  1. Here is their reply................. Hello Thank you for the e-mail. The quality of the product is closely watched by all parties and we are proud of the lack of warranty claims we have handled over the years. Please rest assured that we are very serious about the quality of our products, and we monitor the warranty claims very closely. We are proud to tell you even with the 2007 sales increases we had our warranty claim rate percentage decreased compared to 2006 and this is very important. As a company that actively interacts with the dealers and consumers (supporting the dealers that sell and install) at rallies and events across the country over the last six years we are shocked by the amount of consumers riding with tires grossly under inflated. This lack of correct air pressure or using the incorrect non approved tires is causing the majority of the complaints, but you never can read or see this on the forums and hence where the mis-information comes from. We always suggest that consumers use our brochure as a reference for fitment and air pressure requirements. These brochures can be picked up at a local dealer, from a dealer at a rally, at each of the Cycle World IMS shows across the country, or by simply downloaded from our web site. Thank you again and I hope this information is helpful and used properly. US Metzeler Moto http://www.us.metzelermoto.com 877 202-4993 So what do you think?
  2. I will be sure to copy/paste any comments I get from them. I can just hear it now....... "Problems, what problems? First we heard of it. Wouldn't surprise me. Anyway I will post all comments I get.
  3. Because I just got 2 new Metzeler 880's put on a month ago. Now I am very concerned. I sent comments to them at http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/web/contactus/CUEntryPoint.do I included some of the posts. I hope you guys don't mind. Here is what I wrote: I have bought your Metzler 880's for my last 2 bikes and must say that I like them. However, it seems that there has been problems and I have to say that I am very concerned. I ride a 2007 Yamaha Venture now with your 880's on it. I am a member of Venturerider.org Here are some posts in the forum: "Another METZLER Tire came apart today on one of the guys bikes today. The rear tire lost a 6 X 4 inch chunk. Man that was scary for him and the rest of us who were riding around him. Man those tires are JUNK he only had he said 1k miles on them. I was glad I got rid of them and went to AVON................Ron" "Glad he is OK Ron,I agree totally from my own experience..Be safe,Tom" "Glad it wasn't worse, Metzler better get their act together. If people catch on to all the problems with those tires and someone dies.....can you say Lawsuit" Seems there is a problem. I hope you understand how uneasy I am riding on your tires that I only just got a month ago. How safe am I? If this happens to me and I get hurt, my wife and friends have all been told about this and what she needs to do. Greg
  4. Hi Walt. Although I do not have these on my bike, I rode a Venture with these highway floorboards. Totally awesome. They are expensive however the comfort is so worth it. It has a ridge for your heal to rest on. I will be getting these. http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=honda&ci=2777
  5. Hi Mike. Looks like you got about 46.47 MPG (Imperial Gallons) Here is how you convert: From liters to Imperial Gallons multiply liters by 0.22 From km to miles multiply kms by 0.62 Hope this helps bud.
  6. Eddy, Glad to hear that you didn't break any bones. Be possitive and you will be surprised how quickly you will be feeling better. A couple weeks ago I wiped out on gravel only doing 10km per hour and ended up with a broken ankle and cracked rib. Just goes to show,,,,,,,,,,,, you never know. Get better quick and good luck with the bike. Keep us posted.
  7. Hi Rod. I use a program called Sound Forge made by Sony. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/soundforge Fantastic professional program that would be overkill for just increasing the volume. It does so much more. However, it does a fantastic job at increasing the volume. As you know, unless you get all your music from one CD, the volume is different between tracks. With this program, you can "Normalize" the volume so all your tracks are the same. No more turning up and down the volume. I also use this program to mix my music so that one song mixes right into the next for non stop music. And yes, you can still have the songs set as tracks so you can still skip songs. Hope this helps. PM if you want this.
  8. I bought the adapter with the legs from Carbon1. Jack up the bike, put on the legs then lower bike to a very stable position. Makes it so easy to do your oil changes, cleaning the tires/rims and all kinds of other work. Allows you to sit on a stool and the bike is high enough to work on. Oh, and I put my bike on this stand for the winter to keep the bike off the tires for the 11.5 months of winter. hahahaha, ok, 4 or 5 months.
  9. I doubt you will find a dealer that carries parts for any helmet other than a face sheild and even then it isn't easy. I think your best bet is to go to http://www.genuineaccessories.com/NolanHelmets/nolan_all.html You can always call them or email them about the parts you are looking for.
  10. Thanks to everyone for your kind words and your help. I hope that I can be of some help soon. And please,,,,,,,,,,, EVERYONE,,,,,,,,,,, be careful out there and keep your eyes open. Ride safe and enjoy the rest of the riding season.
  11. Hi Earl and Jean. Thanks for the link. I found it under XVZ13TFW ROYAL STAR VENTURE. It is under Cowling 2 and the part is: SKU: 4XY-2835K-01-PA BODY, FRONT UNDER 2 DPBML - Color Info (DPBML:DARK PURPLISH BLUE METALLIC L:0865) DPBML - Color Info (DPBML:DARK PURPLISH BLUE METALLIC L:0865) Again, thank you very much. I will call the dealer on Tuesday to get their price and then compare with Seattle's price and shipping. I thought they would be more expensive. Heck, I don't think I could get mine fixed and repainted for that price.
  12. Thanks Don. I will try calling him tomorrow. As far as the price, that's ok, I will just have him put it on your account.
  13. Thanks guys. The Percocet really helps. Does anyone have one? Where can I find one? Anyone have any links?
  14. Let me start by saying I HATE GRAVEL. I get pretty uneasy when I have to go on gravel. Last Sunday I, along with others, pulled into a golf course in Alder Flats in Alberta. The drive enterance and lot was gravel. A thick bed of gravel with everything from fine stuff to little rocks around 1 inch. I took my time and was only doing about 10km per hour. There was a couple bikes ahead of me and one moved over in my path while in a slight left turn. No big deal as I had enough room however I touched the back brake. Because of the gravel, it didn't take much for the back wheel to lock and started to slide out to the right. I countered and then my hand hit the throttle boss. Well that bike went to the left real fast and threw me down. Broke right ankle and a cracked rib. Because of embarrasment and the adrenalyn rush, I actually got up and picked the bike up. After that, I don't think I missed out on any swear words in the adult dictionary. Anyway, the only damage is a scratched up lower cowling on the right side and could see at least one broken plastic piece where it screws onto the bike. I need a new one or at least one in very good shape as the bike is still new (crying now). As it states in my sig, the bike is a 2007, blue in color. Does anyone have one? Where can I find one? Anyone have any links? I have googled and checked ebay with no luck. Any and all help and or suggestions would be appreciated very much. Thanks P.S. This really sucks.
  15. Well, my wife (Debbi) and I will be leaving tomorrow morning on our first long bike trip. Leaving Edmonton, Alberta around 7am. Will be going into Regina, Sask. and Rouleau, Sask. where Corner Gas is filmed. The we are off to Billings, Montana, then Butte, and then Great Falls. From there, back up to Canada to Vulcan, Alberta and then home. Now, because of the crappy weather we have been having, we might do Vulcan first and to Rouleau on Sunday. Anyway, just though I would post in case anyone wanted to meet up for coffee alone the way. I won't have a computer with me however, feel free to text me at 780-920-5249 (do not enter a 1 at the beginning because text messaging is not long distance). Don't be shy, text me. Would love to meet some members along the way. Now, lets all bow our heads and pray for some NICE WEATHER. Hope to see some of you soon.
  16. So sorry to hear about that. Someone just did that to my car the other day. I swear, if I ever catch anyone doing that to anyones vehicle, he will be severily hurt. Scumbags!!!
  17. Hey Tom. Great idea. And you're right, they are inexpensive.
  18. Thanks Tom. I will check them tonight. Ok, what are bearing buddies. Or is that baring buddies. hahahaha, shoot a little grease, hahahahaha
  19. Hey Goose. You have gauges on your bike? Temp gauge? What kind/type did you buy and where did you install it/them? Thanks
  20. I built a trailer last year. The hubs were brand new and greased very well. Made one trip with it last summer and put 1700 kilometers (1056 miles) on it. I am going on another trip leaving this weekend and will be putting approx. 3500 kilometers (2175 miles) on it. How often do the bearings need greasing? Would they need it already?
  21. Excuse me for butting in, but if they took the bike from the show room and put it outside, how did it get so dirty that you didn't see scratches? Was there a mud storm? Is this show room in a barn? Why would you spend that much money and not insist that they wash the bike for you and why wouldn't you look it over before taking it?
  22. I had this problem one time with my Roadstar. Turned out to be a bad tire. I am still on my stock tire on the 07 RSV. Because I have had this experience before, I check every 2000km or so by taking my hand off the bars at low and highway speeds just long enough to see if it starts to wobble. The bike remains nice and smooth. You want your hands to remain at the bars but not touching. If it starts to wobble, get those hands back on. It only take a couple more seconds for it to get out of control. If your problem is not the tire pressure or the fork pressure, then get your dealer to fix it. It is NOT normal.
  23. In Canada, check with your broker or find a broker that deals with Jevco. They specialize in bikes. I pay about $650 for a year full coverage with $500 deductable. I have not found anyone cheaper. Trust me, I keep trying.
  24. Hi Mavrick. And thanks for your response. Do the Bubs have a DEEP sound? Do you also have the K&N air filters installed?
  25. Thanks Steve and Al. Anyone with the BUBS?
