I found a used tci locally that will work on my 85. It looks ok on the outside and when I open the back its nice and clean and I dont see any issues, but I want to have a look at the front of the board and check to the capacitors. I seem to remember a thread in here about replacing the capacitors but i cant find it. does anyone know how to get the board out of the plastic box and what capacitors i need if any of them are burnt? Thanks in advance, Brian

HI Welcome to the group! I remember buying mine at Walmart for about 40 bux? but I cant remeber the size for sure, but I think they are just a 4inch round speaker. Some here have put marine speakers in, but my bike is not in the rain very often so i thought it didnt matter. It is not a very big job to swap out the speakers just a bit fidgety as you have to pull off a lot of the top plastic and your signal lights to get there. Brian

The local group I ride with (the CMC) is scheduling a ride down to Minot sometime this spring, its about 4 hours so its a nice length for a day ride,... but a lot of flat roads with 90 degree corners. Brian

I agree, I am surprised at people who get all bent out of shape over a topic that they have never looked up the info for themselves. Some seem to enjoy getting excited over 2nd or 3rd hand info from a friend of a friend. If youre ever up at the North side of the Bakken give me a call, see if we can meet up for a coffee. Brian

I ride an 1985 Venture SO I dont know a lot about the newer models but that one sure looks nice! If I remember right the early Royal stars like that were a great bike, but a little bit less power than the 1999 and later models of the RSV and the RSTD, as yamaha detuned the engine a bit. I am sure someone else will chime in here shortly with more info. Why are we required to fill in the "Name" field in our Profile now?
friesman replied to a topic in Watering Hole
WELL SAID Earl, thats why i always try to rmember to sign my name at the bottom of a post and always try to use a persons given name when chatting back to them. It just feels more personal that way. The world has become to impersonal in my view and its just one thing I try to do to make it less impersonal. And about not putting info on the net, if someone wants your info its easy to get, so putting you first name on a post isnt going to make a difference anyway. Brian -
Geez, I thought Yammer and the Warden had a house? Brian

just testing to see if it wants my name when I post Nope, it didnt ask me for my name when I posted this. Maybe you didnt have a field filled in when you registered, or you werent logged in when you tried to post. -
Most places will take US money, but you may be charged a bit for the difference. Right now the 2 currencies are so close there isnt much difference. I had some US left over when I got back from the cruise in January and just spent it where ever i wanted with no issues anywhere and I only got charged 2% exchange rate once, everyone else was at par. Also, you could walk into any bank and exchange some US for canadian when you get here and as you need it, but we take almost any credit or debit card that you may have if you dont want to carry much canadian cash. How does an Ontario resident change a light bulb? They just grab on to it and wait for the rest of Canada to rotate around them..... Brian:smile5: (you did say you hadnt heard any Ontario jokes.....)

My Ex used it for the shakes and pain she got from MS. She had leg pain occasionally and nothing seemd to take it away but the marijuana. The medical grade seemed to be a lot less potent than the stuff she could find around town, so guess which she preferred:whistling:. BUT, she seemed to go thru the weed a LOT more than just the days than she had pain, I had found that after a year or so she was smokin up just to go to work,or sleep or just to get the day going, and when I would ask her about her pain later she would say she didnt have any. I was glad she didnt have pain, but i didnt like living with someone high all the time either....
