    Hi dan like condor said thank's for doing this for the members. you can take me off the list for the one i was going to get, i found one at a salvage yard off of a new wrecked bike for cheep so i don't need it. If possible give the one i was going to get to Condor so he can get his bikes going , that way maybe he won't outbid me on ebay anymore( he thought i forgot about it) :buttkick:again thank's for your time doing this for the group:clap2:

    sounds good to me, missed the rally this year because just got back from trip out west on 30th of june and was going to go to the rally but notice i had a leak in the water pump and didn't get it fixed in time. going down to jasper ark. in two weeks with other friends, we go there about three or four times a year.

    I had this problem also and like you said shift rod #30 was bent like yours, what i did was to straighten out that rod then put cover back on and adjust shift lever and that took care of that problem. now it shifts great. you should put your bike on the center stand ,start it and try going thru the gears like i did before you go for a ride. Good luck hope this fixes your problem

    I was on the yamaha site and seen that on august 9 on Jessy James is a dead man show jessy is going to ride the new VMAX. On the yamaha site there is a link if you go to the vmax section on the bottom left is a link telling about it. It said after jessy rode it he said it will be the bike he wants to ride. So on august 9 on spike TV check it out i know i will and also know others that like Mr.Max will also.

    if you want the complete diaphrams go to oldbikebarn.com $104.95 , if you want just the rubber part go to siriusconinc.com they have the rubber replacements listed for $99.00 . I bought mine with the group buy. to see the post condor was talking about go to the 1st gen tech section at the top of page click onto carb. diaphram link to get that info. hope this helps.

    Hey gary i have had bikes with both styles and my 87vr has the ventureline backrest and i like it better because unlike the post style you have three adjustments front to rear and you just move it forward so passenger can get on without taking anything off. Yamaha should have made one like it for the 2gen.

    I bought one off ebay two days ago for $102.00 that has a progressive spring on it . there was a couple more on ebay without the progressive spring, i also found on the progressive site you can get just the spring for around $96.00 if you shock is ok and you just need the spring like me but i bought the shock with it on for the price of the spring

    JC whitney has the EBC pro lite rotors for the front for $125.99 each and they have the rear rotor also, i think the rear is around 250.00 give or take. about the cheapest price i could find , hope this helps .

    I had the avons on my 87VR last year and just put on dunlop E3s on about 1200 miles ago and i like them better than the avons i had on it . I ride straight line and twisty roads about the same amount of miles and the E3s work good in the rain and dry , i will buy them again when i wear this set out.

    Sounds like a plan to me bill , i want to build one myself in the near future. I would go shopping with ya but when we went down to larry's in jeff city sat. so you could get your new helment i ended up buying a helment and headset when i was just along for the ride. My arm is still sore from all the twisting you did to make me buy it. It was good meeting you ,linda and joe last friday for dinner. good luck with your trailer project. see ya around town . Ed

    Bill i don't know why , most likely because i ride with 4 other guys from Mo. VTX riders that i have known most of my life and on most weekends we put on at least 200 to 300 miles a day . all i know is that one has a 08 fjr , 1 a Vstrom , a kaw concorse , and the other is a 03 goldwing , the wing and i are playing catch up most of the time we just can't keep up in the twisties. I will give you a call friday afternoon so we can meet up with joe for some of that fish he was talking about. I live off of 370 and elm so it won't take me long to get to you guys. see ya friday.
