  1. I just recently traded the 99 Venture in on a 2005 Goldwing while on vacation in Arkansas. My wife, her sister, and the brother in law made me do it!! Norm
  2. My wife and I are headed down to Arkansas the first week of June to enjoy the great riding everyone is talking about. We are meeting my wife's sister and her husband from Georgia. I will keep the numbers handy of those who have offered assistance if needed. Norm
  3. It took me awhile to decide to switch my Minolta 35mm to digital. I was lucky because When Sony bought Minolta they made the Sony a200 digital which was almost the same camera as my Maxxum. Same lenses and flash fit. Just bought the body and was ready to go. I gave up nothing except the wait for developing. I can still set the F stop, shutter speed, ASA, etc. The creativity is still there and the fun goes on.
  4. I just mentioned to my wife that I hadn't seen any post about Pork in the Pines lately and the web site doesn't have any info for this year. Any info about this year would be great. Norm
  5. I'll be happy to take the Diamond R arm rest off your hands. My wife has been asking for a set. PM me has to how you would like me to pay. Thanks Norm
  6. Here is a picture of the snow blower parked on the side of the road up on the pass
  7. Yes Beartooth pass officially opened all the way across last Monday. My wife, her sister & brother in law from Rome, Georgia and I rode across. Beautiful and cold. 33 degrees at the top with probably a 20mph wind. here are a couple of pictures. Norm
  8. Okay I met up with Wadye this weekend in Missoula, MT to transfer the trailer over to him. Unfortunately because of heavy rain fall and flooding on our side of the state we DIDN't get a nice weekend bike ride out of it liked we had hoped. So again the F150 transported it. On the other hand Wayde said he had a nice ride and he did pull the trailer with his Venture. Norm
  9. I installed a firestick antenna. To tune it I disconnected the cable from the antenna that goes to the radio and hooked it to the SWR meter so I have the cable running from the radio to the SWR meter. I then took the jumper cable that came with the SWR meter and hooked it to the SWR meter ANT connection and then to the antenna. Following the SWR meter instructions I then set the switch on the SWR meter to FWD. I then pushed the PTT button on the bike . The directions say to adjust the meter until it hits the set on the fare right of the meter. When I turn the knob all the way to adjust the needle it doesn't even move up to the 1.5 mark. A long ways from the SET mark. What am I doing wrong or does my CB not work. Any advise would be appreciated Thanks Norm
  10. Good Luck to you Dan. Hope all goes well.
  11. I talked with Dan today. The other driver coming from Seattle to pick up his load was held up so he is suppose to meet Dan tonight. Dan is going to bring the trailer to Glendive, MT tomorrow on his way back home. I will keep the trailer until I can get it to Spokane. Wayde I am tied up ever weekend in April. What does the first weekend in May look like for you to meet in the Spokane area. Norm

    crater lake

Crater Lake is beautiful. We took it in when we did an Oregon Coast trip a couple of years ago. We were there the 2nd week of July and there was still some snow on the ground.
  13. I have been considering a GPS. I have read a number of threads this past year with various opinions as to what model to get. For budget reasons and because the boss isn't sure I need one I am looking at the lower priced ones. My question for those who have the lower priced ones is the audio loud enough to hear voice commands from the internal speaker or do you have a way to run it through the intercom? I run my MP3 player through the aux. jack by the cassette player. Your input is appreciated. Norm
  14. The Marshall Mod web is http://bludolphintravel.com/gmg/marshallmod.htm. It tells you exactly what you need and even gives part numbers.
  15. yes the one antenna is for the AM/FM radio the other for the CB
  16. okay I did the dual firestick antenna modification. I really like the look. I live probably 220 miles from the nearest CB shop that I know of. When I go on line to look for a SWR meter to tune my CB antenna myself I see them priced from very low to very high. Since it isn't something I will use much after the one time I don't want to spend alot of money. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what make and model to buy without spending a bunch of money or should I just wait until I can make a trip to the nearest CB shop and let them do it. Norm
  17. The exact same thing happened to me two weeks ago. Pulled off the freeway coming into town after a nice Sunday afternoon ride. Went to down shift and the shift lever was laying on the floor board. Looked in the manual I have for the bolt size couldn't find it. Went on line to look up the part and it still didn't tell me the size. Was in Billings a week later so stopped in at the Yamaha dealer and he didn't have one and couldn't tell me what size it was so he ordered me one. It has been over a week and no bolt so this past weekend I went to the hardware store and by guess got a M6 that fits and works until I get the real bolt.
  18. Hopefully in July you won't need the ski
  19. My wife and I went over the Beartooth Pass Laborday weekend. It was closed the Thursday before because of snow but beautiful on Saturday. I've attached a few pictures in case someone is wondering if they should go to Cody next year. Very pretty area.
  20. I picked one up this year also. I was tired of my wife always asking or Wing friends what the temp was. You can also get them at truck stops. They call them ice alerts. I just open the cassette door and sit it on it. Norm
  21. I just ordered a rear Avon Venom yesterday from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. Cost $131.00 shipping is free. Norm
  22. My wife and I also shopped Walmart. We started with an 8X7.5. We had room for our double mattress but that was it. We moved up to a Northwest Territory Nordic Dome which is 10x8. It has room for our double air mattress and room to stand up and dress. It is light weight and cost was I think$49.00. We have slept in it in a rain storm and had no water inside. Norm
  23. I'm going to break out the BBQ this weekend because here in Eastern Montana we are finally in the double digits ABOVE "0". Might even get above freezing. The roads are thawing a little so now we have the hugh ruts the the little cars get lost in Norm
  24. My wife and I spent a night last summer in the Bed and Breakfast just outside Salmon. Then road over to Redfish Lake for a couple of days of great riding and then down to Boise to see kids and grandkids. Our summer is quickly filling up but would be interested if it fits on the calendar. Norm
  25. Gary I am okay with it. I think it is a good idea to donate one with the extra money. Thanks for doing this group order. Norm
