    Duke, what is the final plan/agenda for this road trip? I am actually in town for the next few weeks and I planned to ride this weekend. As it stands, we had intentions on riding South to Green Bank WVa to see the big telescope, however, Front Royal might be an option or somewhere along the way if you guys are headed south.     Make sure you know what you are putting in the bike.     I used their shields on both of my Harley's. It's a husband/wife team. Really nice people. She will answer the phone and he will do the work cutting the shield to spec. Prices are about the best you can find for a HD replacement shield. Quality is good too. I never asked them about doing one for my Venture but it would be worth asking.

    I also have this set. They are sturdy and fit great. No issues whatsoever in 5+ years.

    Very interesting; not entirely familiar with that method. Have you ever tried to ride barefoot?

    You will need 4 total bolts; two hex heads that go through the deep holes on the bracket and into the frame on the bike and the other two are for mounting your light bar onto the new bracket. I used a newer, cleaner, unstripped SS version of the Hex Cap bolts that came with my lights to attach the bracket to the bike and then I went to Home Depot and got a couple of 3/8NC stainless steel bolts with flat washer and lock washers to install the light bar to the bracket! Think the bolts were ¾” long! In your case since the heads of your existing bolts are stripped, they are an easy match replacement.     Buy a new battery. Buy the Deka. You won't be sorry. Or, you can continue to hem and haw and contemplate and analyze and roll the dice. Maybe you will get lucky and it will last another 3-5 years or perhaps eternity and you will save $60 to $120.

    Many good threads about this. Conduct a search. Polk db401's. Yes, the Bass Blockers are also a good idea. $6 a pair from Crutchfield.

    If you are asking this question because you are looking at the existing connectors and then the pins on the speaker itself and you recognize that they are different sizes, then here's what you need to do. As close as possible to the end of the existing connectors on the wires that are presently connected to the existing speakers, you need to snip them and strip them and then crimp on the proper size. Make sure you mark which colored wire came off pos/neg in advance. Then it is just a matter of slipping them on to the new pins on the new speakers, The connectors I bought at Advanced Auto are so damn tight, I had to use small needle nose to help push them on. No solder required. Been this way for quite a while with no connection issues.

    Is it me or is this deja vu all over again? Didn't we change to this new version/new look (vBulletin) a couple of years ago because the old one was easily corruptible or something like that and this one was the premier software to avoid whatever problems we were encountering... or am I just imagining things?

    I had a similar noise. Exhaustive examination ruling out variable. Turns out, mine was the little plastic silver (chrome looking) cap that clips on to the center of the auxiliary light bar and is supposed to hide the wires and pretty it up. The clips loosen over time and it rattles when you throttle up and at certain rpms. Make sure you check that too.

    My parents live on one side of the street and my brother on the other side. I keep a bike out there and ride through/have ridden through that intersection too many times to count. A lot of construction in that area so dump trucks are prevalent. My parents say 8-10 bikes taken down. 5 dead confirmed on local news. Intersection still closed. The flames and smoke made it appear as if a bomb had hit. My brother saw the truck driver being given standard DUI tests on the side of the road. Will update if I know more.
