I did not find a kit, I had to get all separate parts. As long as your are in that far...........

The plastic thermostat housing is known to warp sitting there just behind the exhaust pipe. There are some threads on this issue. If you are going in that far, It is a good time to replace the o-rings on the elbow from the water pump and the thermostat housing. And then since all of that has to come off to get to the starter motor, it is a great time to pull the starter for the ground plate mod.

progressive springs - where to buy
Flyinfool replied to D4klutz's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Check Skydoc_17 on this site. Earl is where I got mine from. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3768&title=first-gen1983-1993-progressive-fork-springs-21&cat=22 -
From the pics on google earth it does not look like you have enough water to have to worry about pond monsters showing up.

With the detector on the floor it will still go off. But by the time it does it is to late. Having it on the floor does drastically reduce the distance at which it can detect a signal. I do not know if it is still made or not but there used to be a model out there that had a sensor mounted in the grill and a remote display that you could mount under the dash so it would not be seen by people outside of your vehicle. It was also popular on bikes for a while due to its concealability and difficulty in quickly removing.

NOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............. Not that, Not Chi traffic. I'll be good, I promise, really I do. I do feel less sore than I expected this morning, as long as I don't breath...... Got a reprieve from trying to get the bike out of the shed today, heavy thunder storms predicted.

No not the bike. Just me. Climbing on some rocks with wet shoes. You guessed it, I took the fast way down. ended up with 2 cracked ribs, a broken pinky toe and a good knot on my head. I did see stars. SO DON'T MAKE LAUGH with any snide comments, that hurts.

OK you opened the door. What was the dumbest thing you ever did????

Someone will have to remember this with all of the pornagraphic memories on this site.

It should be 14.0, anything under 13.8 is getting to marginal, over 14.2 is getting excessive. The idle voltage does not matter much anything in the 13s is fine, it will be low, check the voltage at 2500 rpm or more. There is no way a bad switch can burn out a volt meter. The switch should also not be able to damage a charger or battery. Open up your meter, it has a fuse or 2 inside that may have blown.

2007 back end lights

The lights are no good, I don't see nuttin. Or did he go a little farther north with the ramp and jump 3 states? Evil Kinevle would be proud. -
Be careful flushing a 20+ year old system, some of that crud might be sealing up leaks. I simply drained mine and refilled it with new.

I ran into that coming thru Chicago, I was doing 70 in a 45 and getting flipped off for going so slow. Traffic was flowing at 80. The trailer was fine with 80 but the bike did not like it. It felt like the engine was laboring and it seemed like the gas tank had a 3 inch hole in the bottom.

Glad it worked out the way it should have with minimal fuss.

I got a big rare earth magnet to put on the bottom of my bike. There is a light that I hit almost every day that I tried all of the tricks on, ride on the wire, side stand on the wire, stop and start the engine (got me to fix my hot start issues), combinations of all of the above, nothing worked. With the big magnet it now trips every time. As a bonus I have found screws, nails and other ferric road debris stuck to the magnet, I figure that those gems were headed for my back tire.

Well since the question asked is whats the safest speed to pull a trailer.... The safest speed to pull a trailer behind a bike is 0 MPH. All bike makers say DON"T DO IT. It is hard to crash when not moving. As far as what speed is reasonably safe to pull a trailer will vary depending on the weather, road condition, driver skill / knowledge, the bike used, the trailer being pulled, how the trailer is loaded, how everything is set up, the condition of everything, and probably a few other variables not there on the top of my head. The trailer I have now, the first time I pulled it it was swaying hard at 50-55 MPH. Now that I have made modifications and learned better how to load it, I was quite comfortable with the cruise control set at 75 and 30+ MPH winds blowing.

Well since you didn't notice that, you must be really old........
