    If you havent seen any accumulation of oil under the rear shock (not to be confused with the overflow oil hoses just ahead of the shock) and your bike aint po-go-ing Id say your shock is ok. Mine groans when its cold. When its tire change time I usually pull the rear shock and lube the joints. Mine is a 99 and still has the original shock..(knock on wood)...

    I tried using regular in my 99 6 years ago when I first bought it. It ran like garbage. I have run mid grade since then and it runs fine. Premium was a waste of time and money.

    Tom, these are highly polished. Just keep them clean and waxed and it should be fine. I had the last set (test set) on my bike for a month before I washed the bike again with no issues.

    Notify Yamaha customer service by calling them then follow up in writing via registered mail for your records of this issue. I would also speak to an atty. Most have an initial consulting fee for free. It cant hurt. Hope it all works out for ya.

    Boy, you just opened a can of worms. I personally use Amsoil 20-50 in mine. Im sure by tonight this thread will be so full of info your head will spin..... I do use the Super tek filters too.

    Just another reminder: we have reached the 20 piece minimum to begin making the deflectors. We have 21. One sheet should make about 23-24. Any more beyond this will require another 20 order minimum, however if we can get a 1/4 sheet then we may be able to make a few more if needed.

    Were going to try and begin making the deflectors this Monday if we can get another 4 orders. Still have 16 pending. Problem is my friend just got hired at the Budweiser plant here and his days off are kinda screwy. Next week hes off mon/tue so were going to try to make a run up to the shop in Savannah and make them.
