  1. The E3 is made by Dunlop.
  2. Another option is the ones from Diamond R Accessories. I've had mine for about 3 years and really do like them. http://www.diamondraccessories.com
  3. Yes, I know how to do that but use another site to do it. I'm usually not looking for anything in particular though and not wanting to drive all over the place. I just check the ads when there and if I happen to see something that I'm really interested in, it's local to where I am.
  4. The Tech Library is read only. The reason that you see some responses is that after the crash of the site a few years ago, I forgot to set it back to read only for a while and there were some posts made there. If you have any questions about an article in the tech library, you should just post it to the tech TALK area.
  5. I agree. I don't think you can always go 50% of retail because most things are always on sale somewhere for far less than retail. I think that 50% is max. I would say that 30-40% would be the best range.
  6. I always look at the local Craigslist ads when I'm traveling. Last week, I was in Chillicothe and saw an ad for a 1987 Kawasaki Venture 1300. At least there was a picture and it was clearly a Voyager.
  7. No, sorry. They used to but they discontinued their discount programs about a year ago.
  8. I agree...sounds very fair to me.

Mine is exactly right. It says that I'm in Chillicothe, OH and that is exactly where I am....at least for another 15 minutes or so.
  10. Both are re-usable but require a replacement cartridge, $25.00 from the manufacturer. I think the discount is good on either product. If you try to order and find out different, please let us know.
  11. According to the FAQ on their page, it takes about 35 lbs. to pull the tether and that is enough to prevent that from happening.
  12. No, cut and paste is the only way unless you know their email address. Then you can click on "thread tools" and "email this page".
  13. In that case, all you need to do is remove the tube that connects the front and rear carbs on each side and just use 4 vacuum caps to cap off the ports.
  14. I've tried that before and it just didn't work well for several reasons. First of all, some people don't even put that information in right off the bat. They often edit their profiles and add that information after the welcome thread is posted. In addition to that, I just had a lot of problems trying to get it to work properly. I even tried automatically linking to their profile but it just didn't work out right. About all you can do right now is if you see somebody that you want to know more about, just look them up in the members list.
  15. I've added a Jake Wilson banner into the rotation at the top right of the page. I kept hearing this place pop up in the forum here and finally placed an order through them myself a while back. They seem to be a great company to deal with and their prices on tires and other accessories appear to be about as good as any. The site will make a small percentage if you use that link when going to their site to make your purchases. I know that several of you use them already and this makes it easy for folks to find them.
  16. Just wanted to bring this to the top in case any of you are interested. There was a discussion about these in another thread and somebody asked if it would be possible to get a group discount. I contacted the manufacturer and here is what we have at this time. We will offer your members a 15% discount to see if there is any interest. Their code is" Venture" and will be valid for 15 days. This is for an armored air jacket and the reviews are really good. You can read all about them at: http://www.armoredairjackets.com/index.php
  17. OK. I have been in contact with the manufacturer. They are willing to offer us a short term discount. Here is the note from Stan Conley of Armored Air Jackets: We will offer your members a 15% discount to see if there is any interest. Their code is" Venture" and will be valid for 15 days. The URL is: http://www.armoredairjackets.com/index.php
  18. You know...SOMEBODY here found another shock also but I can't remember now who it was or who made the shock. I will see if I can find the post but have been unsuccessful so far.
  19. I've never heard of them but the price is certainly not bad. I wonder though if it is made specifically for a bike as heavy as ours? They say that the physical dimensions will work but I would want to if the shock is actually designed correctly for our bikes weight. I know that Works builds the shock custom for our bike, rider/passenger weight, etc.
  20. We'll see. I sent them an email.
  21. Yea, he had some real problems somewhere. I've seen several of these bikes Dynoed and they typically come in in the mid to upper 70's.
  22. OK folks....I just started the official maintenance day thread in the regional rally forum and also added it to the calendar. So now you have all winter to make your plans to attend. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53655 Like we used to say way back when we USED to be cool...."be there or be square". OK...maybe we were never cool but that's another story.
  23. It looks like a bike that might attract those who like the ergonomics and styling of the first gen but probably not for those of us who love the relaxed cruiser style of the second gen. I think it looks very nice but it is just not my style.
  24. All RSVs have the 4 hoses hanging out the bottom. They are various drains and should not be plugged off. They have nothing to do with the AIS system. If the AIS truly has been removed, all you have to do is remove the tubes connecting the front and rear carb boots and replace them with 4 caps. Very simple.
  25. I THINK Ken rides a second gen. It is a bit difference. I think he will need two of the vacuum caps and there is a hose on each side that would hook to the other port on each side. They go to the AIS system.
