  1. I decided to run with Shell V-Power High Test ($1.43L)($6.50 a Gallon)gas I found that the FJR ran much smoother than my other Brand The Overall average for Gas Mileage was 54.94 mpg with speeds min of 118kph/73,23 mph to a top end of 173kph /107.43 mph and this is a guy who weighs 255 lbs and lots of gear ( IM IMPRESSED) The FJR holds 25 litres or 5,5 gallons of full travelling at 120 kph or 74.54 mph before hitting reserve I used 19.7 litres or 4.33 gallons of Fuel I managed to get 374.2kms or 232.4 miles
  2. Arrived back form our eastern tour yesterday at noon, yesterday. Round trip was 5829 Km's. I used 397 litres pulling a trailer about 34.5 mpg. Deb used 322 litres approx. 42.5 mpg. We hit about 4 days of rain and it was very cold around Gaspe' and the Cabot Trail but we enjoyed ourselves. Camped when it was nice. Here's a few picks.
  3. Ok, I've changed the oil in the bike (not the filter) as I will be doing this once again next week when I install the new clutch kit coming in.. The book states that without changing the filter, the bike will take 3.5 litres of oil.. 3.7 litres if you change the filter.. (page 7-15 owners manual) And just like the last time, I've drained the oil out, removed the filler plug, bike is upright, hot engine, I even go as far as leaning it side to side to get the last of the old oil out and I just put in 3 litres of oil.. and the level is right at the top of the sight glass.. I actually had to drain a tad out to bring it to within specs.. Seems to me I'm not getting a full draining of the old oil out of the bike.. by half a litre.. might not seem like a lot but it's got me wondering where and why it's not emptying out properly... Or is this more of the norm then? Just curious, bike's been performing superb since the new fuel pump, new coils and new switches in PA the other week Cheers
  4. Call me stupid......or maybe just lazy! Are there any Canadians out there who've done the math to calculate if their "mileage" (kilometrage?) is good or bad? On a trip home yesterday, I put 14.2 litres into the tank after travelling 233 kilometres. Is that good or bad? Anyone? Anyone? Thanks to any braniac/math/conversion wizzard for your help. Mike
