  1. WOW! Thanks everyone. I really like the idea of tapping it and using a stainless screw. Don't know why I didn't think of that. You guys are great for waking up the brain. CHEERS! Have a beer on me. Greg
  2. I need to put 2 new rivets in one of my bub mufflers to hold the chrome tip on. I was told not to use aluminum however, if I use steel, they will rust. I haven't seen any stainless steel rivets. Has anyone had trouble with using aluminum? Like I said, I don't want them to rust. Not attractive. Thanks Greg
  3. I wonder if it comes with an 8 track

  8. Come on......... Everyone that visits this site even if only once or twice a week, please join up. It only costs $12.00 for a full year. If you find even one small thing on here that helps you, it is worth it. Even the simplest things, like "What pipes to buy", whatever, you will learn so much. The nice thing about being a member is you get to post, see photos, video, etc. I wanted to know about pipes and inquired what people thought about Bubs. I received quite a few replies and even a video taped during a members ride so I could here the Bubs in action. I was even sent a wave file. Also, ANYTHING that could save you a trip to the service center will more than pay for your $12.00 membership. Come on folks. Become a member. Become a member of this wonderful family we have here. If you can afford to go for a ride, then you can afford this. And if you live where it is cold, then guess what, you can become a member for less than a tank of gas that you no longer need. JOIN NOW!!!!!! RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! NOT TOMORROW, NOW! HURRY UP, LETS GROW.
  9. I am so interested in this. Awesome job.
  10. You may have already been to the site. If not, go to http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=1 Looks fantastic. Now I think I have to look at getting one. See what you started. Greg
  11. I want to thank everyone that has replied so far and to those that private messaged me. I really look forward to reading what others have to say. This site is AWESOME!!!!!! Greg, aka Starrider07, aka Thor
  12. Thanks a lot FL. Very nice detailed reply. I am pretty sure I am sold on the Bubs. I had Hard Chromes on my Roadstar and the wife always complained or she wouldn't ride with me. ( Mmmm, never mind ) Brad at Bub told me that if they flake, they will honor warranty. However, painting the tips flat black would look pretty good. Don't suppose you could email me some photos and maybe even a sound file????? Wish I was in Florida. Starting to get cool up here.
  13. I know this has all been answered however I would really like some fresh comments for the following: 1. Does having the K&N filters and bubs slip on's require any jetting? 2. On the Bubs site, they only show "BUB Sleeper slip-on mufflers for the Yamaha Venture." Is this the only one that people are getting for the RSV's 3. A lot of people here have said they like the bubs but were too loud and took them off. On the Bubs site, they mention "The mufflers have removable baffles that can be packed to control your sound levels" If this is the case, why are people taking them off instead of adjusting the sound level? Does this procedure ruin the sound? Thanks to everyone that helps me with this. Greg
  14. We live in Edmonton, however, because it is WAY cheaper to fly out of Calgary, that is where we are leaving from on July 1st. I was wondering if anyone lived near the airport so I could leave my car at your place while gone. Will be back on the 16th pm. If anyone could help us out, it would be greatly appreciated. Greg
  15. How Spammers collect emails. Spammers use a program to generate email address. The emails go out and most will be sent back to them as undeliverable. The ones that don't come back are concidered a possible good email and tagged as such. There are people that actually reply to spam. Now they have a verified good email address worth money. Don't ever reply to spam, no matter how upset you are. Replying to spam lets the spammer know they have a good email address. I am sure everyone here has received a chain letter. There are all kinds of them. Funny, sad, spirtual, etc. For the most part, these are sent out by spammers. Think about it. They get these verified email addresses and send out a cute chain letter. You get this email, click on FORWARD, and you add all your friends email addresses and send to them. Remember, you aren't the only one doing this. This letter quickly turns out to hundreds of thousands of these emails going out. These all get sent back to spammers with, guess what, an extremely high rate of good email addresses. Guess what, they sell these email addresses, thousands of them, on a CD to companies that sell all kinds of stuff. HAHA, mostly Viagra. Get the idea. Want to reply to a spammer or company offering you that special deal? Create a hotmail account that you won't use, send out your lashing and protect your good email address. In fact, send them your lashing with an attachment around 1 or 2 megs and send it 100 times and mess up there email server. Here is a good ethical tip: Want to send out that cute, funny chain letter to all your friends? Lets face it, some of them are pretty good. 1. Highlight the body of the email you want to send out. 2. Select COPY 3. Open up a new email and PASTE in the body. 4. Mail to yourself. 5. BCC (blind copy) all your friends in there. ( Not CC ) This way your are protecting the privacy of all your friends. I am sure a lot of you know this stuff already, however, if only a few didn't, then I feel I have helped. Be Internet Wise. Later all. Greg
  16. I don't have a picture with me right now but I will get one. Got to love the halloween shot. Ok, that is me with my wife Debbi. It was halloween night and we went riding. Pulled up beside a couple cops in a car at a red light. They laughed. Greg
  17. Just my 2 cents. I have to agree with Bill. It is a catchy name. Great name. A tradition. I have come to know about "The Tail of the Dragon" and for the last few months I have had that name on my mind and trying to arrange / juggle things around so I can make it to the next "Tail of the Dragon". The event has not come to an end, therefore, I say: The name should not end either. Myself and I am sure others who have never made it but always wanted to, will have to face the fact that we will never make it to the "Tail of the Dragon" What if they changed the name for Sturgis? Don't beat me up people

  19. Gas prices in Edmonton, Alberta sits at .924 per litre. If my calculations are correct, that is: $3.50 per U.S. gallon $4.20 per Canadian gallon. Why are we paying, in some cases, twice as much for gas here? This is crazy. Figuring $1.98 per US gallon, our price should be around $0.52 per litre. WOW! Are we ever getting ripped off. And in the news this morning it was mentioned the BILLIONS profit Exon/Mobil has made. Makes me sick to know that we can be screwed so easily. Just my 1 cent worth. The other cent went for fuel.
  20. Cindy, I totally agree with skidrow. Go door to door in your neighborhood. You may find out things that will help keep this a$$hole in prison for a very very long time. Do some investigating. Like skidrow said, try to find out where he moved from. He may have moved from there because of a simular situation that may or may not have been reported. Just my two cents. I wish you all the very best. God bless you all. Greg
  21. I venture to say (no pun intended) that the bigger motor and EFI won't happen until 2010. You might see anti lock breaks for 09. What I think would be great to see instead of the retarted cassette player, is a satellite radio (keeping the FM radio as it is) and a card slot for MP3's. At this point in time, I don't even want to see a CD player. All digital, no moving parts. Doesn't that sound good?
  22. Glad I could help. It's about time I contributed something.
