  1. I just need to get some of the radar absorbing paint the the military uses to hide from radar.........
  2. Compared to my GPS the bike speedo reads 9% high at all speeds. I never thought to check the odo. There is a stretch of highway near here with a measured 10 mile section. That is where I always used to check my speedo and odo before GPS was invented. At the 55 speed limit it should take 10 min and 55 seconds to cover the measured 10 miles and the odo should read exactly 10 miles. I'll have to see if the signs are still there.
  3. You can always go in and make an offer. Worst he can do is say no. I got a nice truck from a dealer that way once, I went in and made an offer on it once a month for 4 months. Every offer was $1000 less than the previous one. They finally accepted my last offer during a blizzard just to get it off the lot it was the ONLY sale of the day during that storm.
  4. OK I'm in. I sure hope Condor aint in...........
  5. That is why I did not even tell Erika about the real injuries. I am always stiff and sore after playing with the youngsters (18-40 years old). Since there is no cast or anything other than some bruises, she just thinks it my normal old age showing.... She has enough to worry about. Besides, she would insist that I not ride the bike for a while. I did get it out and ride it to work today. I gots to git ready for the trip up nort at the end of the month.
  6. The biggest benefit I get out of my radar detector is that it can display a digital voltmeter to help keep tabs on a weak electrical system.
  7. Another possibility is the vent on the fuel tank can get plugged by insets crawling up in there and the vacuum in the tank will stop gas flow for a bit. I never heard of it being intermittent but one never knows.
  8. You need better tools for a 2nd gen cuz they need a lot of work.........
  9. I can assure you there were no cameras to be found anywhere. So Paul Harvey is outta luck.
  10. Back from post #8 http://www.boats.net/images/diagrams/yamaha/02/0359/0006.png Nobody ever listens to me..
  11. Got a link with info to get tickets. Yes I am broken, battered, bewildered, sore and lazy all at the same time.....
  12. Does that mean I may need appropriate weaponry?
  13. :sign yeah that: If the bike goes down on the right side the crash bar mounts will deflect far enough to nick that plastic elbow and as soon as the weight is off the bar it springs back to where it belongs so you have no clue that it was being bad. I don't know if boats .net is a good place to order from, I just use their diagrams and then order from Earl......
  14. Well now that you mention it..............
  15. Most hardware stores do not have metric o-rings. You can get pretty close with SAE rings but do you feel lucky? From what I see on the "Radiator Hose" parts diagram it is item 25 p/n 93210-14104-00.
  16. When it comes to hitting stuff with the bike, close don't count. Glad you have bad aim.......
  17. Your not supposed to use crap to type on a smart phone. There another problem solved......
  18. Too late, check your other radiator post.......
  19. I did not find a kit, I had to get all separate parts. As long as your are in that far...........
  20. The plastic thermostat housing is known to warp sitting there just behind the exhaust pipe. There are some threads on this issue. If you are going in that far, It is a good time to replace the o-rings on the elbow from the water pump and the thermostat housing. And then since all of that has to come off to get to the starter motor, it is a great time to pull the starter for the ground plate mod.
  21. Check Skydoc_17 on this site. Earl is where I got mine from. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3768&title=first-gen1983-1993-progressive-fork-springs-21&cat=22
  22. From the pics on google earth it does not look like you have enough water to have to worry about pond monsters showing up.
  23. With the detector on the floor it will still go off. But by the time it does it is to late. Having it on the floor does drastically reduce the distance at which it can detect a signal. I do not know if it is still made or not but there used to be a model out there that had a sensor mounted in the grill and a remote display that you could mount under the dash so it would not be seen by people outside of your vehicle. It was also popular on bikes for a while due to its concealability and difficulty in quickly removing.
  24. NOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............. Not that, Not Chi traffic. I'll be good, I promise, really I do. I do feel less sore than I expected this morning, as long as I don't breath...... Got a reprieve from trying to get the bike out of the shed today, heavy thunder storms predicted.
  25. Its getting closer
