Regarding TCI Options
Flyinfool replied to casiper's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It depends, If you replace the diodes BEFORE the old one dies it can be done. If you wait till the TCI stops working, there is no way to bring it back to life. Once dead, stays dead forever. -
Almost don't count, go try it again till you get it right......... Unless of course yo figured a way to use a relay......
-
But did it hurt? Well then I didn't hit the ground either, the rocks got in the way........

This whole thing just sounds dangerous.

Geeze Dan What do you meen keep up with.... That puts you one up on me again, yet, still. I'm still trying to catch up to you....... At least I did not fall from the same thing twice...... And I was smart enough to land on my head to minimize damage instead of my bad leg........ Maybe you should put some flypaper on the bottoms of your shoes.......or at least on your butt..... You do not have to save all of the falling for me, I'm not that way, I'll share. Set up a video cam to catch the next slide and fall.......we wanna watch to.......

Crank case cover removal
Flyinfool replied to Dizzle223's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hmmmmmm.......... I'm gonna hafta try that. I have a new stator sitting on the kitchen table that needs to go in. I will try to see if I can get the side cover off without taking off the middle gear cover. I thought I tried that when I did the starter clutch but that was a long time ago and I have CRS syndrome. The last time I had my cover off I did not drain the oil, with the bike on the center stand very little oil came out. most of it came out of the middle gear and that does not drain with the engine, that is why the crush washer is on the bottom bolt, that is the drain for the transmission. There may be some differences between my 88 and your 83. -
Don't even think about just buying a helmet online to work with glasses. I just bought a modular helmet. I tried on at least 15 different helmets before I found one that does not push my glasses somewhere they should not be. Different glasses and different heads will work in different helmets. My new helmet is a size 2XL, my old helmet of the same brand is a L. They both fit correctly. I went helmet shopping because my old helmet did not work well with my new glasses. My new helmet does not work with my old glasses. With my new modular I can get the helmet on and off without having to remove my glasses.

Crank case cover removal
Flyinfool replied to Dizzle223's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
First you have to remove the middle gear cover, then you can get the left side cover off. The stator is screwed to the inside of the cover. You do not need to remove the round panel in the middle of the cover, if that round cover is not leaking, leave it alone. You also do not have to remove that small plug just in front of the round panel. You will need to have the side cover gasket, the middle gear cover gasket and the crush washer that goes on the bottom screw of the middle gear cover. It is common to be leaking oil where the 3 wire from the stator come thru the side cover. Clean this area thoroughly with brake cleaner to get all of the oil out of the cloth covering of the wires, then goop the wires up real good with black RTV inside and out rub the RTV into the cloth wire insulation good. -
Well she knows that I am always sore after playing with the "kids". So I am covered for a few more days.......

I have been hovering waiting to find out the price. If it is reasonable then I'm in.

It has been reported in the last few weeks that Milwaukee got off the list by not reporting some of the rapes, beatings requiring extensive medical care, and even murders as violent crimes.

Congratulations, I hope he makes MLB MVP some day. I order for it to be worth anything some day you would need documentation to prove its history.

At least WI was not the last state to allow it........:stickpoke: If the brats are cooked in beer, just one would be deadly. I'm violently allergic to beer.

Add a pair of terminal blocks under the seat. One for power one for ground. Then you will have a bunch of power points for the future. I actually have 3 term blocks, one ground, one battery power and one switched power with a relay. Gotta get a relay in there somewhere.

Yup, been there done that, burned the t-shirt. That is what the o-rings do. shrink when they get cool and expand when warm. I replace the thermostat cover the plastic elbow from the water pump and all of the orings. No more leaks from around there. Now just the freeze plug leaks:bang head: My wallet seems to only have contraction, I seem to be missing the expansion part......

Police radar can pick up a model airplane that is mostly balsa wood and plywood, covered with plastic film, and not much metal at all, doing 170 mph. A model airplane coming right at you has very little frontal area and NO flat surfaces facing the radar. Local LEOs occasionally stop at our flying field and join in the fun. Radar can also pick up a baseball coming in at around 100mph, just watch a game on TV. But then I do not know if they add something to the ball to help the gun pick it up. Obviously not, or they would/could have neutralized the threat...........
