  1. You guys have some very nice looking ladies. You need to send them to...er...I mean bring them to Maintenance Day.
  2. No, I don't believe it has. I'll get that done this evening.
  3. PLEASE tell me that they weren't wearing VentureRider shirts. Sounds like a great time was had by all. Wish we could have been there.
  4. I would sure like to own another one. I don't want to get rid of the RSV but would like to add a Triumph 900 Scrambler to the stable...and a BMW GS Adventurer..and a ..... I need to win the lottery. It's not likely to happen though because I never buy tickets.

Well, I finally took a few minutes today to shoot the new Glock. I used to shoot OK but haven't shot much in more than 20 years and having gone blind in my "aiming eye", I was a bit concerned about being able to hit ANYTHING. So, I stepped out in the back yard today. I drew a 6" circle on the back of a box and put it up next to a dead tree for a backstop. I didn't measure off the distance before hand but did after I shot and it was almost exactly 36 ft. So, this is a 6" circle shot at 36 ft. Now I'm NOT bragging because I am fully aware that this is not great shooting. But at least I am now reassured that I can adequately use the gun should I need to. This was shot from the Glock 36. For those who may not know, the 36 is a compact .45 caliber with a 3.78" barrel. Pretty small gun for a .45. This week I bought and installed a Pearce +1 magazine extender which means that the capacity of this gun is now 7 + 1 in the barrel. I only had 7 in it and that's all I shot today. Again, I KNOW that this isn't great shooting but I don't think it was so bad for the first time shooting a new gun after not shooting more than a couple of times over the past 20 years or so and having recently lost the vision in the eye that I used to aim with. The ammo used was just a box of relatively inexpensive PMC Bronze 230 grain FMJ. OK already...I know...enough excuses...here is the result. uh...did I mention that the sun was in my eye and that ..........
  6. Yea, forgot all about those FM converters.
  7. Buying direct may or may not be possible but would certainly be more work. I would have to order them, receive them, find a screen printer to send them to and then pay shipping again to get them back to me. I think that shipping from the manufacturer, shipping to a screen printer, getting them shipped back to me and then shipping them to all of you would add a good bit to the cost. I'll work on this more tomorrow and hopefully find somebody to deal with. The previous vendor had been GREAT in the past. Don't know what is going on this time unless they are just having trouble sourcing the mugs.
  8. My '67 Tempest was the first car that I actually did any customizing on. Didn't do anything to the engine but had the interior rolled and tucked, vinyl roof (remember those?), Fenton Gyro mag wheels...not to mention the great Ranger Mini 8 tape deck mounted under the dash. Ahhhhhhhhh.........those were the days. I worked for Gibson's Discount Center my last two years of high school. We ran those Ranger Mini 8 tape players on sale once a month for $19.99. There is no telling how many of those things I sold.
  9. YIKES...thanks for the reminder. I need to remind her to get on those leaves just as soon as she is finished scrubbing the floors and getting dinner going.
  10. I think that I have two or three of the first gen stands left over. I'll send Ponch a message and see if he wants them.
  11. Don't click on Forum. Click on search. Sorry, it's the second menu bar from the top. The search link is the third from the far right. That opens up the search box and the first entry is "Search Forums". Under that is "Search Calendars". If there is nothing in the 2011 calendars then it's because nobody has posted the 2011 events yet.
  12. One of my first cars when I was a teenager was a '67 Tempest. It was only a 326 with a 2 barrel and automatic but it was really a great car.
  13. I never leave mine on reserve and many times ride tank to tank without stopping. I sometimes don't notice when the low fuel light comes on and there have been a few times when only losing power and having to switch to reserve made me aware of the fact that I was low. I just reach down and switch to reserve and find the next gas station.
  14. You can now print out a list of upcoming VentureRider events. You can also search the calendar if you prefer but that is just a side benefit and probably not that useful. To use the new feature, just click on the "Search" link in the upper menu bar of the forum. Just leave the search box blank and click "GO". That will open up a new page where you can select "All Events" and then select the month or range of months that you want to display. Click Go and you'll get the list of events posted for that range. Then at the upper right, you have two buttons to choose from. One is to download it as a iCalendar file and the other a .pdf file. This was requested by one of our members about 3 months ago while I was on vacation. I promised to see what I could come up with when I got back and totally forgot about it. I apologize for taking so long.
  15. OK folks, I am so sorry that I forgot about this. I know it was requested 3 months ago. I managed to come up with a solution that I HOPE works for you. If you click on the search link in the upper menu bar, you will see a new entry that says "Search Calendar". You don't have to put anything in the search box, just click "Go". That will take you to a page where you can select particular months, ranges, all events, etc. Do your search and then you'll see an option to save the results as an icalendar or a .pdf file. Hope this works out for everybody.
  16. LOL....glad you have finally joined us.
  17. It's just not that easy. The code treats the birthdays as an event just like the other events. It would take some major rewriting of the program to make that change. I have changed it though by creating a separate calendar for birthdays. I've posted a new thread in the watering hole explaining the new feature. Birthdays are now removed from the default calendar. There is now a separate calendar if you want to see the upcoming birthdays.
  18. Well...I've revised the revision to my calendar revision. I have disabled the posting of events in the birthday calendar. That way there won't be mistakes made with folks posting upcoming events in the birthday calendar. So the birthday calendar is exactly that, it simply shows the upcoming birthdays of our members IF they have that info entered in their profiles.
  19. OK...I just revised my revision. If you DO want to see who is having birthdays via the calendar, I have added an "birthday" calendar. If you click on "calendar" in the menu bar, it will open up what is now called the "Rides, Rallies, Events" calendar. That calendar shows all events that have been added by our members. If you scroll down on that page, you will see a drop down menu at the bottom right. If you click the arrow, you will see the "Birthday Calendar". Click on that if you want to see who is having birthdays. There is one caveat to this. If you add your events to the birthday calendar, they will not show up on the Rides calendar. They are completely separate so it will be up to our members to make sure that they post any events to the Rides calendar. Also, just a footnote here. You don NOT need to add your birthdays to the birthdays calendar. That information is pulled automatically from your profiles.
  20. It was brought up in the "Request for Features" area that events listed on the calendar get lost among all the members birthdays. I am experimenting with the calendar and have removed birthday listings from it. Do any of you use the calendar to see who is having a birthday? The birthdays are listed at the bottom of the forum and I figure that most people use that listing and not the calendar. It does really clean up the calendar and makes it much easier to spot our events but if the majority of you prefer it the other way, I can quickly change it back to the way it was. As always, opinions are welcome.
  21. I'm trying an experiment. Don't know how popular it will be with the members but we'll see. I've removed the birthdays from the calendar. Does anybody look at the calendar for the birthdays? They will still show up at the bottom of the forum but not on the calendar. That does make it easier to see all the other events. Opinions are welcome. I can change it back to the way it was very quickly.
  22. Looks like you are having a lot of fun. We do miss you around here. Great looking car and grandson. The '67 GTOs and Chevelles were two of my all time favorites. If you ever need somebody to baby sit, just let me know. (I'm talking about the CAR, not the grandson)
  23. As for the PMs, yes, just go to your private messages. There is a box just above the list of messages that says "Folder Controls". There is a drop down menu there. Click on the arrow and select "sent PMs". As for the calendar, I'll have to take a look and see if I can do anything. I understand your comments and agree but don't know yet what it will take to change it.
  24. They are polar opposites of each other. I tried the pillow top and it was WAY to soft for me. It felt good at first but after a long day in the saddle, it is just too soft and offers very little support. The Corbin is hard as a rock. It feels terrible at first but I've never had a seat that allowed me to put more miles on in a day than it does. It is by far the best feeling seat I have ever used. You are right though, seats are very subjective. There are many on this site who love the pillow top and will give you the exact opposite opinion than I just did. People seem to either love the Corbin or HATE it. The bad part is, you can't really just sit on somebody's bike that has a Corbin and know if you would like it or not. I think I ended up putting about 5,000 miles on mine before it broke in to me and I started liking it. That means that you are basically going to have to spend a good deal of money and then wait 1,000 - 5,000 miles before you know if you spent your money wisely. Not the best of situations.
  25. Yes, once I FINALLY get pricing I will.
