  1. Thigh high boots and the whip would work for me.
  2. I bought 10 tickets. 8 of them had absolutely NO matching numbers. Two of them matched ONE number. Guess I'll keep working.
  3. I received this notice for our chat room hosting company. Should be minimal if any downtime. Hello, Recently it has come to our attention that some clients are having performance issues due to poor routing of upstream providers. As these issues have caused severe degradation of service for some clients we're unfortunately forced to push up the time table for our network upgrades. We will be scheduling a 4 hour window starting at Saturday 11PM PST to Sunday 3AM PST. Projected impact on network connectivity is minimal but as such major upgrades don't always go according to plan we wish to give network admins time to back out the changes. The new network will be based around multiple redundant Cisco ASR 9000's and performance optimized by Internap FCP hardware. We apologize for the short notice but we firmly believe this action is needed to keep the 123 Flash Chat hosting network at peek performance, we appreciate your understanding. 123 Flash Chat
  4. There is a very easy answer to this. You know where I live. Just come to Oberlin, wash and wax my bike and I'll take you for a ride.
  5. I had a good friend that was experiencing a very similar problem while we were attending a MTA Rally in Harrison, AK a few years ago. His turned out to be the lean angle sensor. Had that replace and no more problems. Although, I'm not sure he had the problem with starting the bike, just it shutting down when riding if I remember correctly.
  6. I'm sure that one sounds fantastic by now. It sure takes them a while to open up but I know that the more you play one, the quicker it happens.
  7. Yep...The Beverly Hillbillies....WOW....he could pick with the best of them.
  8. Folks, I don't think that we need to over think this. I can tell you that David and Kathy have been to my home several times for Maintenance Day. I honestly believe that they have always had a nice time and I know for a fact that David has no negative feelings at all. If he does, it would truly shock me. He and I have spoken a couple of times since his accident and he has repeatedly expressed his love for the members here and the VentureRider organization. I have no idea what Kathy may be going through. I know that she was always a warm and sweet person at my house. I am just speculating here but I suspect that any bad things that she is feeling now is probably towards the motorcycle community in general. Ponch's accident has no doubt taken a tremendous toll on their life and she is quite likely not too fond of motorcycles now and may feel that his involvement in this organization added to his love to a pastime that is the cause of what they are going through now. I have nothing bad to say about either of them and have no idea what Kathy may be going through or thinking but I will continue to count them both as dear friends. If something did happen at an even then I am sincerely sorry but I think it goes deeper than that.
  9. Well, the Taylor 814ce and the Martin GPCPA1 are both listed at all the big box stores here for $2999.99 but I can tell you that you can find them hundreds cheaper at some of the smaller independent shops. It is a lot of money for a guitar but it was something that I spent some time trading up to. I sold two guitars that I bought right and made money on that almost paid for this one. It's more than I ever thought I would spend on a guitar but I do think this one is a keeper.
  10. OK...here are some pictures. What I ended up with is a Martin Custom Shop GPCPA1. It differs from a off the shelf GPCPA1 for the following reasons. Adirondack Spruce top as opposed to Sitka Spruce. Dove Tail Neck Joint. 5/16" hand scalloped Golden Era bracing forward shifted. HD 28 style polished/beveled pick guard. Premium Indian Rosewood back and sides. Bone Nut, Saddle and Bridge Pins. and yes, it was too much money but it was one of those that when I picked it up, I didn't want to put it down. Luckily I sold two guitars last week that came close to paying for this one. Well....fairly close.
  11. Not sweet enough....it went back after two days. I've determined that I'm just not a Taylor guy. I tried the 814ce and when I took it back, I tried the 810ce and the 816ce and they just don't do it for me. I guess I just like the fullness and low end of the Martins. To my ears, the Taylors just didn't have any guts. So, I went back and looked at the Martins again and FINALLY found the one for me. No pictures yet but I'll take some a little later.
  12. Yes, that is it. I bid $12.00 and was outbid immediately which means you had a high bid in higher than my 12.00.
  13. I THINK it's because you are bidding against yourself. You are raising your max bid but unless somebody bids against you, it is not going to go up. I'll go bid against you and see what happens. If I win, that's OK too.
  14. You might check Pinwall for an amp. They usually have a few.
  15. If 80 MPH is all you can get in 4th gear, it sounds like you may have a bad coil. When I had a coil go bad, that's almost exactly how mine ran. When it's running right, these bikes will actually go as fast or faster in 4th gear than they will in 5th. You should not have to downshift to 3rd at 80 MPH. I've had mine over 110 MPH in 4th. As said though, it could also be a problem with a clogged jet in one of the carbs. The fact that it tries to surge from time to time leads me to believe that is most likely the problem.
  16. Another thing to check on is that some 2007 models had a recall on the head bolts not being torqued properly.
  17. Here is the Taylor that I picked up yesterday. Rosewood back and sides, Spruce top, Curly Maple top, fingerboard and headstock binding.
  18. No pictures and no tunes. I did pick up another guitar today though. After looking at a LOT of Martins and coming to the conclusion that they have really let their quality control slip, I ended up buing a Taylor. I liked the low end of the Martin but they were going to have to order one and I tell you, from what I saw hanging on the wall, I was scared to death to order one. So, I am the proud owner of a new Taylor 814ce. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow but so far, I really like it. Solid rosewood back and sides, sitka spruce top, expression electronics and a GREAT action. Time will tell.
  19. Just cut the darn thing off and put whatever you want in its place. That's what I did.
  20. Yea, they have a lot of guitars there. I took the Martin back first thing this morning but I had a meeting to get to so didn't try to pick something else. I'm going to wait until I have time to do it right. The Cameo brought $850.00 I might even consider another Seagull Artist in the rosewood/sitka model.
  21. Yea, they have a LOT of guitars. I was dumb to go over there 30 minutes before they closed and then be rushed. There is NOT a problem with this guitar and if it weren't so expensive, it would definitely be my choice. It's just too much money for my needs though. I'm sure I can find something much cheaper that will do just fine. The problem is, I don't have enough time today either. I'm probably going to just return this one and then wait until I have the time to really make a decision.
  22. I'm having buyers remorse this morning. It's just more guitar than I need. I love it but am leaning toward returning it today. I can find something cheaper that it more than adequate for my skills.
  23. I looked about a year again and found nothing.
  24. Well folks....I got the bug again. I'm now down to ONE single guitar. I had my 40 year old Epiphone redone by a great luthier last year. I actually ended up playing it more than my other guitars and really liked it. It is one that I would never sell but I wanted my oldest son that lives in Texas to have it so about 3 weeds ago, I boxed it up and sent it to him. That left me with the Taylor Solidbody electric and the Seagull Artist Cameo. I bought the Taylor electric about a year ago and enjoyed it for a while but I've never been much on electric guitars and the novelty of having one finally wore off. So, I put it on Ebay and it sold on Monday. I shipped it to California on Tuesday. Now I really liked the Seagull S6 that I had but after I bought the Seagull Artist Cameo, I sold the S6. The thing is, although the flamed maple Artist Cameo was a beautiful guitar, I just never warmed up to the sound of the maple. So, I put it on Ebay yesterday and included a "buy it now" price. Somebody clicked the buy it now button earlier today so suddenly, I had NO guitar at all. I had started looking around on Monday. I was in Traverse City, MI and there is a nice store there called Marshall's Music that carried Taylor and Martin among other brands. I had decided that if I sold the others that I was going to buy ONE really nice guitar. I thought I wanted a Martin but I tell you, they didn't have a single Martin that did anything for me. I had almost settled on a Taylor and was trying to decide between the 514ce and the 814ce. I actually went back to buy the 514ce last night but I got there about 5 minutes after they close. I got back to the hotel and started doing some more research on the Martins. I found one that I wanted to look at before I dropped the money for the Taylor but when I stopped by the store this morning, they didn't have the one that I wanted to see. So, I was done in Traverse City so headed back toward the Flint, MI area. I stopped at a couple of stores, including the Guitar Center in Flint but nobody had the Martin that I wanted to see. I was sitting in my hotel room about 5:30 and went online again. I ended up on the Elderly Music website and noticed that they were based in Lansing, MI. Gave them a call and found that they closed at 7:00. So, I made a mad rush from Flint to Lansing and got there about 6:30. They had TWO of the guitars that I wanted to see and the first time I strummed it, I know it was what I wanted. So, I am not down to ONE guitar again. I may buy another one, something kind of cheap, to take with me when I travel but I really like this Martin. It's the first Martin I have ever owned and this thing really sings and has a GREAT low end bass. I'm thinking that thisi is a keeper...but you know how that goes. Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a Martin DCPA1 Performing Artist Series. Solid rosewood back and sides, solid Sitka Spruce top. Aura 1 electronics. I love the way it looks and the way it plays. Haven't got any pictures of it but here is a YouTube video demo. (not me of course) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_n0t0s0GRQ]Martin DCPA1 Performing Artist Series Guitar - YouTube[/ame]
  25. Yes, absolutely a scam. If he wants to pay with PayPal then all he needs is your email. PERIOD.
