I have been with Geico now for several years now with no issues. I originally had the bike insured with Progressive, who, living up to their name, Progressivly raised my rates every year even though there was never any claims. By the 3rd year my rates doubles for the same coverage. At least with Geico, my rates are usually in the same ballpark as when I first signed with them.

1BigDog replied to sgripp's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hope this helps.....Its a fuse block from Advance auto parts for 7.99. I have it powered with a 10 G wire. Its double side taped to the back wall behind the battery. Dont forget to clean the mounting surface with alcohol prior to taping. -

Yea, id just go ahead and change both out now. I was never a big fan of mix and match tires. And id like to just touch on the Metzeler issue concerning air pressure here. I had 3 sets of Metz. Two of those sets (#1 ) lost chunks of rubber from the rear tire. Metzeler customer service was terrible. All I asked them was to acknowledge that there was a problem with their tires, not even looking for a replacement. They blamed me for tire abuse and running underflated. I always run between 45-48 lbs of air so I know the inflation is good. That being said, most products are designed and built with some degree or margin of error in them. If a weight capacity is deemed to be 300 lbs from a manufacturer, will that product self destruct at 301 lbs? Dont think so. At what under/overinflation pressure would a tire come apart? Where is that margin of error? Metzeler cannot or will not quote that one. If a tire can come apart that easy then its a bad design to begin with. If it was that underinflated, as fickle as our bikes are, the handling of an RSV would be seriously compromised in the first place. For those that are running the Metz..good luck and keep an eye on them. Yes, they are excellent wet/dry handling tire but at least now with my Avons I dont have to worry every time I get on the bike will I lose some rubber or my life........

Sorry Joop for your loss. Those pets can take a huge chunk of your heart. http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gifRainbow Bridge http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rbowx.gif Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

If you click on forums and scroll down from the Watering hole to near the bottom there is a section titled Meet and Eats. Check in there for local get togethers. We have one planned for May 17th in South Daytona by the way.

I tried this a few years ago and it worked perfectly. Maybe it'll work for you. I picked up a nail in the rear tire (Avon) with only 1000 miles on it too. I really didnt want to have to plug it as I had a not so good time with a plug once before. I contacted Ride-On and asked one of the owners there if their product would seal an existing hole with the nail still in it. He wouldnt guarantee it 100% but he said it should work. He shipped me an order and , following his directions, I installed it into the rear tire, leaving the nail in place. I then added air and rode it for the recommended 5 miles to distribute it in the tire. Back at the house I removed the nail and it began to lose air. As per instructions I jumped back on and rode it around the block. Within 1/2 block the hole sealed up and the repair lasted another 13k. As long as the hole diameter isnt too big, I think 1/8th is the max then it should work for you too. I have used Ride-On ever since. www.ride-on.com

Sometimes when I feel a cold coming on I pick up a bottle of Day-Quil (the orange stuff) and take a few swigs. It usually knocks back what ails me for a while.

At least you didnt say you invented the internet too!! :rotfl: Nice looking trailer by the way....I like the hammered paint on it. Matches the 99 well. Maybe it will give me some inspiration to finally put together my H/F kit thats been in the garage for about a year.

Rear Brake Problem
1BigDog replied to ActionJax's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
SkyDoc hit it on the head. When I had my 83 I rebuilt all brake calipers and master cyl. However the rear brake would not work. No pressure. And I didnt have an air compressor at the time. What was causing the problem, which I found out many dollars later was a tiny orfice in the master cyl that was clogged. Once it was cleaned out I had brakes again. I now have that compressor....... -
For a minute there I thought Steven Wright joined the group.......

Maybe it was the drug induced haze I was in that caused me to miss this........
