Dunlop E3 tire fitment on second gen
Freebird replied to BlueVenture87's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That's OK....it's not a big deal. For future reference though, at this site we call the '83 - '93 models "First Gen" and the '99 - Present the "Second Gen". Not a problem that you posted it in the wrong place it's just that you will get better responses if you post in the correct area. Either way, you'll get answers because many of us have owned both generations and know will have an answer or make something up. -

OK folks, I have received a couple of emails reminding me that I have kept you all in the dark about my eye. What can I say, I still have it and it is looking better from the side that YOU see but from the inside, it doesn't work at all. I knew that would be the case though. The vision has been gone for several months now and this latest surgery was just to relieve pressure, stop the headaches and hopefully save the eye from having to be removed. So far, so good. I had an appointment today and the pressure was back down in the normal range. There is still come redness but it is getting better. I am down from putting 4 prescription eye drops in my eyes 4 times a day to using only one prescription 2 times a day so that is good. The doctor said today that they eye looks good and doesn't want to see me again until December. Now that is the Glaucoma specialist. I have an appointment with the cataract specialist next week and apparently he will be removing a couple of stitches that I didn't even know I still had. I thought they were all the dissolving kind but apparently not. I guess that is the irritation that I feel from time to time. Then I go see the eye oncologist again in December for another routine checkup. The bottom line is.....everything is going as expected and I guess that's all good.

Bidding on TCI
Freebird replied to hdroyer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have no problem with sniping. You STILL have to put in a value that it is worth to you. If it is worth more to somebody else and they already have valued entered as their max bid, sniping doesn't have any affect on the final price. -
Bidding on TCI
Freebird replied to hdroyer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
This has been discussed before and I'm a little uncomfortable with it. We have members that sometimes sell on Ebay also. I think a product is worth what it is worth to those bidding. If we start a section that results in our members never bidding against each other, it could also have the affect of an item not bringing what it is worth to one or more buyers and also not fair to the seller. Just my thoughts. -
Yes, the Khromeswerks can be re-packed. If they are new, it may not help a lot because the packing is probably still pretty good but I don't think they are packed real tight from the factory. You may be able to use more packing and wrap them more tightly to quieten them down some. It was years ago that I had the Khromerwerks on mine but if I remember correctly, there is a screw, maybe two, on the end of the muffler. You remove the tips and then the screw to pull the baffles and packing out.

At the bottom of the forum, in the blue bar right after the last forum area is a link that says "Forum Leaders". It will open this page: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showgroups.php

OK folks...without further ado, the official date is June 4th. Hope to see as many of you here as possible.
-
I don't know anything about it. Your email address is not listed here unless you have posted it in a thread somewhere. It is not listed in your profile. I have sent Luke a private message to see if he knows anything about it. I don't see how you would be getting emails if it's his account.

You will really be surprised. A LOT of maintenance actually does happen. A lot of just visiting and eating too but we actually get a lot of work done.

OK folks...though it was my preference, I'm taking Memorial weekend off the table. Marcarl has held his event almost as long as I've held mine and I don't want to interfere with that. Plus, I've learned that there are a number of high school and college graduations that weekend. I'm now really leaning towards June 4th.

Not really. Apple doesn't make it easy to transfer from one Ipod to another. There is some second party software out there that allows you do do it but I've not yet tried any of them.

I've had a few emails asking for the dates of my 2011 Maintenance Day in Oberlin, OH. So, I'm going to throw out a couple of dates for your discussion. May 28th is one choice. That is Memorial Day weekend. The good news is that it would give many people an extra day to get back home. There may be some who do other things on Memorial Day weekend though. Your thoughts? The next choices would be either the previous weekend, May 21st or the following weekend, June 4th. My first preference would be Memorial Day weekend as it gives me an extra day to get things somewhat organized again before going back to work. This is open for discussion for a couple of days and then I'll pull the trigger and set the date.

Well, your bike already has the intercom and cb capabilities so I assume you are simply asking where to order helmets with the headsets already built in. If that is the case, I highly recommend Sierra. They are a fantastic company to deal with and offer several brands of helmets with your choice of several different headsets. http://www.sierra-mc.com/default.asp I really like the Edsets headsets but I don't think they offer any helmets with them already built in. Installation is very simple though. You would just buy the helmets of your choice and install the headsets yourself. http://www.edsets.com

Just in case you missed the post to the original thread, the VRAssistance list has been updated. The first column has been added to specify if the person is a supporting member, expired member, etc. It can be downloaded in .pdf or Excel format from the "sticky thread" at the top of the watering hole.

I like it. I wouldn't mind having something like that. It would have to be in addition to the RSV and certainly NOT a replacement for it. I think you did good.

Boom Boom 12V Cigarette Charger and my cell phone adapter

Yea that...and besides...some of our best discussions here are based on nothing more than teasing each other about dumb mistakes. Now...I COULD just delete this thread...but that just don't seem right. -

You done good. You say that you are a long way from having your own but I don't know....it looks like the kiddos bring you a lot of joy...I'm thinking it may be time. Of course, you will probably need to find a willing partner to pull it off. -

OK....here is one that works exactly like the Powertoy Resizer but is supposed to work with Windows Vista also. http://sourceforge.net/projects/phototoysclone/ -

No, that one is for XP only. There are some other threads in this section though that do show some for Vista. -

OK folks, the VRAssistance list has been updated. If you added the necessary information in your profile before last night, you should now be on the list. I did add a column that shows the membership status. It is the first column, "M" at the top. Of course "S" indicates "supporting" member.

Your links aren't working. You were probably logged into your Ebay account when you copied and pasted them. You can't be logged into Ebay if you want your links to work.
