  1. It has been a long time since I had the cd changer on my bike but I know that it was not plugged into the cassette cable. There was a spare open connector from the factory that was used. I don't remember the color though. Maybe that cable came out of the cassette, I don't remember. I did away with the changer LONG ago in favor of an MP3 player. I honestly don't know what you mean about drilling the holes. I simply drilled through the face of the fairing where the cassette door used to be. I didn't have to get between anything. I never wrapped the tube with anything. Never even thought about it but there have been no problems with heat.
  2. Glad you are both back in the saddle. Gotta keep the family together here.
  3. It is BAD BAD BAD....Jonas sends it as some sort of sick punishment. but....Maintenance Day wouldn't be the same without it. Sort of a tradition now.
  4. Just wanted to let you all know that I will have 4 sets of Mic-Mutes available at Maintenance Day. Bill won't be able to make it this year but has mailed me 4 sets for the RSV if any of you need one. The price is $139.95 so you can be prepared. It is a great product.
  5. I don't know if there is a thread on actually swapping out the clutch basket. There is one on upgrading the clutch. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10518
  6. I think there may be a terminology problem here. It is not actually voice actuated. It is always on. That's why it will pick up wind noise and etc. while you are riding. A lot of us have the mic-mutes installed so that we can turn off the mic when not talking.
  7. Yes, Hopnel got bought out and I don't think they even make the bibs for the Venture any longer.
  8. Good job. I can see where that would be very handy.
  9. LOL...I got it and meant to send you a message. Not for Eileen? Wish you had told me that in a note.
  10. Thank you. You are always so supportive. Please know that you are much appreciated.
  11. Looking good Dan. Now you will have to start another building project before next winter or we won't have anything to talk about.
  12. Beautiful Guitar. I've never owned a Gretsch but always liked them. Man...some folks have all the luck. Good for him.
  13. Brad, One thing that you can do to conserve some of your bandwidth while on this site is to go to your UserCP and "edit options". Disable signatures, avatars and images. Or some combination that you prefer. Then you will use less bandwidth and the pages will probably load faster also.
  14. Finally, a member with their priorities in order. Glad to here that you and Ron will be here Peggy. Some of these folks find the lamest excuses to miss. Work, births, graduations, weddings, etc. Geeezzzzzzzzzzzz ....
  15. Mike, You are close enough to Oberlin, OH that you really should consider coming to my annual Maintenance Day on June 2nd. We have a great time.
  16. I've seen several of these with over 200,000 miles and no major issues. I actually saw one at a MTA rally one year that had just over 400,000 miles on it. Again, he had experienced no major issues.
  17. Yes, he is doing OK. Just needed a little break. I can tell you, I miss his around here. Not only his great technical input but his friendship. Hopefully he will be back soon.
  18. I'm only 4 years older than you...no...wait...that's not right. Let's see...multiply times 2 and THEN add 4 years. hmmmmmmmmmm......I'm going back to bed.
  19. I ran the original Commanders, not the Commander II. They were great tires except for being noisy in the curves. They would howl in the long sweeping curves. The Commander II is an entirely different tread pattern though and I have no experience with them.
  20. Very nice. I know she will enjoy it.
  21. I found the link: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/05/15/law-firm-probing-unsolicited-calls-disguised-as-political-opinion-polls/
  22. There was a story about this on Fox News this morning. I can't find the link now but it was discussing how some telemarketers are getting around the do not call laws by pretending to be doing political surveys.
  23. I think that the Chinese scooters have gotten much better over the past few years but if it were me, I would be watching Craigslist, Ebay, etc. for a good used Honda, Yamaha, Vespa, etc.
  24. I am really sorry to here the news. I have watched my daughter in law go through that twice now and know how heart wrenching it is. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
  25. Well Brad, that is so close to the truth that it is sad. Things HAVE to get better though.
