only about 20 minutes from my house so if any of you buy it and need me to pick it up and store it for you, that would be no problem. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-1300-engine-take-out-vmax-nice-cond_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35595QQihZ014QQitemZ330211706797QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  8. You guys are talking about the Pilot light bar. I was wondering about the Diamond R bar. For the Pilot bar, I just used spring type "bar clips" that I got at Home Depot. They just snap onto the chrome rail under the trunk. Been holding mine on for 9 years.
  9. I have not installed one of these. I THINK that they simply bolt between the helmet locks. I recommend that you email Diamond R to be sure. I'm almost sure that no drilling is required though. As for the wiring, It has to be very simple. Whether you wire under the seat, trunk, whatever, it will just be three wires to splice into the existing ones.
  10. I actually have an article in the tech library of one that I did back in 1999 I think. It was made by Pilot and I picked it up at AutoZone for about $20.00. To use it as a brake and running light though requires adding a resistor and diode. I've also been told that they don't even sell it any longer but have not checked locally. If I were adding one now, I would just get the one from Diamond R. It is ready to mount, works as brake and tail light and look nice. I think the price is fair. http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=15%60%60%20Slimline%20LED%20Lightbar

    Gas Cap

I wish I could remember who I gave the gas cap to. If I remember correctly, it didn't work for him. Maybe he will see this and offer it up.
  12. You can also check with Rick at http://www.buckeyeperformance.com He probably has them. He could probably also hook you up with Stainless Steel.
  13. The link back to the old style is right at the top of the page. Look for the line...about the third or so line down that says "Welcome to the NEW Ebay Motors"....right beside that is a link that will take you back to the old style.
  14. Now THAT is the right vacation for these winter months. Glad you had a nice time. A cruise is high on our list during the next year or two.

    Oil

Some do. The local Walmart here has the motorcycle specific. That's what I use also. The price is no better than AutoZone though.
  16. I don't know why either. I use Firefox also.
  17. Yes, I just tried it again. I'm talking about the link at the very bottom of the listings...after the LAST listing...at this time I think it says 683 listings. It opens up Ebay Motors to those listing showing the same 683 entries.
  18. hmmmm....are you talking about the link at the bottom of the listings that says "view all 680 items on Ebay". If so, I just tried it and it seemed to work just fine.
  19. Just give yourself a HUGE pat on the back. You see, it's the MEMBERS that make this site what it is. You ARE a member so thank YOU for being a part of it.
  20. Take a look at this thread and see if it helps. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=502
  21. OK...I'm sorry that this took so long but I finally got it done. There is now a link there.
  22. Yes, absolutely. See this thread for a short overview. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69
  23. Geeezzzz......I wish I knew of SOME way that you could both get the last word. In the meantime, you are really both wrong. I DID create the video folder for people to post videos. It's not a big deal that they get posted in other areas from time to time but why NOT just post them in the video topic area. On the other hand, it does NOT take any longer to open a thread with a video than it does any other thread. It is actually just a link to the video and doesn't even start playing and loading until you hit the start or play button. So....all that being said, I'm going to move this thread to the video folder and HOPE that any further spats can be taken to email or PM. No reason for it to continue.
  24. Mark, This is a very common problem and one that they should be aware of. See this thread to get you started. Print it out and take it to them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705
