  1. Yep....apparently I'm losing my searching skills. I have them on my bike and really like them. The chrome on mine is started to peel though. I'll see what it costs to have them re-chromed at some point. You would think that the chrome would be GREAT at that price but it's really not. I DID buy mine used off Ebay though.

That's a good reminder. I actually voted absentee this past Monday. I hope that everybody does so. NOTE: Do not turn this into a argument as to WHO we should vote for. Simply remember to vote.
  3. I was looking...I mean I stumbled upon....it.... I received an anonymous tip...yea...that's it...it was an anonymous tip I tell ya....
  4. I held the can upside down and then punched a tiny hole in the bottom with the can opener. I had an old towel wrapped around and over it when I did so. It sprayed for a few seconds and did make a bit of a mess but it was soaked up by the towel and managed to save most of the paint. At about $35.00 a can, I just wasn't going to throw it away without trying something.
  5. Really sorry to hear that you father has passed and sorry that your son wasn't able to be there. We will keep you all in our prayers.
  6. Yea...I've thought about that also. My mothers side scares me even more though...I know that even looking at the past two generations...there are....well........ I hate to admit it but......lawyers in the family tree.
  7. FANTASTIC....so that means you are leaving me in your will? of course first...I would have to outlive you.
  8. I know that ancestry.com has been around for a long time. I have never tried it and never really had any interest in such things until recently. I'm thinking now that it might be fun to at least see if I can trace the family tree back a little ways. Has anybody used them and are they worth the money?
  9. Well not entirely...but sometimes you can be expecting a surprise of some kind but it ends up being entirely different than you imagined.
  10. Well...this is more of a garage or shop tip but I'll add it anyway. Have you ever used a can of spray paint only to have it stop up and refuse to spray? I ordered a can of ColorRite spray paint about a year ago to paint the used truck spoiler that I had picked up for my RSV. Well because it sat in the garage for a year or for whatever other reason, I found that when I finally got ready to use it, it wouldn't spray. I had always wondered if you could open up such a can and put the paint in a regular sprayer in such a case and that is exactly what I did. Using an old can opener, I punched a hole in the can. Yes, it did make a little bit of a mess but for the most part, it worked just fine. I ended up with about a pint of good paint. I poured it into a pint jar and put the lid on it until the next day when I was going to use it. The following day, I head out to the shop, get the compressor and spray gun ready and proceed to open the jar with the saved paint in it. Well just let it be a warning in case you ever try this, the paint that you pour into the jar WILL still have the propellants absorbed in it and when you crack open that jar, it WILL very quickly spray paint all over the place and it WILL completely ruin a nice pair of sweat pants and a sweat shirt...shoes...etc. All I'm saying is, this works just fine but when you poor the paint out of the spray can and into a container, do NOT seal it up. Leave it vented so that the gasses can escape. this all took place last weekend and that's all I've got to say about that.............
  11. and thank you. Just don't want anybody to get a surprise that they didn't expect.
  12. I looked on the Star Motorcycle sites and didn't see the covers listed any longer. At any rate, this seems like a fair price so far for anybody wanting them. I too would bet that the K&N filters are inside. That makes it an even better deal.
  13. Warning....doing this does show nudity. Just to let those know who may not wish to do so.
  14. What a terrible ordeal to go through. I really hurt for him and the family. Sounds like he has a lot of loving support though and that means so much. We will sure keep him in our prayers.
  15. I don't think so but the pictures could be better. Looks like a reflection to me though.
  16. Yea, those chrome covers alone were more than that and I think have been discontinued by Yamaha.
  17. yawwwwnnnnnnnnn................ok......but I think I'll take a nap first.
  18. Thanks for your help folks. I think we are good now.
  19. Well, I didn't get a gasket but had already thought that I might make one. I wondered if it should have one but even if not, I didn't think it was a bad idea.
  20. Yea, I thought that it only had 3 screws. There would be a 4th hole for the wires. I also didn't get the long rubber gasket. Would have to make one of those too. Now I'm getting out of the mood to do it again. Maybe I'll wait another year.
  21. No, I can figure it out now. I only got one rubber and flat washer for each screw so I'll have to make some more or pick some up at the hardware store.
  22. Well all I can say is....I mean I think...well....sometimes...I...uh.........
  23. Yea, I remember it now. Very nice. Still not as fast as quicksilver though.
  24. It was probably about a year ago that I picked up a used trunk spoiler. I think I'm going to finally install it and have a question for any of you that have added the Yamaha spoiler to your trunks. It came with rubber washers and flat washers. Does the rubber washer go on top of the trunk or do both go inside?
  25. hmmm.....I don't remember it but I don't remember a lot things lately. Do you still have it? Although.....we all know that silver is the fastest.
