Lowell, sure hope your feeling better soon. Those legs can sure wreak havoc on ya, huh? Maybe your body is just telling you to rest up for a few months. Sometimes you just need to listen to it, before it gets really pissed at ya!

Sorry to hear that Boomer. Remember that mayor when its election time. I dont understand the VFW deal either.

I think there is a fail safe system in place here in the restaurant thread that stops you from posting if the restaurant in question has lousy food. Or if the poster has lousy taste in food, or, or,.......:witch_brew: :rasberry::rasberry:

Remove lower fairing to change air filters?
1BigDog replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You dont need to remove the lowers completely, just remove the 2 screws on the outside and the one screw on the inside and it will drop out of the way. I usually do one side at a time. Just dont force them down or you will break the tab underneath. Filter access is easy now. -
Good for you Tarty......got that models phone # by any chance???

Got the rear shock mounted today. Loads of fun......Only took me 4 hours. Most others probably 2 hours. Im just not the rocket scientist I used to be....more like a frisbee spinner..

Yes, I have gotten stainless bolts from Lowe's before and they have a better selection than Home Depot.

If you need a new switch you can get it from here for about 125.00. Dealer msrp is 196.00. http://www.partshark.com/fiche_select.asp When changing the switch, make sure you have a dremel with a good cutting wheel to cut a slot in those security bolts. Also a good impact driver will be needed.

Just sitting on the bike I can feel the difference. It is way softer. I usually ride 2 up and im no lightweight. Now, if this one goes then I guess ill have to spring for the Works shock.

After 10 years my rear shock finally dumped its contents. Wasnt even riding the bike.....It was sitting in the garage when the first drop hit the floor. And I was sitting in the garage looking at its first drop of fluid hit the concrete. It was such an unholy experience, realizing just how much a new shock will be. However, Bushwacker, who triked his 06 had the old one and sold it to me for a reasonable price. It arrived today and hopefully ill have it in Sunday morn. Still deciding if I want to do the leveling links. Hmmm, maybe while its up ill do............

Glad you guys are alright. Now I just knew there was a reason for me taking down all of my trees over the years.

Hey Ross, when you put that differential back on, like squeeze said, make sure that spring is in the opening of the driveshaft. It acts as a dampener between the shaft and the diff case. One more thing...before you torque those 4 bolts down, slide the axle through first. This will insure proper alignment of the diff.

RSV Shock Project - Donar Needed
1BigDog replied to GaThumper's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
And the Works shock isnt an air shock. My shock just dumped its oil while sitting all week in the garage. I guess 10 years of hard service was a pretty good run. I have another shock coming from a member who triked his RSV. I just dont have the cash for that Works shock. So, if you need a third shock for testing, I have one. -
